  1. I get the hiccups when I'm full. As soon as I hiccup my friends and/or family fight for my leftovers!! LOL I also tried on boots today and was able to fit them over my calves!! I'm so excited to dress for the fall. Good luck this is definitely the journey of a lifetime.

I was sleeved last year and I was happy to put on boots that wasn't stretchy. I am still amaze that I can wear size medium and some small blouses. I also like the fact that I can wear bracelets.

  2. Yes' date=' exactly! I'm pretty sure everyone has doubts for a while after surgery, but I"m talking about the people that really, truly believe they made the wrong decision and are unhappy with their choice to have the surgery.[/quote']

I think that people who are truly unhappy are mostly the ones that have complications. I have a friend that had the gastric bypass and she us only two months and she was telling me how she are a three piece chicken for dinner. Just over the weekend she said she are an entire super sonic cheeseburger. She feels like she wasted whatever portion of money she had to shell out. My thing is if a person is trying to lose weight why even order the stuff in the first place. By to the topic I have also read people regretting his or her surgery because he or she cannot consume large amounts of food. I have no regrets other than I need to lower my carb intake so that I can reach my goal by July 24th....I'm happy I don't have to shop in plus size anymore.

  3. I like your exercises! Your weight will increase as you put on lean muscle. Are you able to get your body fat percentage measured. The same thing happened to me after doing a similar set of exercise in cross fit training and put on about 10 lb after reaching my low weight. My body actually looks better in terms of body composition with these extra 10 lbs so it doesn't concern me too much. Also : If you supplement with amino acids' date=' such as creatine, your muscles will be hydrated with Water. This is not such a bad thing because the Water will help your muscles repair faster. I do not know for certain, but I think the water will flush in time.[/quote']

Thanks fiddleman, I get to see my surgeon tomorrow and hope to find out what my body fat percentage is at that time. I'm now nine months out and had loss 72 lbs but I notice all of a sudden I'm picking up weight. I started working on body muscle and strength because I'm trying to get a job that require strength. People say they can tell I'm doing something and my significant other said its looking good on me. I just want to lose another 30 lbs but since I picked up I want to lose maybe 40

  4. I have read that building muscle adds weight and i wonder if I am experiencing that gain. It's like over the pass three weeks I have gain 10 lbs... I know that part of that is Water weight because I have been retaining Fluid. So my question is will I eventually start back losing weight? I'm thinking about slacking up. I do push-ups, wall-sits, planks, squats, sit-ups, & very little weights (curls)

  5. Stay encouraged everyone. I am also what some will say a slow loser but as of two days ago I am down 70 lbs @ 7.5 months. As a matter of fact my coworkers was just complimenting on my weight loss and how small I have gotten. I have stalled at least a month and a half twice. I was sad at first because I was reaching each goal at a certain point but I shouldn't have been beating up on myself. For the first time in years I bought a size medium shirt and 10 in pants. The 10's are a little tight but another 10 to 15 lbs and they will fit perfect. I'm learning to embrace myself. Best of success everyone.

  6. I have told some people that I do Protein and exercise. The people that I have told are the people that support me. My ex boyfriend seems to keep saying I took the easy way out and it's not. I had to tell the idiot that I too still have to watch what I eat and exercise. Just a few days ago someone was on Facebook slamming someone because she had wls. Apparently the person that had the surgery was trying to tell the other person to have the surgery. I pick and chose who I want to know because some people are judgmental and I don't take negativity to well.

  7. chika your rock and you ae so right. i am a size 16 now not a 26 so i am happy also. my work uniform wwent from a jacket 24 to a 16 my skirt was a 26 now a 18. so i guess that is good

New grandmother that is awesome. I feel like I should be further along at 7 months out. I am only down about 65 lbs or so. What makes me feel good is how little people say I am. I am also pear shaped. I need to lose another 45 lbs if I want to get to my original goal, however my entire family and friends say I don't need to go that far. So I'm thinking maybe another 25 lbs. my boyfriend is always teasing about how small my butt is compared to what it was when we first met. I have to laugh at him. Needless to say we are all rocking our sleeve.

  8. Yes' date=' weight can fluctuate by pounds in a day. I'm sorry to say this is very normal ... you are not unique.

Are you wanting to lose weight or lose fat? Stop using the scale as it only measures weight. Your real barometer should be how clothes feel on you, measurements and how you feel overall. I weighed myself once a month and always saw a loss so I didn't get that head-spin, what's wrong with me discouragement. That type of thinking will only sabotage your effort, so stop torturing yourself.

Your body converts calories to glycogen which is stored in your liver and muscles. Glycogen has weight. When glycogen is stored in your muscles, it must bond in a 4 to 1 ratio with Water, so if your body stores one extra pound of glycogen than it did the day before, with the Water, it will actually be 5 pounds. As far as fat and all that ... 1 pound of weight = 3,500 calories. If you burn 3,500 calories more than you take in, then you lose a pound. Eat 3,500 calories more than your burn, you gain a pound.

So, you gained 4 pounds in one day. Do you think you consumed 4 x 3,500 = 14,000 more calories than you burned? Most likely not. Do you believe that those 4 pounds are 4 pounds of fat? Most likely not.

If you have been reading the boards I'm sure you have seen this over and over again. Get rid of the scale. It can only hurt you.[/quote']

Don't think it's a like button on this phone but your comment was very well said. I'm not where I want to be at this point in my journey but as of five months out, I am down 59 lbs and loving it. Hope to be down at least 15 more by month end. If I'm only down 10 then I will take the 10 and add it to my previous loss. I so love the new me.

  9. Take you time! Everyone is different don't worry. I'm about to be 6months out' date=' and to be honest, Soups and soft foods are still a go to comfortable food to eat. And because its mostly liquid, it seems like your eating more lol! Seriously though, don't rush yourself. When I look back on it, it seemed like such a rush to eat normal foods, when really, it isn't! Don't push yourself, take your time and the results will come.[/quote']

    So true.

So true. I just had my three month post-op at nearly four months out and my doc said my Protein was a little low and I should drink more shakes. Its like I eat soft foods because its more tolerable. I guess I could also go back to using the food processor for meat.

  11. So' date=' I was in Walmart and decided to just look at the Protein foods section in the pharmacy department. I knew they sold Protein bars, but I had never tried any (I used to only shop in the candy bar section). I saw a very large variety of bars, some with as much as 20 grams of protein per bar and low carbs! I was just wondering if these can be used in place of shakes later on? I sure could see myself enjoying a "caramel nut bar" vs. another shake.[/quote']

Yes those are great. I buy the Atkins but the ones that are use during phase one of the Atkins diet. I also bought those during my pre-op diet.
