I'm sorry to hear about your appendix but aren't you glad it happened BEFORE your Lap Band? Better to happen now and heal, than have complications later, right? Wishing you a speedy recovery Eliz! Now I don't remember anyone setting defined rules for being a "Springer." I think it's more a state of mind for me and everyone else in here. OF COURSE, you will remain here. If you mean coming back into the States from Mexico. YES! The driver for Dr. Ortiz has a system in place to get you across as quickly as possible. Took us less than an hour to get across. I go to Mexico quit a bit and have to say it was a breeze. I've spent hours sitting in line before and wasn't looking forward to it but they had us across quickly. It was awesome. I had a 6 hr drive home to Phx and that wasn't too bad either. Just rested. Getting better each day. thank you

Thank you all. Yes my tummy sounds like it's grown a very loud baby. Growling all the time. I've never heard such a ruckus coming from my own tummy. Today I'm hungry. Not sure why other than I just have the desire to taste food. However, following Dr's orders. My biggest fear right now is blowing the band and causing it to slip before it heals into place. I've never be able to do a fast in my entire life so going 4 days without anything but clear liquids is quite an accomplishment for me. Still a little sore, but each day gets better. As of this morning I was up 2 lbs since my surgery but I'm sure that's water weight and will drop quickly when I get rid of all the excess gas and water. I do find I'm having a hard time staying focused on things. Like simple chores, doing paper work, answering emails and so on. Maybe lack of food? Glad I took off a few days. I will get on MFP and will let everyone know my user name soon. Thank you again for all the support I get from our group. Ya'll are awesome! j~

I used Dr. Ortiz and honestly can't say one bad thing about my entire experience in Mexico. Everyone from the driver to the nurses were top notch! Thanks for the info on the belly fat & bloating. I'm not going out anywhere for a few days so I'm not real worried about looking like a blob.

I was banded Monday and doing great. I posted more details in the springers group but wanted to share I'm on my way to a speedy recovery!

I start my TOM today!! dang it! I always gain when I start. guess it's better than next Tuesday. oh and BTW........ I think I'm way too old for this crap anymore

Rant away! That's what we're here for. Sounds like your making the best move even if you do have to push the date back a bit. May is going to be an exciting month.

I don't think TMI is an issue in this group. I've been doing pretty good. Again, not doing the scale every day. I'm sure my weight has gone up because of TOM but I just keep moving forward. It's coming up fast for many of us. The next few weeks are going to be very interesting and exciting.

Our group is growing and sharing everything about their lap-band experience which is awesome but there is so much more about us. Right now I'm super obsessed with my lap-band surgery and my weight but that's only a small part of who I am. So I thought it would be fun to share our interests, hobbies, passions and just life stuff in general! I love to paint, take photographs, complain about my 3 dogs, and work on my garden. Right now it's seems all i do is work. I also spend way too much time on Facebook if anyone wants to connect there, l let me know. I love spending time with my adult children. I'm pretty proud of the fact that are so much fun to be around! I opened a tiny little salon 3 yrs ago and have been very focused on building my business. My life is pretty full! So there's a start! Now it's your turn!

I have 2 boys (27 & 22) and a mini me ( 20 yrs), 3 dogs, a black lab, old english bulldog and a weiner. My life is always interesting. I have to laugh or I'd go insane. I lived in Denison Texas for about 6 months years ago. NOT everything is big in Texas but the mosquitos can carry you away. I'll be whining about the heat soon enough. Maybe it won't bother me as much cuz I'll be SKINNY!!! hehe 5 days and counting j~

Ok.. .I have to brag. It's 9:00 am here and it's 72 degrees here in Phoenix. I've been sleeping with the windows wide open. The orange blossoms are in full bloom and this IS my favorite time of year! Next week, I'm going to plant a veggie garden while I'm recovering. So how is it in your world?

I've had 3 babies. I don't care who sees my "business" as long as it doesn't involve me taking home anymore bundles of joy.
