  1. My surgeon says liquids are slider foods. That's why you don't feel full...when u progress to mushies you will feel the sleeve working!
  2. For me, I wanted to get my BMI below 45 so I wouldn't have to do 2 weeks of pre op dieting per my surgeons rules. I am going to go ahead and start the pre op diet 2 days early though. He stressed to me, yesterday, the importance of shrinking my liver and I don't want anything getting in the way of me getting sleeved!!
  3. Yaaaayy for you!!
  4. Congrats on your decision. Keep us updated!!
  5. @Findingmyself, we are a very sarcastic bunch around my household. And I always give rude ppl smart a** answers.

  9. I have lost 10 lbs so far and haven't even started the pre op liquid diet yet!!
  10. My surgeon suggets baby foods for the pureed stage...but I guess I am having issues getting past the look of it when I fed it to my kids...guess I need to get over it and just give it a try!
  11. JaimeC I would like a copy too if that's not too much trouble! Smartredcookie2006@yahoo.com...thanks in advance!!
  12. I have made sure to have a different relationship with my kids than I did with my own parents when I was younger...I understand what ur going thru!
  13. @irish, she sounds exactly like my Dad!!!
  14. I did my Q and A today..its the last step, for me, just prior to starting the pre-op diet...I took a large spinal notebook with about 2 pages of questions. He sat down and said "hit me"...and answered every one...its your health...ask away!
  15. Diver diva good for you!! I have never taken Topamax. But I had a doc a couple years ago that decided I was bipolar and gave me like 5 pills a day to take plus I was on Ambien and Xanax to boot. I was a complete zombie all day and I was acting very strange all the time. After a few mths of that I went to a new doc and got a second opinion. My husband was very scared for me because of how I was acting on all the meds...the new doc weined me off all the meds and instead gave me a light dose antidepressant for anxiety. I was never bipolar. Just depressed due to some life stresses and had lots of anxiety issues. I can recognize a doc that's going to be a pill pusher now from a mile away and I run for the hills!! Only you know what's good for you!!
  16. My surgery is May 15th...I was lucky enough not to have to get the endoscopy. I have had my gall bladder removed though so I kinda have an idea what to expect for surgery. You are right though. The endoscopy is a good practice run!!
  17. Hi LILMs, welcome!! And congrats!

  19. Mine is May 15th...I sure hope the liquid diet is at the very least, something I can handle!!
  20. I went to my last appt with the surgeon today...I have lost enough weight to do the one week of pre op dieting. But I am going to start a couple of days early just to be sure my liver is good. After talking to the surgeon, everything became real...I am getting sooo excited now!!!
