I had skin glue and LOVED it. I've been using Bio-Oil to reduce the scaring.

I'm 4-weels out and started mushies. I'm good with turkey meatballs, ground chicken salad, ground ham and mayo, re-fried Beans, and most soup...the exception being cream based. I'll have to try the shimp tomorrow. That sounds good. I've purchased salmon, talapia, and sole too. Thinkinng that fish may be a new friend. I stick to 3 tablespoon, and generally cannot finish that.

I'm 3.5 weeks post-op and have been doing well. Just tired at times and other than that making sure I get my fluids in daily along with my Protein...it seems I am just not all that hunrgy or thristy between 2-6pm...note self...continued to drink.
But today I did something not so good. I fell down the stairs about 1hr ago. I rode them on my left-side hip and ribs. I'm sore, but slightly afraid that I could have caused my stomach or spleen some damage. Thinking I should call my doctor.
Has anyone else fallen after surgery and if so, did anything happen?

I need a moment to vent and i need advice
I was sleeved December 20th ! I need something some sort of advice on what to drink for Protein..vanilla and chocolate are just making me want to vomit...they're gross. I need to get all of my Protein in and i find it harder and harder everyday to do so! Please tell me there were more people that went through what im going through.
Thanks
I was gagging on the potein shakes from my doctor, myoplex vanilla, unjury. I was told to get the Premier Potein shakes from Sams. They are 5 carbs and 30 grams per 11 ounces. They taste like chocolate milk to me. I drink 1-1/5 a day and get the remaining protein from other sources. Good luck, you have to try a few until you find what you can handle.

Happy, I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend. Know that she is walking with you during your journey. Take care and God Bless you.

Thanks everyone.
I'm only 12-days post-op and to see this type of difference is crazy! I had on my jeans yesterday for my 1st post-up visit. They are snug in my belly area, but my pant legs are flopping! LOL
Anyway, they said I am doing fine. 18% of my weight is gone and they were pleased I have to remain on the liquid phase for 2-more weeks. But, I can have refried Beans, yogurt, and cottage cheese once a day...THANK YOU GOD!

It's funny I thought I would lose my upper body more quickly then anywhere else. But, where I have seen the most visable weight-loss is my legs.
I grew up hearing those awful words "thunder thighs" my whole life. Between my legs and my arm-n-hamer arms I had the damnest time finding clothes to fit me well.
Over the weekend a friend made me try on clothes, which is something I have great hesitation in doing. While at the store the clerk said, "why don't you try on some leggings." I'm thinking you're crazy...have you seen my thighs?? Then, she brings me an XL. I'm thinking lady you really are crazy. I tried them on and they fit and then she brings me a size 18 jeans and I'm thinking...this woman is high too! I'll be damn...they fit! They were skinny leg jeans too!!!!
Anyway, since the surgery my legs have gone down signifcantly...many inches. I can see it in my jeans but couldn't believe it. Last night my niece came in while I was getting ready for my bath. She said, "Aunt Cheles, your legs are skinny!"
Okay, I can offically say, I'M LOVING MY SLEEVE! Now, hopefully the upper body will go down more!

5-years ago I was single, working for a consulting firm, and had purchased my own home. I came back to my town to be close to family and friends. A year later I meet a man who I married. My weight had stabled off around 250 and I was comfortable with myself. I was looking for a new job, trying to get one closer to my home and that came in place about a year later. At this point I had been remodeling my home and was completed with everything but the kitchen, deck, and new roof
At the beinging of this year I was at my HW of 305. I never saw myself there, but knew beacue of clothes. Then I had to have carparl tunnal surgery in April. I couldn't handle the pain my left arm any longer. After that...a second sinus surgery (i've had chrontic sinus infections for 4-years) and my life was miserable. 5-months after the sinus surgery I noticed I wasn't getting sinus infections every 6-weeks....this was a great thing. It was also the time when I friend of mine had here VSG and got me thinking again about stepping of that ledge. During this time, I also lost my best friends because I choose to watch a football game with my dad and not them. (Mind you, I had been with them the 3-weeks before)...oh well.
So, I review my insurance and they finally approved the sleeve. That was it. I was going back for a consult. Here I am 9-days post op and just imaginig the posibilities.
What will 2012 bring...transformation of Michele. I want to focus on changing my career, completing the remodeled kitchen, take my health seriously and become whom I've always known I was. And maybe study French again. :-)

Right after surgery, when I was getting all the gas out, combined with the gas of being on a liquid diet, I turned to my best friend (who also happens to be my co-worker in our small office) and flat out said: "Look, I am going to sound like a barnyard animal for a few days/weeks...please still love me!" And we laughed it off and went on our way. I figured it was going to happen in front of her, might as well be up front about it!LOL...I just talked with some of my co-workers yesterday. They are asking when I'll be back and how was I feeling.
Long story short, I told them great, some days really tired, and plenty of gas! They were guys and they just started laughing saying how fun I'll be when I return to working tooting along!

Here I'm 9-days out from surgery. I've been doing fine with the except of my aching back. I'm wondering if it's my posture from the quick weight loss...but I don't know.
Anyway, today the Monster came out. It was around 1pm today and it growled, moaned, and drove me crazy. I've been on full-liquids with the exception of 6oz of greek yogurt, and that was the day I realized I could no longer tolerate the Protein shakes.
Two days ago I added egg drop Soup to my diet which TOTALLY satified me. But today, I did not get the same effect. Today I broke down and checked what was "allowed" on the 2nd-phase. There it was...refried Beans, low-fat sour cream, and a dash of taco sauce. My mouth watered, my stomach growled. Two Tbsp later I was satisfied and the Monster shut up!
I'm going to be careful...I'm too afraid of causing a leak. But at least it was the 1st real food I've had in over 3-weeks. I'll go back to full liquids tomorrow.

Well, that explains it...I've been in food porn mode since Christmas. I watch the Cooking Chanel and reading cook books. My husband asked me last night why I'm watching the Cooking Chanel...I didn't have an answer for him.. I never thought of it as part of the addiction. OH MY GOSH!
As for cravings...I want a turkey meatball with marinara sauce. Heck, I never made turkey meatballs...how strange!

Congrats on your hard work.

You look amazing! Great job and plenty of hard work. Congrats to you!

I agree...stay on the liquids to give your stomach time to heal.

Congrats on the new home! YEAH!!!
Did Everyone Here Go On A Liquid Diet Before Surgery?

Mine was 2-week diet of "their" food. Mainly liquid, but some Pasta every night. I lost 15lbs during that time. Did I cheat. Yes, brazilian steakhouse, a grilled cheese sandwich, and 2-tablespoose of pulled pork. Mind you, my cheat occured 6-days to 1week before my surgery.
