  1. Was banded jan 31st then had the tubing rip down the seam..total loss of restriction for 5 weeks. I had SDS and I'm finally enjoying a working band and weekly weight loss. Yaay!! I have 4 lbs to go til I'm back at my wedding wt of 239. It feels horrible admiring that, but even worse was the 271 I allowed myself to get to before surgery. I'm actually starting to feel confident and a little sexy again. Never give up.

  2. I was banded the end of January, was in the zone, had lost 30 lbs. I developed a leak and have been an entire miserable month without my band. I'm having it repaired tuesday. I have been starving and depressed, have binged, been anxious and gained some. I don't know how much but I FEEL HORRIBLE. I never want free reign again. I'm such an addict. The initial adjustment to banding was difficult but this is so much worse.

  3. Absolutely feel thinner! It's so nice to get on the scale and not see it go up and down. I feel like a new person. Beautiful even. No longer a fat failure. Thank God that's over and the journey is "on"!!

I'm here waiting in Dr office for fill #2. Not sure if it's necessary but some foods I get only a few bites and others I can eat a "normal" portion.

  4. Hi Ladybandito, Things are going better every day. I'm learning how to take TEENY TINY bites...not just little ones..lol! I'm down a total of 23 lbs and one pant size. My second fill is in a couple of days. I think that one will do it. My Drs here are taking great care of me! Where are you in the journey?

  5. Irushgreene... I hear your frustration but don't give up! Your body could be doing some reorganizing. It's building muscle as you work out and making sure there's no famine. Is 1000 calories a day enough? You probably know if you go too low your body will hold on to it's resources. Keep up with all of the great changes you've made as they will pay off! Listen to your cheerleaders when the path becomes difficult. Most of all remember YOU ARE WORTH IT!! 

  6. I agree..this is Sooo hard! I wish I was having difficulty eating. Lol.. Why would that luck start now? I'm just trying to hold on as well. It's very nice to be down a size in pants. I return to work this week- can't wait because at home i want to snack all day. My first fill is on March 1st. I pray it works..I cant be a diet failure for any more of my life. Bless you all.

  7. Hi MaryDJ,

My doctor only required one week, but I put on a few extra pounds over the holidays, so it's the only way to get it off in time (for me). The one week prior to surgery is not about wt loss per say, but shrinking the fatty liver so it's not in the way during band placement..

  8. You're in my prayers for a safe surgery and comfortable recovery. Just keep in mind.. Pain is easier to contol if you stay on top of it, so communicate with your nurses- ask questions, advocate for yourself, know what meds are available for pain, gas, nausea, etc and how often they are available. Don't be afraid to ask for ice, warm blankets, or help repositioning for comfort. It will all make a big difference 
