5 Days Post Op Chest Tightness?? Is This Normal?
judych replied to Treenz's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
perhaps you could have a glucose drink? or a lozenge? it could be a touch of hypo insulinism. -
its pretty concentrated then.

sometimes i prefer it a bit sweeter and when i do, i just add some sweetener to it all. it does make a difference. i only use greek yoghurt with my protein drinks.

Working On Week 4 Post Op... Only Lost 11 Lbs...normal? Also Added Mushies Last Week No Gain Or Loss?
judych replied to 2savemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i agree.. dont react to whats going on... just allow your body to re adjust and the weight loss will come. theres no guarantee that you will lose heaps in a month... but as long as you lose thats the main thing. The best result is a long term one, not short term. -
i saw them advertised and did wonder about them. I dont use that but i do have frozen raspberries of a night with my Protein drink and yoghurt. its a great drink. im not noticing any weight loss through having raspberries but its the only fruit im having at the moment.

My New Secondary Insurance Dose Not Cover The Sleeve, Should I Get Banded?
judych replied to gabriellegordon's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
yes the band is well worth it. i had a good long discussion with my dr about both procedures. He was very up front about it all. The band teaches you good eating habits... and lets face it ... it was bad eating habits that got us in this situation to begin with. Having the sleeve means more risk in surgery, means that one has to take Vitamin supps always.. and also that you CAN stretch the stomach that has been cut in half. Eventually the stomach can be stretched and after that happens there is nothing left to do. Bad eating habits vs good eating habits. Learning how to eat properly is necessary with both surgeries... the difference is that the band pulls us up. the other doesnt and by the time we know something is wrong its too late. -
Is Coffee Going To Ruin My Weight Loss?
judych replied to Jellyfish's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
you've done well to last this long without coffee. ive been having black coffee without sugar all along. lol.. my opinion on the sugar?? its more likely to trigger a hunger for more sweet carbs... apart from that , i dont see any probls. Cant you manage coffee black without sugar?? if you persevere you will get there... i know that i did. -
i have a small amount... no coke though.
-
i vary between a small cup and maybe 1 1/2 cups now. it depends on the day and what im having. im still having a lot of Soups so im having more than one cup. as the weather warms up more i will leave the soups alone and have more salad.

Gall Bladder Issues Post Op
judych replied to texas-bandette's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thats scary stuff. i had xrays done years ago and they found two calcified stones under the gall bladder. we dont know if they were calcified glands or not. i never followed up on that one. i get general pain in both left and right side of my abdo.. .but ive always put it down to some colitis. I have more win in my gut since the band surgery. Has anyone else got more '' wind'' pain since surgery??I cant imagine how much pain you must have been in. How on earth you drove yourself?? At least you are through all that now and im sure that having the gall bladder removed will make all the difference to you. Tell me, has your weight loss been quick?? have you lost a lot of weight ?? -
not good. im sorry youve been through all this. The symptoms do sound a bit like a slip... but im no expert so please dont take my comments to heart. i hope that the unfill fixes everything for you. when were you banded?

My Stomach Literally Broke Open
judych replied to model's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
ohh... how awful for you. I cant imagine how you must feel about it right now. Did the dr say why you got infected underneath? thats not good, especially as you have been banded some time now. I hope that you can get another port in. I dont see why not. ASk him about doing the port on the other side of your stomach?? surely he could do that?? Meantime... take good care of the wound... Good luck with it all and keep us posted. hugs for you judy -

Actually Saw Myself In A Full-Length Mirror Today!!
judych replied to lucky2bLAURA's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
thats wonderful and im so pleased that you got so much encouragement from that. Ive been wearing the same trousers since i was banded nearly four months ago. i was aware that they were getting baggy on me. However i hadnt tried any other trousers (slacks) on as i wanted to wait as long as possible before buying more. Plus the fact i hate window shopping and shopping in general, so i didnt have to talk myself out of it.. lol. Well, the slacks i was wearing are sized 18 aust. Today for the first time i tried on sized 14, they belonged to someone else... and they fitted me really comfy!!(actually i tried on two different pairs and they were different makes) i couldnt believe my eyes !! lol. So , i was thrilled as well today.....its great to have these special moments come on us, isnt it?? it makes things well worth while.
