  1. Good for you! I am 7 days post op and when I am released this Friday to work out that is exactly what I am going to do. I have Fibromyalgia and the resistance the Water gives me is perfect! I thought the same thing about the age of the women. I am 54 and thought wow I may be the hottest chick in the pool!! :)

  2. I had a small portion of a baked pork chop with mushroom Soup gravy...the looks don't bother me at all because I know how good that dish was before pureed food!! Also I have a great tip for keeping your food hot. I have one of those electric coffee cup warmers and a small glass bowl. I turn it on and put the empty small bowl on it and then while I am pureeing <sp? it the bowl will be very warm and I can take my time eating and it stays delish!! :)

  3. you are so rude you must be ashamed of your self being this old and calling people an ass and an idiot.

I call them like I see them!! Always have and always will. My surgery was one week ago and I feel fantastic. No issues. and I am so over you and your ignorance. Don't bother trying to "get my goat"...

as you won't get a rise out of me!!! done with reading ANYTHING by you... :)

  4. I don't understand why everyone's being so defensive. He was just asking a question and he's clearly frustrated because it's extremely difficult to change habbits. Everyone should calm down.

Hamany ana msawya el 3amaliya gabel sboo3 oo ham waaaayed lay3a chabdi malait, kelyom abchii i misss old food wayed! Bs u have to remember u did this for a reason and try to think of the longterm positive effect. With time, i'm sure we'll get used to it and even love the new us. Goodluck!

***Oh look he has 2 accounts here! Let it go and he can go play with himself!! If you don't reply hopefully the fool will leave..... :) *the post above was #1 by a new member....duh

  5. I am on day 5 post op and I cannot get in 8oz. I sip most of the day (but not for an hour after I eat). It sounds like you are having spasms. I have been having them too. Things got better yesterday (day 4). Make sure you are sitting up straight when you drink. Warm goes down better than cold. Maybe drink room temp. Hope things improve for you soon. Melanie:)

  6. I had my sleeve surgery this past Monday the 27th. Everything went off without a hitch. While in the hospital (and on IV pain meds) I was able to do the ice chips like no bodys business! and drank most everything placed in front of me. I also walked with no assistance. There was some discomfort in my chest area. Today is the first day I am going to do my best to stay up. Sitting on sofa, and not in the recliner.

What I would like to ask is did anyone experience this?: when I sip, as soon as it hits my chest area it feels like someone is grabbing and squeezing in my chest. It feels real tight in my chest. It passes after a few seconds and a couple of burps, but I HATE this feeling!!! Even if I am not drinking and just burp I get the same feeling. Has anyone else experienced this? and how long before it passed?

I haven't been able to take my pain meds because in the first post opp day when I did attempt to swallow them I would immediately get that hot Water in my mouth feeling...you know the one you get right before you throw up?...the pills were spit. I would rather take a beating than throw up! I've been that way all my life..so I am just toughing it out and not taking pain meds.

I want to thank each and everyone of you that helped me along my pre op journey...with out this site I would have been totally lost... :)

  7. verysoon I am so elated your story had a happy ending...your strength and conviction is a Blessing...I am being sleeved in about 24 hours and I know this is the best decision I have ever made...the few people I have told in the last few days are against me having the surgery, but they do not live in this body of mine and they don't know the pain this extra weight is doing to my body and soul...you are truly an inspiration to me! God Bless you!...Melanie:)

  8. Hey sleeve Sis! I am sitting right beside you on that damn roller coaster of emotions...I had the hardest time making a grocery list this morning..the things I will need for today and tomorrow's liquid diet...things I will need when I get home next week...things for hubs to eat while playing my nurse at home...Thank God he offered to do the shopping for me as I think I would still be wandering around Walmart!! I feel like I am in a fog or have jet lag or something like that...I will be so happy this Monday when they wheel me off to the operating room...Best Wishes for your surgery and we will catch up when it's over....Melanie:)
