  1. Good job! I hope these three weeks fly by for you.
  2. Those thoughts happen to most of us. I had a complete breakdown the day before my surgery. Almost called it off. I've only lost 5 lbs since surgery two weeks ago, but I'm hopeful the scale will start to drop soon. Either way, even if my band doesn't work well for me, at least I tried and gave it my all. If I stck to the plan I don't see how I can't lose weight. Just have to get the scale moving again. You can do this, cold feet are normal. I don't like operating from a place of fear, so make a decision that's best for you, but not because you are afraid.
  3. She wants me between 900-1000. She's dreaming.
  4. I just had my post op appointment and got "talked" to for my calories being so low. Grr. I did ask about the pool and she said two more weeks. So that would be 4 weeks total. Every doc is different. I'm going in as soon as my incision is fully closed.
  5. It took me at least 30 per meal. Lunch took almost an hour. If I ate everything I think it would take an hour to eat, but I'm still getting full off of about 1/2 a cup. Which is good, except my scale is boycotting weight loss this past week. Grr. How many calories a day are you eating? I wanted to get to 800 today but only managed 630. I just wasn't hungry or got full. I wonder if I could possibly still be swollen. It's hard to think so little food fills me up.
  6. I haven't said anything to him yet, but I will. Today was my first day of regular food, We will see how it goes. When my husband got up from the table he started cleaning up and asking me to put papers away... Acting like everyone should be done since he is. I just said " I'll be happy to take care of papers AFTER I'm done eating. I should be allowed this time to eat undisturbed by chores" he looked at me funny and then said "ok". I'm glad I stuck up for myself though. My son isn't allowed to leave the table until he's excused. It's always been that way. My husband wasn't raised with any sort of table manners, so I cut him some slack and teach him slowly. He is SO much better than when I met him. That sounded really snobby. It wasn't meant that way.
  7. How are you doing so far?
  8. It really annoys me when my husband and son scarf down their food, and then my husband gets up and leaves. Hello! Want to spend time together as a family? How about you feed the baby so I can eat? My son just sits there because I won't excuse him from the table until we have had a conversation. At least that's something. I wonder if my husband even tastes his food.....
  9. Sorry. Hate it. It's a texture thing. I like watermelon flavored things but the real thing won't go down.
  10. Love this group too
  11. What a great NSV! Happy for you.
  12. Smoking can significantly increase your risk of blood clots after surgery, which CAN KILL YOU. Other than the anesthesia risks there is no long term consequences. Could you give it up for two months knowing it's temporary? One month before, one after.
  13. I was on my period too. They gave me a huge pad and their mesh maternity panties. Yuck.
  14. Sounds like you're doing great! Hope it continues for you.
  15. I use my immersion blender and I make sure I don't incorporate any air.
  16. I used the liquid Vicodine they prescribed for me. I took a half dose religiously the first day. The next day I took a half dose three times. Once the day after that. A couple of days later I took one full dose because I way over-did it. None since
  17. I was banded on 4/5 and I can't feel my band or port at all. We will see if that changes when I drop these ugly pounds!
  18. Take a Xanax and go to bed . It will be ok.
  19. I have questioned this decision. Lots. Complications. What if it just doesn't work? I'm mourning my old BFF food. Which is weird because I'm still not really hungry. Then I press on. I'm determined. If it doesn't work, I gave it everything I have. I keep on repeating " It has to work. If I follow the rules, it WILL work for me".
  20. Don't let what the scale says dictate your daily mood. Make sure you have variety in your protein shakes.
  21. Thanks everyone. I probably shouldn't weigh myself everyday, but NOT weighing myself is part of what got me into this mess. I don't expect a loss everyday, but I didn't expect a gain. You ladies are right though, with my limited calorie intake it can't be a pound of fat gain. Probably just water. I did really up my intake. Can't wait to see it go down again!
  22. Thanks ladies. I guess I had myself a little freak out this morning.
  23. Don't let the 7 year old win! I know he's only 7 but explain to him what family means. Then explain again, and again. That you help each other out, pick up the slack when needed. Regardless of your surgery, he should be picking up his own toys anyway. I would of made him. Also, is it possible that he picked up that attitude from something grandma said? Sorry you're having such a bad time.
