  1. I was told since I haven't had a fill yet, that I could eat anywhere from 1/4 cup to 1 cup per meal.. I seem to be holding to 1/2cup. I get my 1/4 measure out and put my Protein in dump it in my bowl or plate then my veggie so I have my 1/2. If I have stew or Soup ( mushed still in that stage, then I just message out 1/2cup)... I keep it to items that are easy to message. Like tuna, salmon, chicken ( canned ) stews, Soups, yogurt, etc..

  2. I was on a 14 day liquid diet ( which they provided for me ) prior to sugery and 10 liquid after.. Now I am on the mushy stage.. I've been on that since the 19th of Feb and will see my dietican on the 15th of March and see where I go from there.. They told me I can eat what ever I really wanted on the mushy stage as long as it can be blended, mashed, crushed or chewed into a mushy stage...

  3. I told no one about any part of it, but my hubby... After my surgery and about 2 wks ago I told my mother.. My mother is very opinioniated and I just didn't want to get upset or in a fight with her over it.. I still haven't told my daughter yet.. She is expecting her second baby in Aug and I didn't want to add any stress to her. I don't plan on telling her, I want to surprise her when I go visit when the baby is born.. We skype all the time, so she might say something about my wt on one of skype days, but if not she will find out when I see her then I will tell her everything... I don't plan on telling anyone else...

  4. I was given a list of things I could it on my liquid diet.. They were, sugar free puddings and Jello, cream of wheat ( with added milk or Water just so it pourable ), Protein Shakes, crystal light, Tomato Soup, cream of chicken, or any creamed Soups that has water added just so it's runner then usual. I could not eat mashed potatoes until now, which is I'm on the mushy stage now, but still haven't eaten any. Trying to stay away from high carb foods, so potatoes ( unless they are in a Soup, like veggie beef soup then I will ) are out for me..

  5. Have any of you not had to have a fill???? I had surgery Feb 8th and I've been eating 1/2 cup a food per meal and that seems to be working for me.. I'm not overly hungry, if I do feel a bit hungry I drink and that seems to work for me.. I've lost 23 pounds since surgery date, so I am losing wt just fine.. I was just wondering if some ppl never need to get fills??

  6. I was told to eat cream of wheat, Jello, Protein Shakes, etc for 10 days after surgery, but for mushy stage to eat more normal foods that can be mushed to thick mashed potato stage.. No liquids so if you have Soup, stews, etc drian, but can add a little gravy to meat if need be.. I was not given a calorie count.. I have't had my first fill yet, so dr said to eat between 1/4 cup to 1 cup per meal... I find 1/2 cup seems to work for me right now.. Yes! I do get a little hungry, but I drink and that seems to help with the hungry..

  7. I'm in the mushie stage myself.. I've been buy can stew, I will add veggies to it then mash it up ( Of course drain any excess liquid from it same with soup) I buy Soup with meat and veggies, no rice or Pasta drain and mush.. I 've gotten canned chicken chili.. I also buy roasted chicken from the store and cut up and make sure I chew well to desolve and add mushed veggies.. I eat fish, canned salmon, canned tuna, canned chicken ( not a huge fan of the canned chicken ).. I've been keeping it pretty blend, because thats how I like it, but you sure can add spice.. My nut told me to eat weight control oatmeal, but I find it increases my sugar, so I just scamble 1 egg every morning sometimes adding a veg to it.. hope this helps! good luck and let me know how you are doing, we can do it together...

  8. Monday at 3 am I woke up feeling so nausated, broke out in a sweat I've never sweated like that before I also started dry heving, but nothing came up.. My body felt like a wet noodle and I thought I was going to pass out.. I couldn't stand without feel dizzy and it scared me because I just had surgery on the 8th and I didn't want anything moving or getting sick from being sick.. My husband had been sick with nausea and diaherra since Friday so I knew it had to be a virus.. I had two Protein Shakes and 1 Jello that day. I stayed in bed a slept all day and woke up tuesday feeling better but still slightly nauseated.. I'm still feeling nauseated when I eat and drink, but I make myself eat and drink and the feeling goes away pretty quick.. I was luckly that I still had nausea meds in the house, but I have never had that before.. I would talk to the dr if you feel you did something to your stomach.. My dr told me to always listen to my stomach and if I have any problems or concerns call the office and they would tell me weather I should come in or not. He says he would rather be cautious then have something go wrong... Hope you feel better soon.

