Everyone goes bat crazy here when they are hungry but I love feeling hungry. Yes you may think I am crazy but this is why I love feeling hungry.

All of my life I was obese and I consumed probably about 4 to 5 thousand calories a day and never gave my stomach a chance to ever be empty. I would even get up in the middle of the night and eat cookies, cereal, peanut butter and jelly or what ever darn thing I could find to stuff in my face.

The very first time I felt hungry after lap band surgery I was pissed off but then I thought "I have never felt hungry before in my life". When I am hungry it means it really is time to nourish my body. The days following the post op diet of liquids only were not pleasant but from that time I welcomed hunger. I realized I was not going to die due to no food for a few weeks because I could drink as much as I wanted. I was not starved to death because that only happens when people can not afford to purchase food or live in a country that has no food or if someone is anorexic and refuses to eat. I was not in any way going to starve to death.

I love feeling hungry, hearing my stomach actually growl once in a while. I know I won't die because of it. So when you are feeling hungry if it is true stomach growling hunger enjoy it because I guarentee you have never really felt hungry while you were obese. You are not going to die from being hungry but maybe just uncomfortable.

If you are just head hungry then don't complain about it because our heads made us obese unhealthy people. The preop and post op is only a small portion of your life that goes quickly. Welcome hunger and know that it really is a signal to nourish your body with healthy food.

It's been a while since I blogged anything and I think that is becasue I kinda gave up on the idea of getting banded. I just found out this morning that BCBS covers the surgery! So I will be switching proptly! And Next year re-starting my journey of getting banded, because I have been trying things that keep failing. It feels good again to be hopeful. We shall see. HAve a great day everyone.

So I was figuring out my BMI and realized something cool. I no longer qualify for WLS, if I were to go in today. My BMI went from 45 to 34.8 in 5 months. So I'm no longer extremely obese- just obese. So where as before I had a BMI over 40 and a few comorbities which would have had me ok for surgery with a BMI of 35, now after my last doctor check. My blood Pressure was normal 123/72, not the crazy 169/90 it was running before. I am off all my hypertension medications, EKG normal, and my blood sugar is normal where it was on the line of being scary before. It is amazing how much better I feel getting the first 57 pounds off. Now I am almost half to my goal weight-another 64 pounds to be at a normal BMI. Glad I got my band.

One of the best things I have re-discovered was a body shaper! I love mine! I got it at Lane Bryant from Cacique and it was only 45.00. As I am losing, I thought it was a good idea to make sure that I keep things..ummm... sucked in! LOL! I remember after my first child was born my grandmother and mother both kept telling me to wear this god awful girdle and I refused. Oh how many times I have wished I had worn it to keep this tummy from not being so flabby. With mine on, overall I am three inches "slimmer" It is also very comfortable, and does not roll down. The only thing that is a bit of trouble is when nature calls and then I have to basically get undressed to go. I have a friend who had the sleeve and she has been wearing one every day and today I saw her without one. She went from a 26 to a 14 in about four months and she has really done well wearing her body shaper every day. She looks amazing!

Tomorrow is six weeks since my surgery and I feel good. I have a second fill on 4/11., if I need it. I have gone from a size 24 from when I first started my weight loss journey, to a loose size 18 today. I am 55 pounds from my goal.I am also back on my regular gym schedule and that feels awesome! I am toying with the idea of maybe buying a swimsuit this summer..... Well I will think about it
