I was doing so well until last week. Had my surgery 3/9 and got down to 239 from 298 pre op. Last week my husbands kid and grand kids visited. We went out to eat all week. I ate mainly chicken and have learned what getting full feels like. Threw a lot of food away. I was under a lot of stress and not journaling but cant believe a gain of 10 lbs. Has this happened to anyone else? Any advise is greatly appreciated.

I know this is unusually high number and not to expect it again. I'm really ready to enjoy this journey and watch the weight come down.

Thank you so much my sleeve friends.

I told my doc pre op that I wanted to be his very best patient and do everything he told me to do. So far the only thing I haven't been able to do is get all my Protein in.

Omg. May I ask how tall you are?

Start of program 298

OMG!!! I'm so happy.
The only problem I'd been having is getting Protein in. I asked my doc today if I could start eating soft eggs and he gave me the ok. Just not to overfill my stomach. I had my first egg after my appt and I'm soooo excited.
I hope that you all can feel the joy in my heart right now for yourselves.
Wishing everyone the very best.
My screen name is 1 bumblebee. But I would love for all of you to know...I go by MeeMee.

Hey time for me now. I am 8 days post op and I haven't weighed myself yet. I hope I'm as successful as you. Congrats. I'm waiting for my post op appt.

Before my surgery I frankly asked my nutritionist which was more important...protein or Water. She said water. I have an aversion to most dairy products. I tried all kinds of Protein powders and so I stick with Isopure and water. I do feel lethargic throughout the day so I'm trying hard to focus on all the other things. Supplemental Vitamins, water and sf pudding. That's about it.

[quote=Lisa ]At that stage I had Lipton Creamy chicken....the one that comes dry in the packets and you add Water. I would then mix it in a Blender Bottle with a scoop of unflavored Protein powder (I used Isopure Unflavored and I couldn't taste it). I usually had that 2 to 3 times a day. I also purchased a coffee cup warmer on Amazon for about 7 bucks so that it would stay warm since it took me so long to drink it.
Did that make you full and sustain you.

I really like the Progresso Light Soups and Cambell's Select Harvest. Are those considered cream soups? I bought cream of chicken, cream of ..., I didn't know that the other soups counted. Do they make you feel full? Sorry for the tons of questions. Just not getting that full feeling that could sustain me.

Sorry hit the button to soon. 6 days post op and no movement. For someone who was always regular, 5 days (even if not much is in there) feels very uncomfortable.

I posted the same question in the post op section and was told that milk of magnesia would do the trick. I'm going to buy some today cuz I am 6 days post op and

Hi realwmn I'm so excited for you. Take it one day at a time and next thing you'll know you'll be rolling ou of surgery.

Congrats. Definitely love that morphine. Make sure you keep up with the pain. I managed a mile or 2 a day while in the hospital. Now that I am at my brothers, the weather is horrible and I have no treadmill. I get up and walk around the dining room table several times and downstairs and back up again. Wish I were home home so I could at least use my treadmill. Keep up the good work and continue your super speedy recovery.

Ok...this is not a subject I usually bring up to strangers but I guess you are all my sleeve sisters and brothers. After surgery, when did you have your first BM? And...how long should one wait before talking to the doctor? FYI I had my surgery on the 9th have been taking stool softeners bot still nothing.

I had tried a bunch of Protein Shakes and did the dry heaves (tmi) with everyone of them. So far the only thing I have been able to tolerate has been Isopure. I just have to make sure I don't smell it. The smell of the whey Protein gets me every time. The taste is not so bad. Another thing I do is add powdered fat free milk to my sugar free pudding to up the protein. Hope some of these ideas help.

Thanks suite bliss for asking this question. I am on day 4 and tomorrow I'm going on full liquids. I am already struggling. It doesn't help that my brother and his girlfriend have all sorts of junk food around the house. I'm stuck at his house for another 2 weeks...the most difficult time. Everyone else who replied I can't thank you enough. I hope I can get to the stage of being supportive like you folks are.

Thanks for the prayers. Sorry I didn't get back to you all sooner. My cell phone died. I came home yesterday (to my brothers) and was settling in. MIL doing fine. Husband is too. I just need a little more recuperation time so I can handle the 5 hour drive home.
