Good luck. You keep fighting! You will get approved!

Will your dr do a peer to peer? My dr told me if I get denied not to worry he will do a peer to peer and that usually works. Your ins has to tell you why you were denied all of a sudden??

Paperwork submitted on Wednesday and I called ins this morning and it was pending! Something told me to call again after work at 4:45... They tell me it's APPROVED! I still don't believe it I'm going to call again on Monday !!! lol. They did give me an auth # so I guess it's legit! I tried calling the drs number but they were gone for the weekend!! Surgery is scheduled for March 3rd. I had that date since my first appt Dec 1st!
I think I can be excited but I am still in shock!

Hi! I have omnia and wondering how the approval process was?? My drs office told me that they are easy and not to worry but of course, I do. They said omnia just wants to see nut and physic and they will write the letters showing that I did WW, gym , Atkins..... I still feel like I should provide that but they said they just need to write it on the paperwork I don't need to get the actually paperwork. They also said I don't need a letter of recommendation.
I have a surgery date of March 3rd and they don't submit until two /three weeks before ( I hate that).
Can you tell me if they required a lot of extra stuff, how long it took for approval etc??!!
Thanks for your help! How are you doing??? When did you get sleeved??
Thanks for helping me. I'm in ocean county Nj

Hi, Im' in the same boat as you now. I had emergency surgery to have my band removed in Nov due to slippage and now I want the sleeve but my BMI is 32.. My dr said he will still try to submit to ins but he told me not to get my hopes hope. I know this is 2 years old but how did you make out??
-
But I'm new here so PLEASE bare with me.. I got my band three years ago.. Starting weight 230 lowest was 155.. I had to have emergency surgery the first week in Nov to have my band removed due to slipage ( very bad pains, refulx, etc) ... I told my surgeon I would like to try to lose on my own now.... WHAT JOKE!! I want back to him asking him about the sleeve and he agreed it would be a good idea.
OK, my BMI is 32 not sure INS will pay for revision but hoping due to faulty band it will? Ins paid for my band surgery too. My dr is going to call and submit and talk to ins this week.. Explain how I had to get my band out due to complications, how I'm gaining already, why wait until its all gained back and how its safer to do surgery now at this weight then when I'm heavier....
Question, has anyone had there Sleeve down with a low BMI due to band complications. If it helps I have Empire BCBS of NY which I think has been pretty good.
Thanks everyone. . Any feed back would be so helpful!

I'm 11 weeks post op.. I'm glad I'm not too tight I'm happy with my 8.5 cc's right now..
thanks!!!
-
does mean I'm too tight at restriction or just need to chew better?? Sometimes when I'm eating a small piece of chicken it will hurt going down or a cracker?? AM I too tight at restriction or just need to chew better??
I'm at 8.5 cc's in my Realize band. I had my last fill last week!
THANKS!!!
-
and are you at your sweet spot??
I have noticed that the Realize band may take more of a fill then the Allergen band. I'm a bit worried since I have 6.5 cc's in my realize band and I know I could still use a bit more. Not sure if its 1cc or .5 etc but I know I could use something where I have seen people with other bands hitting goad with 3 or 5 cc's in there band...
Just wondering..... I know we are all different, etc... I go for another fill on Monday. I'm only 9 weeks out and doing great but just wondering....

Thanks, I go in for my 1st fill April 9th. Like you I would have just assumed the tighter the better! Thanks for the info!

I have empire bcbs of NY and was approved over the phone! My surgeons office called them to let them know she was sending over the paperwork and they asked her a few questions and approved me! I had surgery on March 6th. Down 25lbs and so happy!
Good luck! It will be here before you know it!

I had a cracker before I needed something to chew , I thought I chewed it up great but now I feel like I have sharp little cracker edges in my throat. Very weird I'm feeling this with no fill.. Not sure if I'm happy or sad about it!
