It took awhile' date=' but I have finally determined there is a connection when I have increased carbs related to sugar and getting the "munchies", especially late at night.Over the Easter holiday, we had our traditional dinner, which included honey baked ham. I had about 2 oz, and the rest of my Protein from regular smoked turkey. Later that evening I was craving a piece of the chocolate fudge cake left overs. I opted for a half teaspoon of Peanut Butter instead.
Last evening we went out to TGIFriday's. I ordered their Jack Daniel's chicken, which did come with the delicious JD sauce, which I believe has honey in it also. Just like clockwork, the munchies hit again by 11pm.
I hate when that happens...when you want to eat everything that is not nailed down. I have learned my lesson...I will have to avoid those kind of carbs; they place me on the "slippery slope" of non-compliance with my diet.
Has anyone else had this happen??[/quote']
I know the complete same feeling!! I am convinced carbs are the enemy! I feel off the no carb bandwagon during Easter too and since then I have been having some carbs it's like my body is craving them. I have to detox off again apart

Hi everyone love to hear all us February bandsters doing great!!! I just went in to see my dr. For my second two week check up cant believe it's been a month since my surgery!!! Well I am down 26 lbs and in an 18 loosely I put on my 16 but they are a little snug. Hope to be able to shop in the women section and plus size by the summer. I was feeling hungry a while ago but I listen to sojourner and bumped it up in the Protein area and it worked!!! I walk 30 min a day 5 times a week but it's all uphill walking. Thanks to this site for support Might not post often but I read all the threads. Keep up all the hard work everyone we can do it . Oh by the way no fills yet my next app is next month then they will see if I need one

I love this! My 14yr old daughter asked if she can have a smoothie for breakfast before school now instead of toaster waffles! She says "I't so much better for me!"
Those tiny moments that make us proud! lol
My 4 yr old said to me while shopping mommy we don't need to get Oreo Cookies I know it hard for you to have bad stuff in our house. My heart melted. These kids absorb all that's going on around them. Yes we all did the right decision cause we did it for our children. For us to be here for them and in the mean time our household is getting a healthy turn around too!!!

So nice to read a post from you...it's been awhile! You did not mention any recent appointments with your surgeon. From what I have read' date=' hunger between meals means that the band is in need of adjustment.
I am just starting to get hungry, and that's the time I get a glass of the milk or cup of yogurt I am supposed to have 2 times a day. I don't see my surgeon until 3/29, and he has already told me that he will not be adjusting my band at that appointment. My band is still empty.
Great work so far...happy for both of us![/quote']
Sorry I haven't posted in a while just so busy lately it was like a mini vacay my surgery lol! So happy your doing good too!!!
I had my post-op on 3/8 when they informed me that I might never need a fill, which made me feel like then why did I go through with this?? Any how she claims some people have enough restriction with just the band in place. I go back to the dr on 3/23 hopefully I can get some answers on getting a fill. All day I am fine with my mini meals cause I am still on mushies. But in the afternoon I get so hungry. I need to keep the momentum going!! LET'S keep up this good work we are all doing, cheers to us all!!!

I do fine all day but seem to be snacking prior to dinner since I don't eat dinner till my hubby gets home @ 7pm. But I am home by 4 and eat lunch at 11:45. I am so scared To gain Any weight back. I thought the plication would keep my full and not allow me to be hungry. I am worried why I am hungry?? Maybe it's head hunger. I hope :/ Amy advice is appreciated. God luck to everyone keep up the hard work!!

So today I am 5 days post op and last night I finally slept in my bed rather than the couch in a sitting up position. I felt great this morning but now the gas pains have starting once again. It is a great feeling to be banded and that part over I am down 17 lbs since my pre op visit. Just wanted to wish the rest of the February bandsters good luck!!!

Thank God I found this forum I had the only crying fit last night and this morning. I feel as if i made a selfish decision cause now I can't hold my lil one for two weeks. Can't cuddle my big guy cause I am scared he could kick my incisions ( after all he is only 3 yrs old). My hubby thinks I am nuts cause I've cried everyday since having my surgery on the 23. I just wanted to do this to be healthy for my boys. Please let the next two weeks fly. I am sending good thoughts to all of u.

I had my surgery on 2/23 and I saw bruising right away. But I bruise easily any how. I asked my surgeon if it was normal and he said its because they need to cut through fat& muscle to place the band and that bruising means you're healing. Good luck and a speedy recovery to u

Good luck Sophia all will be fine. The plication is when they fold in the stomache and stitch it. Look forward to seeing u on the banded side

I am officially on the other side lol the banded side the operation went great and my lapband is in place and functioning. My dr also did a stomache plication they have found it to work in aiding the band. Best of luck to all those banded and still awaiting banding. If anyone has any questions I would love to help the best I can. Mi hope we all have an amazing journey into skinnyville lol

My nerves are getting to me as I approach the one week mark. I am excited yet fearful of 2/23. You would think that someone whose been over weight since 10 would be less nervous. I hope I can stick to my liquid diet, that scares me since I am the chef in the house. I could really use some encourging words. I've been praying for all us February bandsters and keep checking in on the post op peeps to. God grant us all the serenity to move ahead and do what we need to do to get through this part of the game

Ok my fellow february bandsters... I started my preop diet and am doing ok so far thought I would be starving. I think my nerves are a little jumpy due to excitement about my upcoming surgery. The only think I had a question about was is anyone drinking the special k Protein Drinks for Meal Replacement? ? And if so do you have two a day and one light meal or one a deal and two light meals?? Help please
