Now I'm down 53 pounds. I had the surgery June 20th. 47 more to go. How are all of you doing now?

"I would post pictures of it here or email them, but after the recent youtube escapade, I'm way too leery to share anything that "exposed" on the internet at all."
What happened?

I really like striiv. It allows you to play games (walk more or take stairs) all day to win points. It is a great motivational tool! Thanks so much for that post! I researched it and I ordered one tonight.

Now that this thread had been refreshed, I'm craving more pics. Bring 'em on... Please...

I was pretty scared also. I have three young children too. I just kept thinking, if I'm scared of getting the sleeve, imagine how scared I'll be when I eventually have to have open heart surgery due to my obesity. That got me through.

Surgery June 20th.
Start weight was 215.
Weight now 166, down 49 pounds.
50 pounds to go to goal at 115 pounds.

My husband and I got the surgery within two weeks of each other. It has as been very helpful having someone to learn with. The one rub though is that my husband has lost 90 pounds, and I have lost 50. You cannot compare a man's loss to a woman's.

Down just 45 since June 20th, but I am 5 foot so it looks like a lot.
I had to return a bunch of clothes I bought two weeks ago for smaller sizes.
A pair of pants I wore in the spring fall to my ankles...

I would say, "I lost weight by eating less and exercising."
Perfect response!

Well, first day of school I put on the pants that I wore for work in the spring, and they dropped around my ankles. So I tried a pair I wore when I was a little thinner. Ankles. I had to really dig but found a pair that fit from about 8 years ago before my daughter was born.

What's your husband's opinion of the situation?

A kind of weird thought made me less nervous about the surgery. I just kept thinking about how much more fearful I would be if I was having open-heart surgery- a road I could have been headed down if I did not have the sleeve. It made me focus on the NECESSITY of the surgery, which seemed to help me.

I love looking at people's before and after photos for two reasons:
1. It is amazing to me to see the confidence difference in people from their before to their after picture. All of a sudden, people are wearing jewelry, they have on trendy clothes and big smiles. You can just see that their entire demeanor has changed. This is the main reason why I like to look at the before-and-after pictures.
2. This one is weird. I like looking at the backgrounds of people's pictures. I feel like I can get a general sense of who people are by looking at what's in the background of their pictures. It cracks me up how many people have crazy things in the backgrounds of their pictures, as they were posing for the camera.
Just saying...

It took him a few moments to recognize me but when he did he gave me a big hug and ready for it....told me how proud of me he was. WOW. What a role reverse that was but it was the greatest compliment I have received since my surgery. Thought I would share as we all head back to class as "new" teachers. -
Oh my word! Amazing! Love it!

Actually, My ticker says 38 pounds lost... Subtraction!

Ok, so as of this morning, it is 34 pounds in 62 days.
