Wish you luck!!! Keep me posted I got my surgery date 2/20/13.

After a long year of waiting I finally got my clearance for surgery I'm scheduled Feb 20. I'm a bit nervous, scared and even second guessing it. In the past year I lost 30 lbs on my own and focused on me to prepare me for this day why do I feel this way?

After almost a long hard year of trying to lose weight on my own again I decided to have the sleeve. I was able to lose 43 lbs however gained back 10. Its been a 12 year up and down weight journey that is taking a toll on my body. I did all my pre open tests last year everything is good to go just need psych eval and thats it I will be sleeved hopefully by my 41st bday which is Jan 31. That will be my gift to myself.

I'm looking for local friends jn tue Whitestone,Bayside, Flushing area, who are either starting the process to get sleeved or already had the sleeve surgery. Looking for support, advice, recipes and workout buddy.

I got the call yesterday my psychiatrist conditionally approved me if I meet some goals I was upset bit understood her concerns. I rather get the extra help now then fail later on. Hopefully in two months I will be OK.

It sucks just the waiting part. I had no idea my therapist could have done this where can I get a questionare?

I have been waiting for over a month for mine to clear this is the only thing holding my surgery back. Just because I told her I was seeing a therapist for marriage counseling now she wants to pull records from everywhere. Did anyone have a problem with the psych evaluation? What were some of the reasons and how did you convince your psychiatric that you need this surgery?

I'm going with Dr. Gellman at Northshore Surgical he is great. The surgical scheduler Yvonne is very knowledgeable and attentive. Anyone heard of them. I'm still waiting for the psych clearance everything else is done.

I agree everytime I start antibiotics I get a YI the best natural way for me is to put plain yogurt on the site it relieves the burning itchy feeling and it restores the natural bacteria needed to fight the YI. It works everytime for me.

I just had a boob reduction and lift and its been a smooth ride. Thanks to makemeheal.com they have excellent supplements for pre op and post op which helped tremendously. I have no real pain just soreness no bruising or swelling. Check it out it very informative site.

I am also 5'1 and weigh about 220 ish and suffer from back pain so I know exactly what you mean. A few people have told me you don't look fat you will be fine, they don't understand the nightmare I live daily with pain and pressure. Anyhow the good news is I finally finished all my pre op testings yesterday 2 weeks of back to back doctors I look back and don't know how I did it but I did. Now waiting for all the results and surgery date, can't wait. I have empire BCBS thank god no waiting. All I can tell you the tine will fly by and before you know it you are sleeved. I can't wait for the day I get on this and say I'm sleeved yeahhhhhh.
