are you feeling satisfied after eating a few bites, or are you feeling discomfort and pain? If its not pain, then I wouldn't assume that you have a slipped band.

It sounds like you were "sliming" which is what happens when something is stuck, the mouth waters and foams trying to lubricate your passages to get the blocked out.
I would stay away from carbonated beverages - did you Dr say it was ok to have soda? A lot of ppl here say their Dr and Nut. take it out of their diet completely.
If this keeps happening you can stand upright with yoru hands over your head and walk around for a little while to see if it subsides. I suggest you call your Dr and see if he wants you to come in.

ice pops, frozen pops, etc etc. Any type of cream Soup was a savior for me. I would put it in my bullet blender to make sure if it hand anything in it (like cheddar broccoli) that I could drink it without any problems. Peach tea ... Tomato bisque soup. strained lobster bisque soup (costo brand).

Subway has salads, and kids meals which I think are a 3 inch sub. Or you could just get the 6 inch and not eat the whole thing, save it for later. Anywhere with a kids meal is good.
Applebees has Soup and salad (so does Olive Garden).
I dont really eat at Wendy's bc the fries are too tempting.

I was told Protein first, thats what keeps you satisfied.
I also add ff plain greek yogurt to a lot of things, just to boost the Protein. Plain yogurt in chili is really good.
reduced fat Peanut Butter, ff greek yogurt and splenda is a really good low cal snack.< /p>
The small amount of carbs you shoukd be getting, are good carbs,
fruits, veggies and such. Not breads, Pasta and rice.
You say you track, do you measure? Sometimes our eyes play tricks on us.lol
Good luck!
I actually do NOT measure. I try to eyeball it based on the foodguidelines, like a fist equals a cup, etc. Sometimes I pack my lunch in a 1 cup or 1.25 cup container so I know the size is right (but that's rare).
Target has food scales (non digital) on sale for $3 in the front of the store in their bargain bins, so maybe I'll pick one up this weekend

Are you tracking your calories? Are you trying to drink 64 oz of Water a day?
I do track my calories using my fitness pal (user name Sunnyhoney11) and I drink well over 80 oz of water/mixed Water drinks daily.
I dont eat Protein first though, I eat whatever I want first. I'll try that this week.
I do make sure not to drink liquid with my meals.
I don't however make sure that I have Protein at eaxh meal ... I sometimes go without and I guess I can try to work that into my routine also.
Thanks for the great tips!!

Hello all,
I'm trying to get some nutrition tips because my weight loss has been EXTREMELY slow. I exercise regularly and I usually dont eat more than 1.5 cups of food for lunch and dinner with minimal snacking in between ...
I haven't had a one on one meeting with my office's NUT yet because getting to see her is like getting to see the Pope or something - very busy and you cant even talk to her directly ....
anyway, so rules she mentioned in our group glass (some that im having a hard time following) are:
1. eat 1000 cals a day or under
I found this online just now - I'll give it a try since I current eat 1100-1200 daily
http://www.fammed.usouthal.edu/Guides&JobAids/handouts/Metabolic/1000CalMealPlanningGuide.pdf
2. get at least 60-80g or Protein
3. only have 3 carb servings per day (only with 2 meals)
Have your NUT's given you any concrete rules or guidelines? Does anyone have any meal plan suggestions to share?

Eating slower makes me eat less, and I do get tired of chewing and chewing so I just stop eating bc I dont feel like doing all of the work to get the food down (enter slider foods bc they are easy to eat - STAY AWAY FROM THEM).
I have to know that after I eat about 1 cup of food I feel full in my chest, NOT my stomach. and I still feel hungry in my stomach ... but I know that in order to lose weight being hungry isnt the worst thing int he world. My stomach is growling forcfully as I type this and has been for at least an hour, but I know that I don't need to eat anything until lunch time ... and i TRY not to snack between meals unless its fruit or something. I drink between meals to try and keep me full but I still have the feeling of hunger and basically I'm just forcing myself to deal with it. My band is pretty full (hence I get the full feeling in my chest after 1 cup of food) so I dont think I need a fill, I just need to be tough and make healthy eating and losing weight a priority .... its a hard struggle for some of us. Just hang in there and follow your doc and NUT orders.

2 cups of string Beans are 250 cals??? Really I thought 1 cup was only about 70 cals if they were steamed and salted no butter?
I dont eat 1/2 at each meal except for Breakfast when I have a yogurt cup and thats it .... but for lunch and dinner im eating like 1.5 cups each.
NOT to say that I have the best advice because my weight loss is VERY slow ... but just adding my 2 cents

Ive been banded for 16 mons and up until my last fill (last month) I could eat anything and everything I wanted .... well NOW I can't really eat doughy breads. I can eat crackers and toast, but not doughy breads. And french fries are a chore because if I dont chew them enough then I have a problem. Oh and I cant really eat cake now unless I take SUPER TEENY TINY BITES ... sigh.
AND suprisingly I have a slight intolerance to milk now that I didn't have before, it irriates my stomach/digestion now .... sigh.
