My Fitness Pal (Mfp)
So far the calories have been very accurate for what I've been doing. If there is a choice between the same item, I always go with the higher calories. Also, there is a way for someone to input their own item with calories, but you can tell because it will say unverified in the nutrition section of that item. So, I never choose those, unless I create my own.

My Fitness Pal (Mfp)
Brokenwings- you can start by doing it online, once you get the smart phone app, it will sync no matter where you do it. You don't have to add friends until after vacation

My Fitness Pal (Mfp)
MFP is My Fitness Pal. It's available via both smartphone and Internet. It logs all of your calories, exercises, goals, and you can even scan barcodes with your phone. It also has a handy tool that breaks down what you are eating in pie chart form (I.e. Carbs, protein, fats, veggies, etc). If you have friends you can see each others meals and calories and encourage each other. I love it.

BTW- I hate autocorrect and the spelling/grammar errors it creates from my phone. I apologize.

My Fitness Pal (Mfp)
I know many of us use MFP. If you would like to add me my name is the same as here, smmrsue. Just be kind... I am honest, if I faulted and have McDonalds it gets logged. It has helped me to pass by drive-thrus and many an occasion. I hope we can get a Springers MFP group going! Plus, I love seeing what everyone is eating

Here We Go..help??
I agree with the above posts. Try and get in to a center of excellence, some insurance companies require it, but go where you are comfortable. If you don't like the surgeon or his staff find someone else since this is a life long commitment. You can do this! Remember, the band will help you not eat as much, but can't tell you what not to put in your mouth.

Introductions? Yes Please
Sorry I have been remise in welcoming everyone... So WELCOME! I am glad so many of us are RN's. We will be able to share tips and stories about life with the band and a crazy work schedule. I know I am worried about when I work 3 in a row.. I am usually not the best at eating and when I do it is poor food choices and shoving it down so I can get back on the floor. Oh how things are going to have to change. I'm glad to see our group growing!

Thanks GLove. Quite helpful.

A Little Disappointed
I agree with Scorpio. One week shouldn't make that much of a difference, but if it does... Whine, cry, talk to managers, complain. Write letters to the company managers. It works.... Not that I have done that.

My Journey 4/17/2009

Restriction 2 Weeks After Fil. Is That Normal
6 was referring to 6 ml's. Cc and ml are completely interchangeable. Mm= milimeter, which is a measurement of length... So I think she just meant ml. Ml= milliliter. Cc= cubic centimeter.

Starting Pre Op Soon.shakes?
The Vitamin Shoppe. Although I think you can get them other places. I like the Vitamin Shoppe because they have a 30 day return policy. If you try something and don't like it they let you bring it back for store credit. The selection was good, and I figured that even if I tried every brand they had and hated them I could use the store credit on vitamins. I'm sure other places have that policy too, but VS is right by my house.
