starting 243, goal 220

I am looking for advice to starting over. I had gained 20# back over the last year eating candy and icecream...i had no willpower, but i just found out i now have high blood pressure, so it was a wake up call to me to get back on track. all advice welcome. thanks:help:

I have upmc, it covered my band and all fills without problem. it didnt cover the nutritionist fee that you are forced to have.

I had reflux and heartburn for the first time after my last fill of 2.9 in a 4cc band. I suffered for 6 months, then went for an ugi with my doctor. he had to take out only 0.2cc and i was much better. no more reflux and cough. I used to wake up in the middle of the night coughing and gagging from reflux in my sleep 3 hrs after i went to bed.

when i asked my pcp about it a couple years ago, he told me it increased your chances of getting colon cancer. i tried it anyway and didnt lose enough to be worth it.

I am having the same trouble. I had my band in september and have been stuck at 30#. I get pain with meats even if i chew well so i know the band is tight enough, but i tend to nibble on other stuff too often because i dont feel full for long enough. My plan of action is too force more liquids between and lay off the flat diet dr pepper which triggers me to keep snacking.

I hope we can figure this thing out! I want to lose!

I look forward to:

sleeveless sundresses in the summer

being brave enough to go in a public pool

running into old friends (now i hide)

riding a real bike without fearing the brakes wont hold

squeezing into my dtr's clothes

not worrying if i will fit in the amusement park rides

my kids being proud of me !

I vote for chili too! I dont normally like anything spicy but it was satisfying and had the meat crumblets that filled me up. Also, it was convenient when i was out and about to go to the fast food drive thru (wendy's) .

Surgery isnt easy, but 2 days after you will be so happy you went thru it. Like having a baby, well worth the discomfort to get the end prize! we will be here for you.

I was given a prescription for axid, which is a substitute for prevacid, told to take it twice a day for 3 months, then no more. I did find out i had mild reflux (assymptomatic). I think it is just a precaution to keep the acid down while we are healing. You probably have a little reflux too.

Maybe you should watch Dr. Phil on tv, he has a weight loss group and a couple of the women are dealing with the same issue. You could keep tabs on the ones you are similar to, and take his free advice. It cant hurt.

Your internal swelling is probably all gone now, so you can fit more than before. I have noticed that i can eat more if i wanted to, but i choose to stick with 1/2 cup of food at a time.
