    Ugh, Unjury Tastes Like Butt!

Thanks for the recipes ladies, I will have to try them out. Oh yes, I am used to the Protein smell! I usually mix my drinks in a Blender Bottle and drink it out of there or wait for the foam to go down then pour it into an empty Water bottle to take with me. This was not the usual funky protein smell. It smelled like rancid meat I didn't have an issue with their vanilla but tried the unjury unflavored twice and after getting a few sips down the second time I got really sick to my stomach. I emailed them explaining the odor and taste. They agreed that is abnormal and they think I may have gotten a bad batch. They're giving me a refund and sending me a new container to try for free. They want me to send the original container back so they can test it. I doubt they'll let me know if anything was actually wrong with it but I am kinda hoping there was and that the new one they send me is just fine. I don't want to have to go back to the gritty pieces of GNC protein powder floating in the bottom of my drink!

    Boohoo :-( I'm Back In The 200S

Thanks missmeow I definitley agree! I usually weigh myself in the morning but the dr. appt. was in the afternoon after eating and drinking water all day. And I know I am not getting enough fiber in but it isn't for lack of trying! Some of the fiber supplements are awful!

Can You Drive Home After Endoscopy?

Oh, wow...you'll be awake? They put me to sleep so I def had to have someone drive me home. Although the drug they used on me wore off really quickly. I felt good enough that I could have driven myself home. If they're not putting you under then I'm really not sure. Sorry!

    Boohoo :-( I'm Back In The 200S

Thanks Indymom. I checked my scale when I got home and they are about the same. Oh well! I know almost everyone has a stall at 3 weeks and I'm sure starting back on solid foods my body is still wondering what the heck is going on because I keep changing what I'm eating.

I'm So Fearful Of Surgery / Anasthesia!

Prayer helped me a lot. Talking it out with God really helped ease my fears. I knew deep down that He wasn't going to take me home with all this work He has left for me to do here!

    Tuna On Day 13

I had some tuna toward the end of week 2. It was a little uncomfortable going down but I was fine afterward. Hopefully you chewed it up really well and then chewed it some more! Be careful thou! I cheated and luckily am doing okay but it wasn't wise for me to deviate from the doctor's diet. You can apparently still have leaks several months out. Reading posts from people who have had leaks makes me never, ever want to experience one!

    Wine And Whine Wednesday!

I may come back and whine after my doctor's appointment if I haven't lost any weight but for now I will just whine about missing my scale. I put it away so that I wouldn't be tempted to weigh myself every 5 minutes. I know it may be crazy but I actually miss my scale! Every time I walk into the bathroom and see the empty spot where it used to be I want to weigh myself! UGH! But, I have been good. It is put away and I will not know my weight until the doctor weighs me this afternoon. It will feel better to hear pounds lost in a week or so rather than seeing a pound lost today and gained back tomorrow because I'm weighing myself so darn much.

    Ugh, Unjury Tastes Like Butt!

The GNC brand was good mixed with the flavored drink mixes. I guess I can deal with the gritty stuff at the bottom. It's better than almost throwing up trying to make myself drink the Unjury. Luckily, their website says the have a 100% satisfaction guarantee so I've emailed them and asked for my money back.

    Ugh, Unjury Tastes Like Butt!

Yes, its the unflavored. It tastes terrible!
  16. Well, I'm only a month out but I've never been happier! I've already gone down 1 pant size and I have had a lot more energy. The surgery itself sucked as well as the first week afterward but that discomfort was a small price to pay to feel and look great for many, many years to come. Try not to stress too much, save that energy for after surgery! I hope everything goes well. Good luck!

    I Was Sooo Bad Yesterday!

Thank you LoserMama! I'll def look that book up. Yes, the liquid diet WAS very hard! I have progressed to soft solids so the only thing I ate that I shouldn't have was the french fries because they were fried and the sugary sweets. It doesn't justify it but I wanted to see if I would have a problem with the sugar. I haven't dumped on anything and I know some people do and some people don't. That's what I meant by testing myself to see what I can have. I should have been more clear.
  19. I've been testing my limits to see what I can eat. So far I have had no problems with any food. So what do I do yesterday? I have some Gumbo, deviled eggs, potato salad, a slice of sugar free chocolate pie and a not so sugar free cheesecake brownie bar. This was all one meal! The only reaction I had was what felt like a good buzz after not smoking in a while. I'm assuming that was from the sugar in the brownie bar. Then later in the evening when everyone went out after my daughter's basketball game I ate the meat and cheese off of a Jr sized burger and a handful of fries just because they were in front of me. Finally my stomach started to feel full but not before I busted my calorie allowance for the day! I'm wondering why I can eat everything I can and why I'm not having problems with sugar. Maybe I didn't have as much as I thought or powdered sugar is less potent than cane sugar? Either way, I need to slow down. I don't want to fall back into old habits!

    I Was Sooo Bad Yesterday!

Thanks Sleeved&Hopeful. I know that deprivation feeling was what always ruined every diet I've tried in the past. But this isn't a diet, this is a lifestyle change. I've gotta remember that. The month of liquid diet has been a killer. I guess I've had that deprivation feeling again.

    Any Texas Gastric Sleeve Buddies?

Oh yes, Dr. Kim formualted the protein product he pushes on you so he gets all the profit. He must not be making enough money off of the hundreds of surgeries he does a month. It's all about the money to him. I was at the point of scheduling my surgery when they told me I had to pay a 250 deposit just to 'reserve' my surgery time. You know, to make sure people don't cancel. Who goes through all of the many steps required to have this surgery and then cancels at the last minute?!

    Texan Needing A Vsg Buddy

I was wondering the same thing going into my psych eval. Really, what they're looking for is that you have the mental capacity to understand that you're having surgery and you'll need to make life style changes because of it. They also like to see that you have a good support system of family and friends. Mine was a pretty simple, pleasant conversation. I told her the medical and non medical reasons I was considering surgery and talked a little about my family. I was approved and had my surgery a month ago today! Good luck to you, let me know how it goes

    I Was Sooo Bad Yesterday!

I haven't dared try crackers or anything crunchy like that yet. Well, aside from the fries which were the crinkle kind and were cut thick so they were soft.

Oh no, no rice. I'm not going to attempt rice or bread any time soon. It may be hard to believe but I do have some sense!
