I've been banded 2 months now and everything's going great. I want to cheat on my diet tonight for only the 2nd time and eat pizza and wings.
pizza - is thin crust do-able? Anyone had trouble with this getting stuck?
Wings - anyone know how many oz of meat is on each wing on average?
would love any advice.
Thanks!

I've had zero Pasta since I was banded. Trying a whole grain baked ziti tonight.
1 box whole grain Pasta
1 jar of Ragu garden chunky
3/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
3 cups mozzarella cheese
I had 1cc added to my band last week, and they said it already had 1cc in there. So I'm 20% filled.
I've never had whole grain pasta before, so 1. I hope it tastes good going down and 2. I hope it doesn't come up!
Almost 6 weeks banded and have yet to barf. Planning on keeping it that way!
Anyone had trouble with whole grain pasta?

Hi fellow Bandsters,
I finally got up the courage to write my surgery story; I was banded on 1/24. It has photos to go along with it, so I put it on my blog. I hope you will read it and give me your feedback!http://lapbandbarbie.com/
Cheers,
Jen

Sounds like pure jealousy to me. Sometimes it can feel like you never left high school. Tell her if she doesn't have anything nice to say, then keep her pie hole shut! LOL

My dietician told me to keep meat tenderizer on hand for things like this. Apparently you can consumer a spoonful of the meat tenderizer powder and it's been known to help meat slide through. The idea repulses me, but you may want to give it a try! Let us know what happens, either way. Fingers crossed for you!

Mags2u, thanks so much! I have got to blog about surgery next - I'm not emotionally there yet though!
All, I am one week post op today. Went in for my weigh in and wound check today - down 8 pounds. My surgeon doesn't make people diet pre-op, so I started dieting the day I got banded. Have had zero nausea, but I've had gas pains in my chest area that would make you slap your gramma and cuss the pastor. I'm on the mushies diet until 2/28 when I am scheduled for my first fill. Glad everyone is doing ok.

Sunshine, I am from Bama originally - Montgomery! Where are you from? I live in Vegas now.

Mally, where did you get the book? Online?

Thanks for inviting me to this group! I got banded on 1/24 and currently recovering. I'm not sure if this is the appropriate place to post, I'm still learning my way around this site. Look forward to meeting other January alums.

I, too, had my Lap Band surgery yesterday. I was in and out in 6 hours. My port incision hurts like the devil and I feel full of gas, but otherwise doing much better today. I hope that the others that had surgery yesterday are doing well. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I'm hoping to feel good enough to catch up on my blogging tomorrow. I just set up a weight loss ticker on My Fitness Pal so I can start tracking the loss. Take care new friends!

Dear @healthy and happy and Mis73,
Thanks for the warm welcome! It is encouraging reading these stories from you both and thanks for the advice. I am excited to get started, but admit being nervous reading over all the paperwork and essentially signing my life away! LOL! I will definitely keep you posted. Take care!

Dear @journey4me, I am running a self-hosted Wordpress blog only because I have been blogging about entertainment for many years. You can set up a free blog at www.wordpress.com. If you'd like to check my blog out, I have a new post coming out at 8am tomorrow morning. www.LapBandBarbie.com. Good luck!

Just wanted to say hi. I've been lurking for a while, and finally wanted to post. I am getting banded on 1/24. I have a half day of final pre-op tomorrow. It's finally getting "real." I started a blog so I could track my progress and use it as a journal, I saw that a lot of other folks do that, too. So hello! Anything you can suggest to calm my nerves would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Jen
