BCBS does cover it... I have it but like slim said there are certian criteria you have to meet and some polices have you do a 6 month diet(with a dietian) then psych eval.
Also I took the 6 month supervised diet as a way to adjust and get ready for life after the sleeve... It will be a BIG change to your system... Atleast food intake wise
YES you will have to do the 6 month supervised diet and a psych evel... I too have BCBS of TEXAS... but i got all that behind me just waiting on them to approve or deny.(doc just sent in paper work last week)
Valid fear and like most have stated just stay positive in all aspects of your life. "WE" have to all go through the many stages of WLS... Put to sleep is just one.
OK doc has officially sent off paper work to insurance company.... Now its just a 2-4 week wait time.... Is that a normal time frame? NEWayz... whats 4 more weeks...
Yes thats the fun part (6 month diet) ... I dont know how SC is for insurance but in Texas I had to do a psych eval... aswell NOW that was fun!!! Well good luck on the rest of your journey...
I have completed my 6 month medical supervised diet. I go for my psych evaluation this Tuesday.... Is there anything i should know going into this? Some been there done that type of info, I just dont want to slow down or mess up my approval process.
Ok went for my Psych Evaluation this morning.... Ok from what I gather thhey just want to make sure your stable... mentally. I talked to my psychologist for about 35 min. Then took a (basically) True or False test. With 250 questions!!!! I think they only ha about 10 questions they asked 25 different ways. But all in all wasn't that bad at all. Now I just have to wait on the results to be sent back to my Doc.
