  1. I've been feeling this way too. I'm on the shot so I don't have a period but I do know how it feels! I keep wondering if maybe I've stretched my poor stomach back out because I've been eating so much. Most likely it's the fact that we are making poor choices and eating carbs and sugary stuff that go right through the sleeve without stopping long enough to give that full feeling. I've decided I'm going to force myself back on to straight Protein for a couple of weeks and see how much more full I feel eating just protein.

  2. No, I don't think it's the amount because the discomfort starts with bite #1. I think it has something to do with the texture of the banana and it not wanting to go down. I have a similar issue with strawberries and actually most other fruit that I have tried. I haven't been brave enough to try pineapple yet though. But same with peaches, grapes and really everything but softened strawberries. I have had some discomfort with uncooked veggies also so maybe it is the raw factor that is too much on my sleeve? Bananas are the worst offender though. The first time I tried a banana I thought I was going to either vomit or die if I didn't!

  3. Bananas have been the one and only thing to just really hurt my stomach since my surgery almost 7 months ago. I still can't tolerate them. I have stomach gurgling sounds and stabbing pains when I do try to eat them. My doctor says this is odd because for some of his patients intially after surgery bananas are all they can eat. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had issues with bananas?

  4. This is just an update and praise report because I haven't been on here in a while, I've been busy living it up and loving my new life since surgery! I don't think I have ever been happier. I really have a whole new outlook on life. Activities with the kids are no longer a huge chore. I can ride bikes with my girls, play ball and just chase them around without exhausting myself. My relationship with food, my kids and even myself has totally changed for the better. Also, my divorce was final just before my surgery and I never thought I'd be dating much less falling in love again but I've actually found a really great guy who I know would love me regardless of weight. But ladies, I know you all know what I mean when I say, it feels SO GOOD TO FEEL ATTRACTIVE AGAIN!!!

Thanks for helping me Celebrate my huge VSG success! Oh...I'm down 69 pounds and in a size 12 which is down from size 20 pre-surgery. Woot! Woot! Attached is a recent pic.

  5. My doctor's office told me any form of Tylenol or products with acetominophen are fine. No NSAIDs & no aspirin though! I know the Tylenol brand makes several kinds of cold & flu relief meds and any Walmart or Walgreens should have their knock off versions. Hope you feel better soon!

  6. I've gotten a few compliments about looking great but I've got to say, being noticed more by men everywhere I go is the best thing ever! I got hit on by a couple of guys who looked about college age at the grocery store today! *blush* I've only lost 40 pounds but I think I'm regaining my self confidence. When I felt fat and frumpy I dressed that way and now that I'm feeling thinner I'm taking better care of my appearance. It's definitely paying off :) Thank you sleeve!

  7. Woot woot! Congrats! The best thing you can do now is stock up on Protein Shakes and/or powders and other stuff for the liquid phase of your post op diet. You might not feel like getting out to the store for a few days after surgery. I brought slippers, socks, a change of clothes, books, my laptop, makeup and toiletries to the hospital. All I really used was my toothbrush, deodorant and change of clothes for the trip home. You will probably sleep a lot so don't bring too much stuff that you'll have to worry about trudging all the way back home.

  8. Yay, good for you! It is exciting to be starting a new chapter in life. Although the 6 month diet requirement stinks I feel it gave me a lot of time to prepare. I only wish I had been smart like you and found this website before my surgery! Congrats to you on the beginning of your journey. I look forward to seeing your progress :)
