Nsv - I Got A Job! Multiple Offers!
VJSlim replied to SKCUNNINGHAM's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That is AWESOME! Congrats!! I feel very excited for you!! I love that your weight loss has boosted your self-confidence. That is exactly what I'm looking for in my weight loss journey. I know exactly what it feels like to carry that extra baggage of 100+ lbs to your interviews. I was almost 200lbs when I graduated from college. The good thing was, I was a campus recruit. So I only had to compete with people I knew. There were just 170 of us graduating that year and it was easy to be one of the winners. I dread to think what would have happened if I hadn't been recruited in my final year of college. My state produces more than 200,000 engineering graduates a year. I would have had an EXTREMELY hard time competing with them! -
Sleeved Today@ 11!
VJSlim replied to Sergeant_Hotsauce's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Happy to hear that you are doing well! Wish you a speedy recovery!! -
Wow - I was the total opposite. I was sleeping for nearly 4 hours every afternoon (apart from my almost 10hrs sleep at night). This lasted for nearly 4 weeks post op. Like Shapeshifter said, I think this may just be temporary. BUT, knowing that sleep is very important for recovery, you could try callling your surgeon and ask for something that you can take to help you sleep comfortably.

Omg All Booked And Ready To Go... Why Am I Freaking Out.
VJSlim replied to mkardh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Not sure about the leak question. I had to take a month's time off from work. I was very fatigued during the first 3 weks. I needed mid-day naps to energize myself. But I know a couple of my doc's patients who recovered very fast. They got back to work in like 15 days. Hope you have a safe surgery, speedy recovery and awesome weight loss! -
Awesome! Congrats! I cant wait to enter onederland!!!

Ah the dreaded 3 week stall. Dont worry - almost everyone here has gone through this. Keep doing everything you are supposed to. The stall will break pretty soon and your scale will move

So Grateful For This Forum
VJSlim replied to gettinthinner's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
So true! You guys have been like an extended family for me. I look for your support whenever I feel low (usually when the scale doesnt move for weeks together). Though I have a loving family that supports me all the way, it really makes a difference when you chat with someone who has gone through this and can relate to us. Love you all, you wonderful angels!!! -
I have no idea about others. Everyone loses differently. I lost 44 pounds. Not as much as most people here. But I'm a slow loser and I have come to terms with that Oh and I'm only 5 ft tall, so my BMI is huge

That is soooo awesome!! I'm so looking forward to THIS addiction!! Congrats on your super cool NSV!!

What Advice Would You Give Someone Preparing For Vsg?
VJSlim replied to Iamreallydoingthis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

94 Pounds Gone! Before & After Pictures
VJSlim replied to MSanti's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
You look AMAZING!!! Here I am, looking at your 'after' shot, and I realize that you are just 8lbs lesser than me. And I'm thinking: "GOD, please let me be atleast half as good-looking at 204lbs!" -
I cant stand the thought of eating sweets any more. And that's a totally weird concept for me coz I used to be a chocolate addict. Not a single day went by without me consuming chocolate in some form or other. But now, I actually feel nauseated at the very thought of chocolate. I sometimes miss it but I'm happy to pay the price!

What Advice Would You Give Someone Preparing For Vsg?
VJSlim replied to Iamreallydoingthis's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Good topic! and that is a great list! Here is my 2 cents: 1. Try out some Protein shakes pre-op. Believe me - I wish I had done this first. I hate buying brand after brand and having to finish off some really bad-tasting stuff just because of the money that I spent. I hear you can buy sample packs in US. I wish I had the option in India. 2. DONT weigh yourself every other day. I learned a very hard lesson. I used to weigh myself every three days or so in the beginning. I really didnt see any movement and got discouraged. I know it will be very tempting in the beginning. So if you could do like a weekly weighing it will help you keep your sanity LOL 3. Measure inches. All around. Who ever knew you could pack fat around your ankles?! 4. Ask a LOT of questions to your surgeon. Do major research. This is not a light decision to make. Make sure you make an informed decision. 5. Get yourself a support group -- your close family or friends or fellow sleevers. This forum is a great support system for me. -
Awesome! Congrats! My very first NSV too was a normal BP!

That is sooo awesome! Congrats! I'm just 3 months out and losing weight slowly. These success stories inspire us all and keep us motivated. I hope I have great weight loss by my one year surgiversary too!
-
Today is my 3 month surgiversary and I now weigh 99 kgs (217.8lbs). This is a huge scale victory for me, because I have not been in the two-digits for more than 4 yrs. Just wanted to share my happiness with you. I wouldnt have had the will power to push through this journey without the support from this community. I LOVE you all and my sincere thanks for your advice and encouragement!!!!

LOL that is funny! So I read your blog and see your surgery is on May 22. Excited? I wish you a safe surgery, speedy recovery and successful weight loss!!!

Sleeved 4/11---Back To Work Today
VJSlim replied to waistnaway's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW! Already? I did not go back to work for 5 weeks. I was pretty tired during the first 4 weeks. Had to take naps in the afternoon to recharge my batteries LOL. Amazing that you are able to work so soon after surgery. But do take it easy -- and all the best for recovery and weight loss!!! -
That is so awesome! Congrats!
-
Thank you so much! And all the best to reach your goals!!
-
My surgeon did not set any goal for me, so I set one for myself -- the higest range of 'Normal' BMI. If your surgeon did not set any goal for you, did you set one for yourself? And what made you choose that number?
-
Lissa has pretty much covered everything. Here's mine: Find yourself a good support system. Someone who will push you when you really dont feel like exercising or walking etc. I and a friend (who is also my collegue) have an open bet - we have agreed to compare our daily walking. As I'm a bit competitive, this drives me to walk everyday. My treadmill has never seen so much action in years! LOL AND - post here often. This forum has done wonders for me! People here keep you motivated!

6 Weeks Post Op, Stall, Inches Lost, Onderland
VJSlim replied to Jesusislove's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Awesome! Congrats on your success! It should be a great feeling to see dramatic inch losses in just 6 weeks! I did not measure inches pre-op, so I dont have the 'correct' measurements. I just felt my dresses getting looser. At three months post op I can definitely see the changes in my appearance now. But I have 18 more pounds to lose to get to onderland.
