Making Dinner For The Family After Being Banded
Thank you all for your replies! My Hubby and I talked tonight and he said he would take care of the food and just to worry about myself. It's crazy how something so minor can effect your thoughts pre surgery. I'm sure there will be many more post surgery but I'm up for the challenge!!

Making Dinner For The Family After Being Banded
As my surgery date grows closer (2 days) and I will be on a liquid diet tomorrow, I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed about feeding my family over the next 6 weeks since I will be so restricted. I am a stay at home Mom so meals are usually prepared by me. My family is so supportive and will fend for themselves but it's just an obligation I feel to do for them. It's not like I think I will "slip" but out of sight out of mind. Anyone else out there struggle mentally with that and if so how did you compromise to get use to life with the band and family meal planning?? It seems a little silly to me but it's what's going through my mind tonight among so many other things pre surgery.....

Question About Qualifying
It truly really depends on your insurance. My insurance wouldn't even consider it without a BMI of 40 or over or BMI 35-40 with a severe co morbidity. I also had to provide them with a 2 year weight history as well as a 6 month weight management program along with all the tests and other visits. I am finally getting banded Wednesday after 9 long months of trying to get qualified. If you click on my link my story is the only blog I have done so far. I wanted this so bad I was willing to do whatever it took and just never gave up on it. Good luck to you and please keep us posted!!!

Trying Not To Get My Hopes Up Re: Insurance
My insurance required 2 years of weight history and diet attempts and then the 6 month requirement was through my bariatric DR and a nutritionist. Can you call your insurance and ask or do you have a member handbook to refer to??

Trying Not To Get My Hopes Up Re: Insurance
Well I first started out last December 2011 and then found out in February of this year that my insurance required a 6 month weight management. My last day for that was August 1st and my paper work was submitted to insurance on Friday, August 3rd and I found out Friday. So 7 days of complete misery waiting to be approved. Do you have any co morbidities?? I have 2 and a mils 3rd so I think that helped.

Trying Not To Get My Hopes Up Re: Insurance
I forgot to tell you. I actually wore ankle weights in the begining to get me over that 40 BMI hump. Insurance requirements can be a challenge. Keep us posted!!

4 Day's Until I'm Banded
Well I have finally calmed down from finding out I was approved. That was surely the longest 7 days of my life. I felt like a little kid again waiting for Christmas! So as I sit here tonight I'm feeling pretty good and have just been going through all the forums for insight on how my life is going to change. I am super happy but also trying to stay realistic in my own personal journey and knowing the weight is not just going to fall off overnight. Darn!! HaHa! I ordered 2 books today from Amazon and am excited for those to come. I am planning on going out and purchasing the Magic Bullet unless someone can suggest a better food processor?! I just like the "convenience look" of it but I've heard some say it leaks. I plan on starting my own personal blog page to have for day 1 banded and beyond. For me, I think it's important to referee back to where I was when I feel like I'm having a bad day. Exactly 1 year ago I was 60lbs lighter than I am now due to HCG shots and although it was a quick fix I wish I would have journaled how good I felt. Of course I gained it all back and then some. Ahhhhhh, the things we do for vanity. I am looking forward to finally embarking on a journey that will stay with me for a lifetime! Life is good!

August Roll Call
Yeahyyyy! I'm excited for you too!!!!! I think I uploaded the picture in "gallery" in the drop down box in the upper right hand corner under my name. Let me know if that works! If you hover over the blank picture on your profile it may give you the option to upload. ?? I can't remember but let me know and I'll help you if those 2 options don't work

August Roll Call
If you look up at the top right by your name there is a drop down box. Click on "my profile". Where the picture is on the upper left corner, hover mouse over it and it will say "upload picture" or "change". Click on that and it will prompt you to upload your pic. Hope this makes sence

August Roll Call
Still on for surgrey next Wednesday the 15th BUT stil waiting and waiting and waiting for ODS insurance approval. My paperwork was submitted last Friday. This has been the hardest part of my 9 month journey to be banded so far. I wouldn't be surprised if it hasn't given me an ulcer! I am such not a fan of the "unknown". Good luck to everyone having surgrey today and tomorrow!!

Waiting On Insurance Approval...........
Tonight as I sit here and type this I am an emotional wreck! I started my journey to get a Lapband back in January of 2011. I had no idea what I was in for just to get an approval from my insurance. Fast forward to today, August 3rd, 2012. My paperwork was finally submitted this morning and now I sit here and wait and wait and wait for the answer. This so far has truly been the hardest and worst part. My surgrey is scheduled for August 15th and to come this far and be denied would devastate me. I'm such a happy go lucky, possitive person but this feeling I have of the unknown is seriously breaking me down. I just hope that in 2 weeks I look back at this blog after my band and tell myself how silly I was to be so stressed. I'm crossing every part of my body and praying like no other!! God give me the strength to endure this waiting process!!
