Wish me luck....I got a .2 fill yesterday. Just a tweak. I'm still afraid of getting too tight. I could eat bread, sandwiches, pizza, eggs, rice...basically there was nothing I couldn't eat. I have gained back almost 15 pounds. Tight in the morning, loosey-goosey the rest of the day, frustrating enough to make me eat out of control, so I really needed a fill. My grandfather passed away on Friday. He was doing fine on Wednesday and I took him to the doctor to fill out some papers (health care directives) and he talked about hanging on until he had his will done, and we patted him and told him he wasn't going anywhere, and the doctor said the same thing. Well, he knew something that none of us did...a premonition I suppose. I will miss him desperately. When I got my fill yesterday, I looked EVERYWHERE for the Supreme bars. We surely don't have them in the area I live in...it's too remote. The only place that had them in the city (7-11 did not) was a sports place, and they only had TWO!!!!!!!!! I will definitely order them on the web. Thanks Stef. Gosh Stef, you better be more careful. Do you own a gun? Take care everyone!

Suzz, I'd recommend you take stuff that you can munch on that's not going to make a huge difference in your daily intake. Nuts, apple slices, a nice large spinach salad, etc. Also, sip some crystal lite throughout the night, and AVOID the lounge!!! You can do it! You're worth it!
  3. Hey Beckie...nice to put a face with the name! You look adorable....cute kids too!

What the heck Stef, don't you KNOW by now you're not supposed to adjust your ticker for gains!!

Hi Joyce, I've been adjusted several times, including two unfills due to being closed off, and don't quite have my sweet spot (perfect fill) but I'm okay with that. I think it just depends on you. Some people never get adjusted at all, and they are losing. Thirty pounds is good though!!

Throw the bad foods out!! Hmmm! I think I have a talent for making any food into a bad food. Take Pop Secret 100 calorie bags for example. I add butter and parmesan to that! Sugar free jello is MUCH better with whipping cream on it! Seriously, have any of you faced the challenge of purging your pantry with kids in the house? I would throw out all rice, sugar, pancake mix, syrup, jams, white flour, cocoa, etc. if I could get away with it.

Java, the wonton bowls are in the frozen section. Mine aren't by the oriental foods, they are closer to the shrimp and chicken, etc. I haven't tried the seasoned chicken. I just buy the chicken tenders in the big frozen bags and use them for almost everything, and we buy the roasters too. Beckie, what is Zumba??? So far so good on my new diet of solids. I have been getting restriction on almost everything I eat. Since I don't want to do a protein shake, I'm usually not having much more than coffee in the mornings and my vitamins, etc. Around lunch, I have something like leftover meat and a salad. It's hard to get down without a lot of burping, but no pb so far. I'm amazed because I thought I didn't have enough of a fill. Night is the worst though, because it's typically harder to eat solids at first, then I get the munchies and do myself in with chips and cheese. I wish there was some sort of closing mechanism for my mouth after 7:00 p.m. I need to stop watching Gordon Ramsey on my DVR and watch Biggest Losers instead! LOL I haven't lost anything yet, but I'm going to stick with it.

I will definitely look for those. I wish they'd get the mahi mahi back in! Have you tried the little shrimp wonton bowls? They are to-die-for and just the right size.

No on the protein shakes for me. I'm going back to the bandster rules I was given when I had surgery. Three solid meals, no snacking, lots of water. I'm going to try and make my band work for me. I have a good list of protein foods, and I think I have the right amount of restriction to let me eat enough of it to get good nutrition. Who knows, I may not need to tweak my fill. Hey, whatever works for you, keep doing it!!
  16. Yep, you're too tight. You could risk a slippage. It's not worth the benefits of losing the weight more quickly, imo.

That's awesome Mystic! I think I'm finally figuring out a few things about the band too. It only took me almost seven months! It's good to get support and connect with other bandsters and keep up the motivation. If something gets stuck, maybe try to chew it more or eat it slower. If that happens to me, it doesn't always mean I can't eat it again. Keep going!! Suzz, all I have to say is WHOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Welcome to Twoterville!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Last night I went to a dinner that my fill center (Northwest Fill Management in Arlington, WA) was hosting. I LOVE them.....they are so awesome! We had a naturopathic doctor speaking, and I learned a lot. I wish I had met someone living remotely close to me. I may have to start letting people know I am banded in hopes of not feeling like an island. lol I also have been re-reading my bandster rules. No more liquid calories for me...and the includes protein shakes. Done...finito! Three solid meals, my supplements and water! I hope that will get the scale moving.

MKU, that's a significant amount of weight! Wow, it really shows in the pics. You must feel like you're floating! Congrats. When did you get your surgery? What do you eat normally? HR, congrats on Onederland, you're inspiring! I know what you mean about a fickle band. Isn't it frustrating? Some days I can eat anything, some days I have pain from cereal or cottage cheese and pb it. If I *dare to get a fill, I will surely close off and have to get a complete unfill that will set me back 4 months. I'm so frustrated at times, I feel like the band isn't working for me. I don't have much willpower, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the band to help me in the first place. Why don't people understand that? The whole idea of the band is you're supposed to eat less....be satisfied, go for hours without being hungry. I'm starving ALL the time. Even if my band is tight and I manage to eat, I'm hungry a 1/2 hour later. Anyway, I'm venting now. I really do wish to say congrats and keep up the good work!!

Wombat I do it by machine, with my longarm, and charge by the square inch. I have handquilted my own stuff, but if I did it for other people, I'd charge by the hour and nobody in their right mind would pay me what I'd charge. My own passion is applique though.
