Trying This Again....
As many of you know I was scheduled to be sleeved on 3/1...but because of my wonderful allergies and them inflaming my sinuses it was rescheduled to Monday 3/5. I need all the positive thoughts and prayers that the surgery happens thus time...I don't think I can handle another delay.

- Is Stretching A Real Concern? How Do You Avoid It?
According to my Dr you can stretch it out but never to the size it was. Most people stretch to max 8-10 ounces.....which is still less than a 1/4th of the old size- Whoohoo
Sinus drainage and the occasional cough....rescheduled for Monday.- Whoohoo
I guess I'm just meant to be fat...surgery cancelled because of sinuses.- Whoohoo
Well I'm about to walk out of my house for the last time with my normal stomach...so many things going through my head...mostly though, what it will be like to actually lose the weight and keep it off!- One More Day!
My date is tomorrow as well and like you I have had some doubts and questions...I am feeling much better about it today and am looking forward to shoving my hind end onto that losers bench! We are all going to get through this with amazing grace and will be pushing full steam ahead before we know it. If it hadn't been for several people on here telling me this whole thing was normal I probably would have backed out.- Less Of Leslie
That dress looks AWESOME on you!!! Congrats!- What A Difference A Day Made!
So yesterday I went in for all my preop testing and fun stuff. I got to meet some of the nurses that will be tending to me after my surgery tommorrow and let me tell you I feel SO much better! Yesterday I was sort of freaking out and was actually considering cancelling the surgery...then I went to the hospital....MUCH better now! I can't WAIT! Surgery is scheduled for 8:30 AM and since I am the first one on the schedule I shouldn't get pushed. The nurses were even saying that my doctor is known for starting his surgeries early. That makes me happy! The sooner, The better! Ready to roll on into that OR and roll out on the losers bench!!- Holy Crap!
I know it is totally normal to feel that way....it's why I keep trying to focus on all the positives....and all the things that I will be happier doing... This will sound retarded to most...but for those of us who are larger may understand...the thing that I am looking forward to the most is wearing some 6 inch heels and not feeling like I am going to break my neck...or an ankle...I may splurge and buy me a most awesome pair when I get to that stage!- Holy Crap!
2 more days until I get to really get started losing my 240 pounds! I so can't wait! I am getting pretty nervous/scared though.- Shut Up 7 Months Out And 81Lbs Down W/ Pics And I Feel Amazing !
you look FANTASTIC! I can only hope to look as good if I ever get to your current weight!- Low Cost Texas Options?
My doctor is in Houston and his cost is $11700.00 for everything, all preop tests, a 1 night stay in the hospital and the first 2 post ops. It may be cheaper since you more than likely wouldn't be using the post op visits. Dr. Alanis is his name. He and his staff are FANTASTIC! They take the time to talk to me and explain anything I don't understand.- I Have A Lot To Lose!
I'm so looking forward to it...I am kinda scared though.- I Have A Lot To Lose!
How much did you weigh day of surgery and when was your surgery?- I Have A Lot To Lose!
I have the exact same stats as you. 5'7" and 440 lbs. I want to get to 160 but will be happy with anything. I'm on the preop right now and have lost almost 10 lbs. My surgery is scheduled for 3/1. I'm nervous but so looking forward to it.- Anyone Getting Sleeved On Leap Day With Me?
Im getting nervous to! I have to keep telling myself that it's a nervous excitement, or Im scared I will chicken out!- Anyone Getting Sleeved On Leap Day With Me?
Mine is the very next day! 3/1! I can't wait!!!- Morning Wood
I thoroughly enjoyed reading that! Thank you for the morning chuckle!- I Want To See What 125Lbs Looks Like.. Anyone Here That Size/weight?
I would think 140 would look good on your frame/height.- Pre-Op Diet And An Infected Tooth..
Great timing for me to have an infected tooth! Last week I lost about 3 pounds on the preop...then over the weekend when my tooth got infected and I couldn't eat anything cause the action of opening my mouth sent me into MAJOR pain..I dropped 10 lbs. Pretty dang AWESOME! Then I had my tooth extracted on Monday and the oral surgeon told me to eat soups, yogurt and generally follow a liquid diet...I started laughing and said...no problem...I have been for the last week anyways...I then told him that I was having WLS next week and he smiled and said good for you! The infected tooth is helping me stick to my diet...not the best NSV ever...but it's pretty awesome...- Coastal Bariatrics Myrtle Beach Sc
I call that the bait and switch!! The first surgeon I talked to about doing mine did the SAME thing...price during the seminar was 13K then when I went in for the consultation it was 17K not including any of the preop tests..which would have put it well over 19K...I called 50 other surgeons and found Dr. Alanis in Houston...whom personally I think is AWESOME...and his total cost including EVERYTHING is 12K. I signed up and my date is 3/1! I can't WAIT!! 9 more days! - Is Stretching A Real Concern? How Do You Avoid It?
