    Isopure drinks

Grape was the only one I could drink. I didn't mind the taste of it, and for 40g of protein you can't really beat it.

    Protein Shake

I make my own using some recipes from Eggface's blog. I couldn't stand any of the premade shakes and believe me when I say I tried them all. Premiere, unjury, Atkins, Isopure, etc. Yuck. There is a recipe for banana nut bread Protein shake, its amazing. I highly recommend it!

    spanx everyday

I do if I'm wearing something that's very form-fitting. I have a lot of loose skin and am anxiously awaiting the time when I can have it all removed. Until then though, Spanx are my friend. Haha.
  4. Way to go!!!!! You have inspired me!! I have gotten way lax in my diet and I'm only 2 pounds away from reaching ONEderland! Thanks for this boost of motivation and CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!
  5. I am about 14 months post op and I've noticed in the last month or so that I am able to eat significantly more than usual. Don't get me wrong, it's still a small amount, but I went from eating 7 or 8 bites and being full to being able to being able to eat 14 or so. Maybe it's just my stomach relaxing, I know the pouch doesn't stretch, but I just want to make sure I haven't damaged it. I'm definitely in the maintenance phase. I can eat anything without it making me sick, so I have to really watch my calories and my exercise. I'm having an EGD done on Wednesday so I'll have an official answer then, I just thought I'd see if anyone had any other knowledge or info on the matter.

    Eating more than usual?

Preaching to the choir. I'm not actually eating cake, I was just kidding. Being able to eat more is fine with me, just so long as its not because I did damage to my stomach by eating too much.

    Eating more than usual?

So basically I shouldn't be concerned, this is common? Also, you're saying I should put down the cake? Thanks!!

    unflavored protein

I'm with you. I can't sand unflavored. It's awful. vanilla all the way!

    I'm not telling.

Everyone is different. I told anyone who would listen. It's been a year and I'm STILL telling people. It's your decision though. I've had people make snarky comments, say I took the easy way out, etc. At the end of the day, they're asking because they're envious. So they can suck it. I'm proud of my sleeve!

    Cheese burger....?

Take it one day at a time. I went through the same thing with Taco Bell. I loved everything on their menu that I got depressed thinking I could never have it again. I took it one day at a time, forced myself not to go there after work like I normally would. After about a month post op I decided to try a taco from there. It didn't taste the same at all, in fact it was terrible, and that was the end of my Taco Bell habit. I've had In N Out post op. Just a plain cheeseburger and I can only eat about 1/4 to 1/2 of it. But I can have it. And you will too but in much smaller quantities and not every day. Start bringing food to work with you. Carrot sticks or celery. Protein shake. Something that will fill you up so you don't go for a burger everyday. You can do it!

    NERVES are running crazy here

I'd be concerned if you WEREN'T scared because that would mean you hadn't researched enough. This is a big deal surgery but it's the best thing I've ever done. A year ago I could barely climb a flight of stairs without feeling like I was going to collapse. Now I've run 3 5Ks, have my first 10K in April, and I'm training for my first half marathon. The surgery is scary but the benefits are simply incredible.

When did your weightloss STOP !?!?!

I'm about 13 months post op and my weight loss is coming to a screeching halt. I still have about 25 pounds to lose before I hit my goal so I'm increasing my exercise and decreasing carbs, but only temporarily. My doctor told me that it's all about calories. Once your body starts getting used to the number of calories you're taking in you have to decrease from there to continue losing. Just stay healthy with it!
  13. I ate everything the last day before my liquid diet. McDonald's. Taco Bell. Whataburger. And then I hit the liquid diet cold turkey. I'm proud to say I didn't cheat but I think the overload of food the day before made it harder on me. I'd avoid that if you can, though no one will blame you if you do it. Start drinking lots of water. Drink a full glass before every meal (pre op of course). It'll help you learn how it feels to be full sooner than expected. That was always a shock for me and took some getting used to.

    Craved foods post op...

Make sure it's not too soon to eat solid foods, but, I'm a firm believer in satisfying cravings. I'm one of those people that once my mind gets fixated on a certain food I can't get rid of it until I have it. I had that with chicken nuggets from mcdonalds. I got a kids meal, ate half of one chicken nugget, it tasted TERRIBLE, and I haven't been back since. Sushi, on the other hand, always tastes delicious. LOL

    Can we have rice?

I agree 100%. Same goes for me with white bread and Pasta.

    Best tasting protein shakes?

I couldn't do any of those shakes, even the premier shakes from costco. They just tasted horrible! I tried the Isopure drinks and while I could tolerate them they were not anymore close to within my budget. $5 per drink?! If it's not Starbucks, I'm not overpaying for a drink. Have you seen Eggface's blog? She has a list of about 20 different Protein shake recipes. I LOVE them. The banana nut bread is my favorite. They use flavored Proteins, either vanilla or chocolate, and you can use Water or soy milk. I use water, milk is unecessary calories IMO, but they still taste great. They're great during the liquid of mushy phase too. Google The World According to Eggface and you'll find her blog. Those recipes saved me because I was having real trouble getting my protein in.

Can I Ever Have A Diet Soda Again?

Everyone is different. The great thing about this surgery is you don't have to completely deprive yourself of things you want. At least not forever. You just have to be smart about it. For the first six months at least, you should avoid any and all carbonation. On my 6 month anniversary I happened to be at a baseball game so I decided to have a beer to Celebrate. I learned real quick that it was too soon. One sip hurt. A little while later I tried diet soda and it was fine. I drink it without ice, and from fountain instead of bottle. I find the fountain has less concentrated carbonation. Diet soda isn't great for you but that's not news. I'm a believer in not depriving yourself completely of things you want. That's why fad diets fail. Just be smart about it and don't force it. If it doesn't feel right going down give yourself more time to heal before trying again.

    200 lb Loss?

Well Khloé, you may find you have someone closer than you think that's had success. In just over a year I've lost 185 pounds. And it's still going. I'm at the point now where I can eat anything, just very little of it, but because I spent a year having been basically forced into eating healthy I have much better eating habits. Even though I could eat Pasta or white bread if I wanted to, I trade pasta for vegetables and white bread for wheat. Starting this journey needing to lose 212 pounds seemed impossible and was really depressing. A year later and I'm 27 pounds away from my goal. This surgery is the absolute best decision I ever made.

    Any Size 14s?

    HAIR LOSS!

I lost a lot of my hair as well. The hair loss lasted about 5 months. It seems to have stopped now. My hair is still thin but I can see some growth coming back. It *will* stop, just make sure to get in all your protein and eat enough calories. I also take a Biotin supplement and I use the Length & Strength shampoo from Garnier.
