Hello to all the 60+ sleevers. My mom is having her surgery on 3/6 - and she is 66. Can any of the over 60 crowd give me any tips on how to help her with the surgery? Anything that she might need that I didn't having the surgery at 45? Any info would be helpful...THANKS!
I can't think of anything that would be different for an older person.
Your mother is fortunate to have you as part of her support system.

I finally got through to Florida BC/BS. They said it was submitted to the correct place and that it's undergoing review. Hopefully will hear good news soon! I'm soooo ready for this!! :-)
Yippee!!!

As a checkup on what the doctor's office was told, call Federal BC/BS back and find out where the paperwork needs to be sent. If it is anyplace other than Florida, and it sounds as though it might be, get the doctor's office to resubmit to the right place immediately. I have Federal BC/BS and was approved in one day.

When you put them in the shake, the entire shake tastes yuck. Try crushing the pills and taking them with a small amount of pudding or yogurt. It will taste bad, but then you can kill the taste with sips from your Protein Shake.< /p>

Spanxx or some other body shapers?

Most of my clothes I put on Freecycle, an online way to offer items to people in your area who want them. You post what you have to give away on their site and people contact you online to ask for the items. You select who you want to have them from the respondents and they come pick up your giveaways. To locate the site for your local Freecycle group, Google Freecycle and your town/city/county.

I was on the anti nausea pill starting 24 hours before surgery. It made me so nauseous I needed a wheel chair to get into the hospital and up to the surgery prep area.

There are many many posts about stalls. Try searching for them. That will give you a lot of information.

That was my experience, too. From what I have read on here, it is not out of the ordinary.

Did you find success with your sleeve or do you think that drinking so quickly could have impeded your progress?
I've had great success.

Three days is such a short period of time. You can do anything for three days. Keep your eyes on the prize.

I did not submit during the holidays, but have Blue Shield/Blue Cross Federal and received approval in one day.

I suggest you stick to your doctor's requirements and not worry about what other doctors say. Your liver will be fine. Fourteen pounds is a lot.
I've been here for a long time and have found that there are many differences in what different doctors require in terms of pre and post diets, exercise, etc. It seems as though it is best to stay on the straight and narrow path of what your doctor says.

The surgery and resultant weight loss won't change the condition that requires those drugs, so I don't think it would change the quantity of the drugs that you take.

DON'T pull them off. They will come off when they are no longer needed. You do need to shower and soap that area up though. Hang in there, it won't be long before they come off of their own accord.

Wait until your doctor clears you for baths. You don't want to risk infecting the incision sites. This is a small short term sacrifice for long term health.
