I had some frozen greek yogurt..I guess it was too sweet...although when I was eating it, I was fine. About 10 minutes later I was nauseous(had to have that extra bite) but I also had this "someone just poured 10lbs of sugar down my throat"..taste in the back of my throat..I get this occasionally from certain foods..anyone else get this?

Have you lost since your surgery date?

How's everyone else doing?

I know to expect throwing up' date=' is that a temporary thing, or is that just to be expected forever? Also, what are slimes, sounds alien like.[/quote']I only throw up when I eat fried or really greased foods...when I over eat like to the extreme I usually feel like throwing up to the point that i actually want to but I just can't..its terrible. This doesn't happen much at all
Slimes is what it is..slimey stuff coming back up. I usually end up spitting it up into a paper towel..that rarely happens.
You'll get to know your body and what will and wont make you throw up. Its a matter of trial and error atleast for me

Prior to surgery I got gastritis from the massive amount of coffee I drank...now Im 4mo post op and i have 1 cup in the morning..I also take 300mg of zantac in the morning(always had acid issues)...coffee isn't a problem just like everything else, don't drink it in excess or with tons of cream and sugar

Whoah! They definitely do not tell you this stuff! I'm just over a week away to sleeve day. And reading this thread has me totally scared now! I have been reading up on as much stuff as I could find but the hair loss - never came across that! Ive got such fine hair I'm scared I'm going to go bald :/ and I definitely did not know that your tastes can change so much...I have really fine hair to ..im 24...I had surgery in april and literally just started losing it like a few weeks ago..it comes out in a whole lot of strands but I don't have any bald spots or anything..its alarming but I wouldn't worry...just make sure you take your Multivitamins and have Protein...it'll eventually stop. taste wise for me anything sugary tasted so sugary it was nauseating...some things I can't even look at it makes me sick..other then that nothing to drastic..don't be scared just remember its for your health and well being

Im 4 months out and I lost 60lbs. Im 5'7 ..Went from 315 to 255. Probably could have lost more had I been more healthier on a few of my food choices

I had an allergic reaction to prilosec too but only if I drank a Protein drink after taking the pill. I realized this early on while still on liquids and it so freaked me out' date=' I didn't drink whey Protein for several weeks. I no longer take prilosec and have not had anymore reactions. Hope this helps.[/quote']
My dr gave me 300mg of zantac in the morning and if needed I talk 150mg in the afternoon. Im almost 4 months out and haven't taken prilosec since the first 2 weeks after I had surgery. To scared to chance it. Glad im not the only one with that though

Yeah your not going to lose anything but muscle and your hair if your only eating 300 calories a day.
Im 24 and I thought I wasn't going to be the one to lose hair after surgery but about 3 weeks ago I started to. Im convinced its from malnutrition
The point of the surgery is to be healthier. Try eating higher calorie foods or just stop counting calories. This is why your losing nothing

I got sleeved 4/23 and I've lost 60lbs. I've hit 3 or 4 stalls. I lose when I eat more rather then less. I don't exercise like I should be. Having the I want to lose faster attitude is just going to make you discouraged. You'll lose when your bodies ready don't try to force it. It really doesn't work

Thanks! ...Im not concerned with how fast i lose or when i get to my goal..I was at first but now I could care less..im concerned that im losing weight eating the wrong foods. I think your right that im probably losing muscle. Definitely getting back on track as of now

I had my surgery in april to and my hair started falling out like a few weeks ago...im have to use the snake drain every day its so much. Hopefully it'll eventually stop
-
I wish I was told how everyday medications would give me adverse effects...I get hives from prilosec and I get extremely tired with ibuprofen..never had a problem with it before surgery
-
Gas x strips wont work with surgical gas...just walk its all you can do

I haven't been on this in a while..I had my vsg done april 23rd..im down 60lbs. When im eating the amount I should be and eating healthy I don't lose. If im having an off week and eat way to much food and less healthy I lose weight (breads and sugar crap). Its making me crazy and is extremely annoying. Anyone else ever have this?

Ibs. I just felt like sharing this

I had my surgery done in april and only my parents and brother knew of it. I didn't want the world knowing.. a few days ago I went to my aunts and uncles for a bbq. Of course I got the "what's wrong" question from them when I was eating so little. They looked really offended. So I was forced to come out with it. I just said I had it done and it was met with silence and ooh...really awkward I mean what do you say to that.
My aunt was like "oh I thought you lost some weight I just didn't want to offend you." ...needless to say now my whole family will now know and watch me eat during family functions.

I Never Expected This Pain!
in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Posted
I have a high pain tolerance..but when I had surgery in april, I was in excruciating pain..the morphine did nothing in the hospital and neither did the pain killers after
It lasted about a week and a half..then I was just really sore but it was more annoying then painful.
I have no idea how anyone had no or little pain or even went back to work a week after ..their bodies must have some freakishly extremely high pain tolerance
