did you feel like everything was stuck between your chest?? I just made myself have a protein drink and I feel tight almost like its all lumped between my chest?? When did you start feeling better?? I'm feel good just sore.

I had to do the optifast for pre-op and a week after for post-op. Once there gone I"m going to move over the Whey Protein.

You did't fail the band your dr. did. Glad you found out and he is getting in trouble!!

I just got banded tuesday and had to look I could not get over how small. I keep wondering how they got the band in there????? lol Maybe I don't want to know! ! lol When did you start to put stuff on your scares? I think I should keep my covered up still?

How is it going?? I'm getting banded on the 6th I work in the hospital that I'm getting banded in so I picked up my shakes ( optifast) last night. 3 cases and some bars ( I'm allowed to have some bars before surgery) I will be starting my shakes on Wednesday. I pray I don't faint!!

Can you tell me everything your doing/eating/working out, etc... I'm getting banded March 6th and I feel clueless as to what to do after , what to eat, etc. Seems like whatever your doing is working!! Congrats to you and everyone else!!

Yikes, I mean pre-op!! lol How can I do 11 more days of this and is this ok for my body?? lol... I can have five opitfast shakes a day and some of there bars. I think two bars a day. Today I felt ok until now. I had 3 shakes and two bars and I feel so weak and I have a headache. I see someone people can have Jello or broth do you think its ok if I add this even if my dr told me shakes and bars only? I really don't know how I will survive work or the week like this. If anyone has done just the shakes and bar and nothing else then I know it can be done but I"m not sure its healthy?? I know its fine or my Dr. would not tell me to do it I just hope it gets easier on the days ahead! getting banded 3/6

Thanks I just wanted to whine. I actually had some water and crystal light and feel much better. I really thought I was going to faint and not sure how I was going to do 12 hours of the night shift. I guess each day will get better. Thanks everyone for letting me vent!

I started today also and I'm starving now! This is the time I usually look for a snack.. I guess it will break many habits I have I can have 5 Optifast shakes a day and optifast bars. I will have 1/2 bar at lunch and another at dinner with a shake. I noticed if I put the shake in the blender with ice it helps the taste and thickness. Are you guys allowed to eat on this diet?? I was told just the optifast but I'm not sure how I'm going to be. I mean can one do this ?? lol

Started Optifast today.. I'm not sure how I will make it for the next 12 days then again post op. I found putting it in the blender with ice helped a lot but if this is all I can have for the next 12 days I better lose a lot! Good luck everyone!!

My dr told me to go on optifast and I had to buy it from him!

Springday, I have Empire BCBS and It could not have been any easier. My surgeons office said they called BCBS to tell them she was faxing over my paperwork, they asked her a few questions and gave an approval over the phone. She never even had to send over my paperwork that I spent months doing but the surgeons office required it all anyway. Good luck. Im' getting banded on the 6th!! Counting the days!!!

I did the same thing. I picked up all my letters so I could also have a copy in-case for any reason I would need them during this process. Good luck!

I'm the kind of person if someone tells me Oh, you look like you lost weight, I will say Oh, it must be my outfit or if they say your hair looks great, I will say Oh, I need it cut. I like your outfit then I'd say This old thing... I can see each time someone tells me how you look good, I'm going to say I got lapband.. I don't know if I should just lie and say thanks or if they ask how did I lose it etc.. FTR, I won't be banded until March 8th but I think about everything.. Hence all my post lately!

I'm having lapband surgery on March 6th I want to go food shipping before hand but have no idea what I need. Can you please tell me some of your healthy meals that you enjoy. I'm sure this has been done before but for the newbies it would be much appreciated. Please post some of your favorite meals..

I have Empire BCBS and got approved for surgery but not sure about fills? What the normal policy on this if you insurance does cover the surgery??

I'm more stressing about my neighbors. There are a handful of them I'm pretty close with. We go away as couples, watch each others kids , parties , etc.. I just would feel horrible if I never told them and they found out later on BUT the thing with a development you tell one neighbor they all now! So i'm going to wait until I see the three I'm closest with and tell them together otherwise there will be texts going all over about it I'm sure. Most of them had there breasts done to make them look and feel better and I'm just doing the same but with my body and more work! I know they won't judge me and be very supportive but I know when one knows they all will know.. I can just hear the talks now at the bus stop! lol Whatever!! lol I think once I lose some I will feel better about it all!

I have no issue letting the world know if it works for me that's all I care about i just did't know if its something you mention to everyone who asked how are you doing it, or do you just let it fly.. I guess like you it would depend on mood. If I feel like talking I will meniton it if not just smile and try to say thanks and walk away!

So last night I was in bed thinking for the 1st time in a long time this will be a great summer for me ( I'm getting banded on March 6th) I was thinking about summer nights eating oysters and clams then it dawned on me......... I can't eat ( swallow) oysters or calms right?? WOW, I did't think I would miss much but I do love my raw seafood . I know its a small price to pay but when I think summer I think corona's and oysters! :0
