    Where are the 50s ???

Kat, so sorry to here your smile is not back yet. My prayers are that it will start healing quicker than they anticipated. I know what you mean about those feelings. I can't decide if I'm hungry, nauseous, or food stuck somewhere. I'm trying to ignore the feelings in my stomach most of the time, and pretend it is just very confused, lol.

Seems like if they don't want to complete the agreement they should be willing to give you a refund.

    Where are the 50s ???

Hi all. It has been awhile since I have posted. Been out of town. I guess I am 5 weeks out now and just shy of 30 lbs. Everything has been going pretty well for me. I am released to eat what I want now, which is not much. Still having problems feeling queazy after I eat, and at times loosing everything I eat. Overall feeling pretty good though. Kat, you are still in my prayers. Are you getting better? Have they finished the vinegar cleans routine? Best of luck to those of you preparing for surgery.

    Where are the 50s ???

I was up and walking every few hours in the hospital the first day. Very little pain. Very tired the first 1 - 1.5 weeks. Basically lived on water and sugar free popsicle's the first week. The doctor told me if I couldn't get protein in the first week not to worry about it, to focus on getting the fluids in. At three weeks out I am on mushy soft foods. I am still having problems getting enough protein in. So far since surgery I can't stand any of my protein drinks. I have not been able to keep my food down about 6 times since going to mushies. Yesterday was a pretty good day, I was able to keep down about 375 calories, 30 carbs, 13 fats, and 37 proteins. My energy has been very good. I ride a bicycle several times a week doing around 5 miles each time at a leisurely pace. Trying to up that to 10 miles per ride. I am not losing as fast as I had hoped, but maybe it is because I am not eating enough and my body is in starvation mode, not sure. I have not been hungry at all.

    Where are the 50s ???

Welcome Vikki and best wishes sent your way. The liquid and protein is especially important after the surgery. I am 3 weeks post op and finding it very difficult to get in my protein and fluids in. Can't wait to hear how you do.
  9. It is a drag but will be over before you know it.

    Can You Blend Anything?

I boiled some shrimp, then blended it (about two cups) with about .5 cups of sour cream and about 2 Tbl. of cocktail sauce and 2 Tbl bread & butter Jalapenos. It was about the consistancy of a cracker spread and tasted very good.
  11. Hi all, we are coming up to the end of the month when all of our group will be sleeved! YEAH! Overall doing pretty well. Since going to mushies have thrown up 3 times. Can't get much in.

Kat, just hate you are facing this. Makes me feel even more blessed by the great hospital I went to. I know there will be an end to the problems you are experiencing. You are in my thoughts and prayers every day until you are feeling better.

    Where are the 50s ???

Hi everyone. So sorry to hear about some of the issues some of you have and are facing. I have been very blessed and lucky I think. I went on a 6 mile bike ride on Saturday, which felt great! and went swimming saturday and sunday. I am 3 weeks out tomorrow and am down 21 lbs. Most of that was the first week. Since then I am losing 2-3 lbs, but at least I am losing. I may not be getting in enough calories. I think I am running about 500, and I'm sure I'm no where near my protein quota. Trying to get in a bit more today. I will record in a food tracker and check that out. Have a great evening!

    Where are the 50s ???

I am really enjoying the bike rides, and driving down streets around where I live that I normally don't drive down. Plus you see more than you do when you are driving. Plus getting some sun and fresh air. Great exercise and knee friendly, lol.
  16. Day 11 post-op. Down 20 lbs. Rode my bike 4.17 miles in 95 degrees! Fortunately I did have my water bottle, so I kept hydrated. Hoping for a good loss tomorrow.

    Where are the 50s ???

Obtained a water bottle for my bicycle, enabled me to ride 4.17 miles today without stopping! It was about 95 out, so I couldn't have made it without my water. (Didn't think I was going to make it home with the water, lol). YEAH Next try for 5 miles. My goal is to ride in the Tour De Pepper bike ride next year, which is 9 mile, 34 mile, or 70 mile ride. Eventually I would like to do the 70 mile ride. It is in Dublin, TX and benefits children.

    Where are the 50s ???

Rode my bike about two miles a little bit ago. Don't have a water bottle holder on it yet, and it feels really hot out. (Think it is only 90 though). Had to stop to come in the house and re-hydrate and cool off, then I will be back out again.
  19. OK, Day eight. I'm getting the water and protein in better now, though still not up to goal. I also have not had much pain I think I have taken either one or two since I came home. Today I rode my bicycle 3 miles. I have lost the 10 lbs I gained plus 7 more lbs so far. All is good, thank the Lord!