  9. Hello Everyone!!

Band going great.. Since the day of my surgery which was16 day's ago, I've lost 18 pounds. Total wt loss so far is 32 pounds. I feel real good.. I still don't have a fill yet, I'm due to have my first one ( if they do it ) on March 28th. I do get hungry at times, but not that often.. When I do get hungry I just drink and that seeems to help.. I'm eating 1/2 cup of food per meal and that seems to work for me right now.. I'm trying to get excercise in, but I have to do a much better job getting into my everyday life...

I have no pain anywhere, if it wasn't for the scars I wouldn't even know I had surgery..

  10. before the surgery I was on Opifast for 14 days.. I had 4 drinks a day, with Optifast Soup for dinner and a Optifast granola bar for my 8pm snack. I also was allowed 3 sugar free jello's per day, but I only had 2 a day.. After surgery, I had bottle Water with crystal light, cream of wheat ( with 8 oz of Water ), I had Tomato Soup, thinned. I had Protein shakes two a day, which I continue to this day.. I buy my shakes from costco, 30 grams of protein.. Def tea, I also allowed my self no more then two sugar free Jello or puddings per day.. I purchased these cream of chicken soup in a packet which was easy to thin out..

Now I drink, def tea, bottle water with crystal light, and my two Protein Shakes a day.. I usually started the day with a cuppa tea, then wait 30 mins and have Breakfast which is usualy around 10 am.. I try and have something every 2 hours. So my schedule is

    10-breakfast,

    12- Protein shake

    2-lunch

    4-protein shake

    6-dinner

all other times I drink, I just make sure I don't drink 30 before a meal and 30 after a meal, unless it's a Protein shake..

Hope this helps and I don't mind you asking at all.

  11. My routine is usually, get up have def tea, wait 30 mins then have 1 egg scrambled or 1/4cup of cottage cheese with 1/4cup of fruit. For lunch I have delmonte stew or some kind of chunky Soups drained that have meat and veggies I add veggies to the stew as well. I usually have the same thing for dinner. I'm still working on the food so I'm still working on that. yesterday I had lentils Soup with some broccoli. All drained, all mushed

  12. Hello Everyone!!

I'm so excited that I found this forum, I can't wait to read all the great stories and ideas that you all have shared..

My story is, I was banded on Feb 8th 2012. The surgery it's self went well, but I did have a problem with anesthesia.. I had some kind of asthma attack so I couldn't breath when I started to wake up.. Dr's. think I might have just gotten to much fluids into my system because now I am fine and show no signs of wheezing or any kind of asthma problems.

I'm not in any pain except for a slight pain every now and then on my right side, mostly when I bend over. I've lost 15 lbs since the day of surgery and 14lbs prior to surgery so a total of 29 lbs.. I'm on the mushy phase of my diet and I'm doing about 1/2 cup of food per meal.. That seems to work for me. At times i do feel hungry but when I do I just start to drink more and that seems to really help.. I think I've got a good system going that works for me so I'm happy abou that..

Now, excercising isn't working like I would like.. In November I broke my foot and my cast just came off on Feb 3rd.. I still don't have bone to bone contact with the area that's broke, but I don't need to ware a cast anymore ( actually I had a cast on for 3 weeks, then I moved to a boot ). My ortho dr. said I can do very light walking but I need to be aware the bone hasn't healed yet and I just need to give it time.. So, I'm not real sure when I will be able to get back into doing some kind of excercise.. I've continue to do light walking and that's it..

I have a mailbu pilates machine that I just got and can't wait to use it, but I'm waiting on lapband dr to clear me for that. I've thought about doing curves or siging up to a gym, but I will wait until I get the ok from dr. first..

I'm looking forward to reading all the post and reading about everyone's journey.
