    Ok Women?

C section was MUCH more pain, but with the sleeve I just generally felt kinda sick and off for at least a week. Apples and oranges...

    Paleo after surgery?

When my sister did strict paleo, her cholesterol went through the roof after 6 months.... Just something to watch.

    Passed out

Could it be low iron? You may want to try taking a separate iron pill...

    NSV shout outs

I am down 83 pounds as of June 20, 2012. My husband had the surgery also that same June. He is down about 120 pounds. We both look and feel great. Today, we went snowboarding with our kids. This was an impossibility last year at this same time. I was so happy that we gave our kids an experience that was so removed from food. (Also, I was able to fit in kids' sizes of snow clothes= cheaper!) So happy! (But man, oh, man, I am going to be pretty sore tomorrow!)

    Anyone using a Fitbit?

Check out the Striiv. I love it. The Striiv Play syncs to an iPhone. Very motivating.

    Why can't we donate blood?

Maybe because iron isn't absorbed as easily with the smaller stomach? So removing all of that blood could cause an iron deficiency? Just a guess on my part.

    Goat meat and spices!

Omg! Someone mail him a Peanut Butter cup! Then maybe he'll understand why so many Americans are obese!

    Sugar Free Apple Juice

Someone else just posted that Walmart has a sugar-free apple drink mix that tastes just like apple juice. It is near the Crystal Light mixes.

HELP! I need a good excuse!

Being overweight (obese in fact) has held so many of us back for so long. Let the surgery be a turning point for you. Get out there. Buy one more fancy "fat dress," and learn how to live a life where food and drink are no longer the focal point. No matter what excuse you give, it will smell of BS.

    Compression Garments

I also wear one everyday that goes from just under my bra to my knees. I found them at Costco. Flexees is the brand. I don't have as much loose skin as I was expecting, and I believe it is due in part to wearing these everyday and while sleeping.

    Gmanbat and wife, B&A pics

Awesome! My husband and I both had the sleeve in June. If you don't mind me asking, why did you guys choose different surgeries?

    June Roll Call

Welcome! My surgery was June 20, 2012 and I am down 77 pounds. I am 5 foot. I have 23ish left to go, but it is coming off so slowly now...
  24. I am a teacher outside of Philadelphia. I teach 3rd grade in a public elementary school. I had my surgery on June 20th. I did not tell anyone at school that I was having the surgery, and I will go back a changed person. Who else is in this position? Who else is a teacher? What and where do you teach?
