nicola got a reaction from Irelandlynne in When will I stop regretting this surgery?
I think you should call your doctor. It's not supposed to feel that way if you're following the post-op instructions. I'm 12 days post-op and I feel fine. I'm never hungry and I'm excited because the weight is falling off. I pray you find relief and start being happy again so you can enjoy your new body and your life ahead. Sending you a hug*

I'm sorry, the group isn't searchable. It's set up as private, that way people can't find the group or members. We still have a lot of people that are keeping the surgery a secret from their Facebook friends and wanted to make sure their privacy was kept.
A link wouldn't help. You need to be invited to private groups.
I hope you join us! We have a great family on there with lots of support.

well I am now on solid food. But, I am finding so much I can no longer eat or drink. Keep a food log so you will know for the future. And, don't touch those things again. Not to discourage anybody and I am NOT advocating throwing up but after have some hamburger and orange juice, I was up for four hours during the night throwing up orange juice. I am now 6 weeks out and I have lost 32 lbs. Keep on keepin on, It will all be ok. Atleast that is what I keep telling myself.

UPDATE: the page is now called Spring 2016 VSGers because there were so many awesome people outside of April that I wanted to add! So send me a message & friend request on Facebook if you want to join [Alea Birbeck, same pic as here]!
I'm putting together a "secret" support group on Facebook for folks who are being sleeved the same month as me - my surgery date is April 15th. I'm not going public with the fact that I'm having surgery, so it's important to me that the group doesn't show up on my personal fb page.
I've been told by a friend who had her vsg surgery April 2013 that her similar support group has been fantastic - a group of people all going through the same thing, a safe place for questions and sharing experiences, etc. She actually added me to her "April 2013" secret group and they're a great group, I can see the appeal!
I'm looking forward to building a great network of people to go through this journey with! <3

Saw it on FB and I commented that she needs weight loss surgery and not Weight Watchers. People came out of the woodwork to attack me with the standard misinformed and ignorant crap about the surgeries.
I'm really despising Oprah and how she is fooling people for profit. She isn't in control of herself and needs the surgery too.

I never had regret. The first few months were the hardest. They require the most work from you. Make sure you get your Water and Protein in! After the first few months I learned what it was like to be a "normal" person who was not driven by food. Today marks one year from my surgery. I still have a way to go to hit goal. But I feel like a completely new person. You can't reverse this, so embrace it and all it has to offer! Here is my 1 year before/after.

    G'day @@KittyCathy22
I'd not usually reply to a post like yours because you're really in need of stuff that I'm not much good at..
But there's something that I'd really like to say to you...
I know you're a little messed up at the moment and that's ok..
You've got your sh*t to sort out and I'm pretty sure you'll get there...
The reason I'm sure you'll get there is because you have what many of us here do not have...
    Youth...
Now, I'm not calling you a kid...
    But you're a young woman..
And as far as I'm concerned, you're a smart young woman...
Not only that but you're a courageous young woman...
At the YOUTHFUL age of 22 (nearly23) you've had the balls to step up and take control of your life...
You've done that now, before you get to the point that some of us old relics got to..
    You know the stuff...
    Creaking bones...
    Aching joints...
    Flabby bits..
Honestly, that some madd decision making skillz... (I'm all over the cool talkin' stuff, yo)
Now, I'm not p*ssing in your pocket and saying stuff because I think it'll make you feel better...
I don't do that... (And some here will attest to that..)
But give yourself some credit here...
    You've changed your life...
    You have...
And for that, I simply want to congratulate you...
    Take care..
    Stay courageous...

    Long term consequences ????
I freaking had this surgery just for the long term consequences !!!!!
    Don't you go scaring me.
Seriously, the long term BENEFITS are going to be awesome. You will not grow up to be an old person, like I did, with weight issues.
You've taken steps to prevent this.
Please.......take a deep breath.....think about this......you have taken the RIGHT steps to avoid being an old and broken down person. Your joints will thank you later. Damn....if only you could see my limping stride and you'd understand what I'm saying.
Depression.......anxiety.....those are separate beasts to battle.
Obesity......darling, you have just kicked that to the curb.
Stay the course and focus on the other issues on their individual field of battles.
You will have equal great success with them.

    Hi Kitty!
Sorry to hear you are having a rough time. I hear that it is common for people to be on an emotional rollercoaster after surgery. Losing weight releases hormones and can make you emotional.
I've battled with anxiety my whole life. I've been on Zoloft for a few years and that helps a lot. The doctors let me stay on it and even take Ativan when needed (haven't needed it) during this surgery process.
Sometimes I have thoughts about my long term future and get worried (will I ever be able to eat normal again, will I ever be able to have a drink socially again, OMG what's gonna happen to my skin? Am I going to look worse with all that skin?). Anyways...when I have those thoughts, I just redirect myself to the present. So far everything has gone great. Is this surgery/situation ideal? No! Of course I envy skinny people who never "ruined" their bodies in the first place and don't have to go through this. But you know what, we did, for whatever reason. But we have chosen better for our futures and took a huge courageous step. I'm very proud of myself for making this commitment and having the courage to do this. Just take it one step at a time and enjoy those numbers going down on that scale!!
Feel free to contact me anytime. I'm in the same boat and I'm a therapist, so I'm a good listener.
    Keep your chin up!!

nicola got a reaction from Valentina in Welcomed NSV....I'm surprised!
I was sleeved 4/18. And now I don't have any bladder leakage or urge incontinence. I've been battling with this for a long time. Tried surgery and all types of meds with no relief. And suddenly it went away after my wls. I'm so elated. I hope it stays this way.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
