My test was a two day process. I was connected to a machine, while on the treadmill they inserted a dye in an IV.
The next text was like a CatScan (if I remember correctly) or X-Ray. The next day I went back and they did the same thing. That was it.

There was one person who specifically asked what I was doing. I told them, restraint and exercise. Both true. I also had a hernia repair so if they push that is what I will say. I was also on our WW at Work program. So some have asked if I was still doing WW.
I have been in the face of ridicule long enough. I'm not going to add to it with people who really don't mean me well.
I say do what is best for you.

If they are lactose and dairy free, what is the fat content. I tried the Atkins as my first Protein post-op because I knew I liked them, but initially it was the fat content that sent me to the BR. After that I stuck to Premiere Protein Shakes. But as someone mentioned try a powder with Water.< /p>

I'm in NWI, there is another forum here with others from southern or Indy area I do believe.

I picked up a box from Sam's on yesterday. Can't wait to try them. I can smell the seasonings through the box.
Laura-Ven, how did you prepare them?

Wow' date=' you are only going to Purees.. Crazy! Every doc is different though. I got to start eating regular food after 3 weeks. I bet it is driving you crazy![/quote']
I did well, didn't veer off course and it has paid off. Treated myself to some sugar free pudding tonight! What a treat! :-)

Hello All' date='Super excited that I found this group... I am 25 years old and have been considering weightless surgery for years. I started in Feb 2013 on my journey and there have been so many bumps in the road. Currently I am on a Quest to lose 30 pounds before my surgery will give me a set date for my sleeve....I am currently doing 5 Protein Shakes and 1 healthy choice meal for dinner.... I have an amazing husband who has been completing this diet with me but I am scared that I won't be able to follow it for 6 weeks let alone lose the 30 pounds I need to. Just really looking for advice and support!!!![/quote']
I'm not sure what you plan will be after surgery, IMO that's a great deal of shakes. I'm glad that you are being pro active in getting it off. You will do it because that is what you have set your mind to. I clarify the a lot of shakes statements, because you will get burned out, especially if you have to continue them Pre-op and post- op. Trust me when I say. I did 2 a day from February 2012 until my Pre surgery diet, then continued with what was required. I will be 8 weeks out tomorrow. Per my surgeons plan I have 1 more week before I can get to puréed. If you didn't guess I'm doing Protein drinks!!!! Sooooo tired of them now. Never though I would say that. I guess I'm just ready to progress.
Again you can do it when your mind is made up! I didn't think I could go 9 weeks on protein, creamed Soups and Water. That's basically my nourishment.
Much success to you!

I will be 8 weeks out tomorrow! Can I share that the last few days have been tough!!! My senses are reawakened and I smell every aroma from every restaurant around me. I live behind the mall so, you can imagine, I'm having it pretty bad! :-( I had to go to the mall today foe a gift for my Mom and Cooper's Hawk was smelling divine! I don't even each steak!
Unofficially, I'm 33 lbs. down from day of surgery. I have my 2 mo. Post- op appt. on Wed. Usually, their scale shows more than mine, so that is why I say unofficial.

I slept on my sides immediately. That was the only way I could get sleep or relief from the gas pain. I should add this was after the anesthesia wore off enough for me to move. I was on my back until then.

I did this this weekend with a Hooters wing and some blue cheese dressing! I didn't have a blender handy' date=' but I stabbed it until it was chicken salad consistency. It was great!!! The meat from one wing and like 1tsp of sauce filled me up and went down smooth.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope when I do get to this phase that it won't be hard to made a decision!

I was sleeved on March 8th and I took a walk on the wild side this week. I tried a waking a boomer jacks and was able to eat 3 with no problems at all. I have a harder time with oatmeal.I would like to know as well. :-)

I think that was about the last time I had it as well. I kept saying that I was going to partake as one of my last pre-op meals but never did. I even got some of the lemon pepper sauce and brought it home to make my own wings. SMH...not the same but close enough.

Laura Ven,
I think I've seen you post about living in TX, is that correct? They have them there. If not, let me tell you they are a franchise wing restaurant. I really want to have my own franchise of them, that is how much I liked them.
I may try McSleevy's suggestion, but I'm not big on blended meats...
Here is the link...I hope this doesn't offend anyone. www.wingstop.com

I haven't tried this...BUT...haha! What if you got a couple of boneless wings and a little ranch and pureed it in the magic bullet? I imagine it isn't something you would want to do very often, but I would think it would be a way to get the flavor you want without compromising your sleeve. Let me know how it works if you try it!
McSleevy,
Haha...why might I just do this. This little craving may cost me more than I can eat. I have to drive to Illinois to buy the wings and purchase a food processor. This is going to a hoot and half!
I will let you know if I do, I have 3 weeks more before I can try it though!
Thank you for the suggestion!!

Thank you Tink,
Congratulations to you as well.
I have a good ways to go before I meet goal.

Congratulations ProudGrammy!
Haha, I still hide...hence no photo here. I just don't like how I photgraph. I know it is something special to document the loss, but I haven't really gotten there yet!

My license was due to expire on Wednesday, so I went in specifically to get my picture updated. Even the loss prior to surger showed a noticeable difference in my face.
Soooo, I go in and they are asking me all these questions. In the past, I only got the has anything changed question.
This time when the representative asked my weight, I whispered my new weight. Hahaha. It was 1 pound lower than what had been entered on my license for at least the last 10 years, a number that I hadn't been in at least that long or longer.
That was one of the highlights of my day...the other driving to Michigan by mistake because I missed by exit. Oh well, who cares....Ahaha.

I am 6 weeks and 5 days post op with 2 weeks more of my 2nd phase. When I reach phase 3, I still won't be on solid foods. I'm abiding by my Surgeon's rules and I'm taking it all in stride.
Every now and again a think of guacamole and pico de gallo. However, yesterday, I thought of Wingstop...those delicious Lemon Peppered Wings (bone-in) with Ranch dressing.
I doubt they will sell me just 1 wing...haha...think of all the Protein it will have.
-
I really want A boneless wing from Wingstop....a lemon pepper flavored one at that!

I'm starting to feel like I'm getting sick. I'm freezing and I have taken some liquid Tylenol. What else could I take that is liquid or chewable form?
I can call surgeon's office, but tomorrow. I just went back to work so I need to stay ahead of the game. Thank you in advance.

Hi All...
It's apparent that I haven't been here since the start of May. My avi still says its my birthday month!
Sigh...I have a meeting tomorrow with the NUT! scale is going up. As of yesterday, it went down but I need it to continue to go that way!
Having a hard time planning a meal that gives me my daily Protein totals without snacking! UGH!
Hope all of Fab Feb Sleevers are making it happen for them!
