  1. Mina - thanks for the response! You are absolutely right. I need to up the amount of physical activities in my daily routine. I burned off calories like crazy in the first couple of months. I didnt even do much in terms of workout at that time. Just walking 5 miles a day.

Last month I started doing zumba on weekends. So much fun! But I know I havent been as commited to my workout regimen as I should be. I guess that's gotta change if I hope to lose atleast 4 lbs a month going forward!

I've reached my surgeon's goal of 165. My first goal is 150. I hope I get there within my surgiversary!

  2. On the 11th of Nov, I'll be 10 months post op officially. My weight loss has slowed down quite a bit. This month, I had to work my behind off to lose 6lbs. So I'm just curious to know how much you guys lost (monthly) when you neared your surgiversary.

I know everyone loses differently and there are various factors like your starting weight, current BMI etc that influences the weight loss. But I'm just trying to get a general idea of what seems to be the average for 10 months p.o.

  3. Hi all,

Who's the newest member of the Century Club? ME!!! :D

My ticker is set to show my starting weight as 261.8 - but that was actually my surgery weight. My pre-op diet started when I weighed 272. So as of Oct 5th, I broke the 100lb mark and have entered the century club!

This is such a wonderful feeling! That it did not happen overnight (as I dreamed it would, at the beginning of this journey), and I had to work hard to shed each of those 100lbs make me feel so proud. For the first time, I feel like I've earned all the WOWs that I hear from friends and family! Every icky drop of Protein shake that I have consumed in the last few months is so worth it LOL

My next short-term goal is to be under 163 lbs -- which will put me at 74 kgs -- that will be a 50kg lost in total! I'm looking forward for that day, coz I think I may finally get the courage to post my before/after pics on that day! So excited! :)

So yeah -- just wanted to share this happy news with my sleeve family and wish all of you the best of luck in this journey!

See you all soon with another SV post!!!!

  4. My friend and I work in the same office. I and her boss were introduced last year and though we dont move in the same circles (he is a VP), we do chat with each other when we meet in the cafeteria and such. Today, my friend stopped by my desk and told me that he spoke to her about my weight loss. She said that he was very impressed and wanted to congratulate me but was worried if it was okay for him to talk to me about that. He had asked her opinion about whether I would be okay receiving that compliment. I told her I LOVED hearing any and every compliment that came my way LOL

So yeah, many notice the weight loss but are reluctant to comment on it fearing that it would be taken in a wrong sense - especially with women, for some reason.

  5. Agree with Nate -- Docs know best!

I'm not very physically active, so I can only think of one hurdle -- at around 9 weeks out, I still had to sip on the Water and not take huge gulps. After gym I always found it a bit ifficult to rein in my thirst and NOT guzzle down bottles of Water. If you are able to drink water at a normal pace, I think you should be fine. Be sure to stay hydrated though!!
