  1. I've had severe problems with constipation for years. My bariatric surgeon recommended FiberSure.. It works!! I mix it in with my yogurt twice a day and don't have any constipation problems. It was another perk from the surgery!!
  2. Welcome!! You've come to the right place for support and advice. We all love to share our stories!!:biggrin1:
  3. Doc told me to lose a few pounds before surgery to shrink the liver, but said he didn't care how I did it as long as it was done. I opted for low carb/high protein.
  4. AWESOME!!! Congrats to you!!! Keep up the great work!:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:
  5. Welcome Shawnna!!! You've come to a good place here with lots and lots of information. Just remember that each of us is unique and the only constant in all of this is that we have all taken that step we feel will be the tool that helps us lose the weight forever. We need to be faithful to that tool and do our best in the days and years ahead. There.. end of sermon!!
  6. Reading through these posts just confirms the uniqueness of each individual. I was banded 4/10. I told my doctor about my problems with nausea after surgery and he put extra stuff in the IV plus I wore a patch and I had no nausea at all. I was just very, very tired. I had no problems with pain and no problems with gas. I had a hiatal hernia repaired as well and felt no pain from that. I kept expecting the gas pains to hit and they never did. I bought the gas X and never opened the box. I walked and walked and walked while in the hospital and felt good doing it. Today 3 days post surgery I am satisfied with my liquid diet and the only thing I feel is a catch once in a while on my port incision. There was nothing that I had not anticipated because of all the wonderful information on this site and all the reading materials the doctor gave me and that I bought. I started this process in January and here I am banded already. Everything fell into place and I know it was meant to be. When I woke up this morning there was a great feeling of joy knowing that I am on a downward path with my weight. Now I can't weight (pun.. hehehe) to get on the scales each morning.
  7. Prayers and good thoughts to all those being banded tomorrow!!! Your new life will soon begin!! Tater Bug - 04/13 MS_Jen - 04/13 ChicaChula - 04/13 Collector - 04/13
  8. More prayers sent your way, Misty! I can't believe how easy it was. Had I known, I would have had it done years ago!! You'll do great. Post here when you can. We love hearing success stories!! Judy
  9. Welcome!!! And congrats on the weight loss. :clap2: You'll find a great bunch of people here who are very willing to offer support and answer questions.
  10. Best thing you can do is attend a seminar. Check online for a lap band surgeon near you and sign up for a seminar. You and your fiancee go together and make sure to write down all your questions beforehand. After attending the seminar, I knew this was the route for me.
  11. I couldn't agree more with what everyone says about Port Huron. It is a wonderful facility with terrific staff. I was very, VERY well taken care of. When you have a problem, you can call and they get back to you asap. They'll answer all your questions and are there for you all through the process. I HIGHLY recommend Port Huron Lap Band Center of Excellence!!!:amen:
  12. 19# gone already! WOW!! Keep up the great work. You gotta be one proud lady!!

  18. Only name I knew was demmemoon...and of course that didn't ring a bell with anyone.. I told Sandi, the nurse who prepped me, that you had recently started work there and that you had had the lap band the end of March. She didn't have a clue. Oh well, at least I got in and out of there and back to my room before Iknew what hit me!!
  19. They were really nice and gave DH a voucher for $10 for lunch because he had to wait so long. Course they didn't do that for me!! lol Pam was in the OR with me and two other ladies, but I don't remember their names. I don't remember anything after he put the mask on my face.. out like a light!!
  20. Nope...initials would have been JC. They were running late yesterday and I waited from 8:30 -10:45.. I was done and in recovery by noon.
  21. I looked for you yesterday when I had my surgery and even asked if anyone knew you, but no luck. But the experience with Dr. Bhesania was fantastic and the staff there is just wonderful. I couldn't have gone to a better place,in my estimation. Judy
  22. Hey Bandsters!!! I'm HOME. Surgery went extremely good. No pain.. just some pressure like I got punched in the stomach. But no problems with nausea and I was up and walking LOTS!! Got released this morning and after a 4 hour drive (with DH of course) I'm home and goingto go put my jammies on and veg out for the rest of the day. I'm not hungry at all. I've had some Crystal light today and that's it. I'll have some broth for supper and a sugar free popsicle for a treat. Thanks for all your prayers yesterday. I even got a phone call at the hospital from one of the people on here!! Will write more later when I'm rested. Judy
  23. I went to the seminar on Jan. 27 and will be banded tomorrow morning. My insurance covers the procedure. I could have had it done earlier, but I direct a church choir and I wanted to get through Easter first. I had one psych eval and had all the other things...ekg., blood work done two weeks ago..
  24. Demmemoon.....Hope we get to meet tomorrow! I'll be the one telling Dr. Bhesania to "get er done!":biggrin1:
  25. Here ya go.. I think!!
