  1. I was sleeved 3/9. 7 months ago today and after losing 60' date=' I have not lost a lb in the last month. I heard about the 6 month honeymoon period but this is ridiculous! I have 15-20 lbs to get to goal :( Off to zumba to try and sweat off a few ounces![/quote']

    Hi there!

I'm at a stall too.. I was sleeve march 19, 2012, I'm down 77 lbs but since Christmas I haven't lost anything! I'm 15-20 lbs away from goal too. Have you broken your stall yet?

  2. Thank you! My surgeon and his partners have done 1000's' date=' but it still seems experimental to me. I have been reading stories from others that had it about nausea, Constipation, dehydration, dizziness...I can't have that, I have 3 kids and I care for my elderly father! The nutritionist told me that with all 3 surgeries, you are able to eat the same amounts...do you think that is true?[/quote']

    Hi pebbles!

I was in your shoes a few months ago.. So scared and all I thought about was my 3 kids! I choose the sleeve over the band bc of the amazing results and I did alot of research and found it to be overall safe.

I don't regret doing it for a minute..

Who is your surgeon? I'm from jersey too. My surgeon was dr. Goyal, he's amazing!

  3. Read this and thought maybe I had started this topic lol. I am 4 weeks started stalling at 3. I too am not losing. I did start with a low BMi but still. I have only lost 14 since surgery. Started at 163 now I am 149. Whoa just typing that made me realize I am doing okay. Hmmmm well guess the stall is what is bothering me the most. Help'nb

I wish I was 163 lol that's great! I hope this stall breaks soon.. Ive stared to do Protein shakes again hoping it will help.

  4. I am also in the same place as you. I was a lapband to VS revision. I went from 250 to 160 in three years. During the wait I gained 30lbs and now I'm waiting for the weightloss to start. I'm currently at 181and not budging. With the lap band I would go through monthes of no movement. I did a bunch of research and it is the starvation mode and the bodies set point. Don't stress over it' date=' it will happen when your body is ready. Look up these things, maybe it will make you feel better as it did for me. Good luck.[/quote']

Wow congrats on all your weight loss!

It's so stressful :( plus I'm not having bowl movements (tmi sorry lol) and right now I'm waiting for my period n I feel

    Sooo bloated ugh.

  5. I am with you all' date=' just finished week 3 and have only lost 13 pounds since surgery. I am frustrated and wonder if this is really going to work for me. It also doesn't help that I have bronchitis too. I think I'm a little depressed. I was so excited to get the surgery and just watch the weight drop off and it just isn't happening. I think my expectations were way tooo high.[/quote']

Mine were to high too.. I've read all these stories if people loosing so much. I hope you feel better soon and try not to get depressed, from what everyone says this is all normal! :)

  6. Thank you bella! You're right where everyone stalls so take hope that it will pass! Biggest things I can pass on to new slivers are:

Try and stay off the scale if you can' date=' it will only determine your moods.

    MEASURE MEASURE MEASURE!!

The very first thing you ever eat should have Protein in it. At ALL times. Make sure its your make food source. I did not stay away from carbs or sugars on purpose, it just kind of happened because by the time I had my few bites of protein, I was full and didn't want the rest!

Good luck to you, a year from now, you'll be where I am today![/quote']

Thank you I hope so! Congrats to you!!

  7. I did the same thing. I lost 12 pounds the first week and then nothing weeks 2 and 3. I had a post-op visit with my surgeon at week 3 and he told me I had to eat 1000 calories a day to lose weight. I was getting in around 600 - 800 a day. I up'd my calories and the scale started moving. I try to eat six times a day and track my calories and protien on myfitnesspal.com. I know it's hard to eat much at this stage but if you eat often and focus on protien rich foods it can be done. I've read a lot of posts from people who never eat more than 600 calories a day but this works for me. I hope you find what works for you. Good luck :)

Thank you for your advice! I will try to track everything. It just gets hard bc I have 3 small children who take up most of my time. :)

  8. I am in the same boat. I'll be three weeks post op tomorrow. I lost 23 lbs week one and not a single pound since then. I would had thought this was way too soon to stall. I do think there's something with the whole Protein and Water thing though so I started really pushing myself today. I got in my first full Protein shake today and have been sipping my Water so I hope it all makes a difference. Hang in there ladies...we are going to make this thing work for us!!!

23 pounds is great! Congrats! I've lost 18 in the 3 weeks. Everyone says this is normal but I swear I feel like this isn't going to work for me and I'm going to fail.

  9. I'm in a similar situation. I'm almost at 4 weeks and I don't think I've lost more than a pound or two in the last two weeks. It's incredibly frustrating.

What i'm being told is that 1) I'm not drinking enough Water and 2) I'm not eating enough Protein. These two things are likely making my body hold on to all my calories (aka "starvation mode").

Up until now I hadn't been tracking what I ate because I was eating so little. Well' date=' now I realize I need to track to make sure I'm eating (and drinking) enough.

    I hope this helps![/quote']

Makes sense! Are you on soft foods?

  10. Do not worry' date=' this is quite common and normal. You're not doing anything wrong. :) The third week stall can last even up to 5 weeks is usually the most I've heard from anyone. Anything longer it seems maybe someone might need to diligently start looking into any problems.

Anyhow, just keep pushing your fluids, keep walking and always stay positive and patient in the process. This is a long journey, you will have to keep fighting the temptation of impatience.[/quote']

Oh gosh I hope it doesn't last 5 weeks lol.. I will def take your advice. Thank you :)
