  1. Thank you!! I never ate rice cakes but I will say they are air like but filling if that makes sence. They are really light and crisp and make me feel like I'm eating chips! I'm hooked!!
  2. I discovered a new food today that I just have to share!! I also listed some of my current favorites! Just click on my blog below and it is the lastest entry
  3. I'm so thankful for your post and all the responses. I was on vacation the last 5 days and wasn't always a good girl with my food choices. I know what I need to do and tomorrow is a new day. I just needed to see I am not alone. It was a huge family vacation and my family are huge eaters. At times it was super easy but there were those times it was super hard. I'm just glad we all don't live together!!! Thanks again for your post and all the wonderful responses!!
  4. Congratulations and good for you!!! It's so nice to reward with something other than food isn't it?! I am also going to do another tattoo, I just have not decided on my goal for that. 60lbs sounds like a great mark! I think that's what I will make it!! Do you know what you are going to have done yet?
  5. Hysterical, all of it!! I can't stop laughing as I am picturing it all!!
  6. Yes and yes It's what some call a soft signal to be careful with whatever you are eating or drinking!!
  7. That is what I am craving!!! So bizzare!!!
  8. Happy Birthday Jean!! I can't wait to read your books!!
  9. I have been hearing mixed things about the Gas X. Some say that it doesn't work because the gas isn't directly in the intestines?! I went through almost a whole box but not going to get anymore. I am like you and have been walking etc. and nothing helps. It is coming out though but as fast as it goes out it builds right back up again. So weird! I wonder if it has anything to do with my Protein shake?! I vaguely remember feeling bloated drinking the shakes pre surgery. I have the Premier ones from costco. I think I'll go buy the whey today at GNC and see if that is better. Good luck to you
  10. I was sent home with Oxycodone. Bless your heart. Definitely call your Dr.!!!
  11. Day 3 post op and still having major gas pain
  12. I'm in so much pain today. Day 2 post op and the gas pain is almost unbearable I'm taking 2 Oxycodone every 4 hours and on a heating pad. Please tell me tomorrow will be better?! I can tolerate a lot of pain but this is knocking me down......
  13. I just got to the hospital!!! Happy day for us!!!!!!!
  14. Thank you all for your replies! My Hubby and I talked tonight and he said he would take care of the food and just to worry about myself. It's crazy how something so minor can effect your thoughts pre surgery. I'm sure there will be many more post surgery but I'm up for the challenge!!
  15. As my surgery date grows closer (2 days) and I will be on a liquid diet tomorrow, I can't help but feel a little overwhelmed about feeding my family over the next 6 weeks since I will be so restricted. I am a stay at home Mom so meals are usually prepared by me. My family is so supportive and will fend for themselves but it's just an obligation I feel to do for them. It's not like I think I will "slip" but out of sight out of mind. Anyone else out there struggle mentally with that and if so how did you compromise to get use to life with the band and family meal planning?? It seems a little silly to me but it's what's going through my mind tonight among so many other things pre surgery.....
  16. It truly really depends on your insurance. My insurance wouldn't even consider it without a BMI of 40 or over or BMI 35-40 with a severe co morbidity. I also had to provide them with a 2 year weight history as well as a 6 month weight management program along with all the tests and other visits. I am finally getting banded Wednesday after 9 long months of trying to get qualified. If you click on my link my story is the only blog I have done so far. I wanted this so bad I was willing to do whatever it took and just never gave up on it. Good luck to you and please keep us posted!!!
  17. I have created my own blog page and will be posting on there from now on http://roxygirlsjourney.wordpress.com
  18. How exciting!!! Good luck!
  19. My insurance required 2 years of weight history and diet attempts and then the 6 month requirement was through my bariatric DR and a nutritionist. Can you call your insurance and ask or do you have a member handbook to refer to??
  20. Well I first started out last December 2011 and then found out in February of this year that my insurance required a 6 month weight management. My last day for that was August 1st and my paper work was submitted to insurance on Friday, August 3rd and I found out Friday. So 7 days of complete misery waiting to be approved. Do you have any co morbidities?? I have 2 and a mils 3rd so I think that helped.
  21. I forgot to tell you. I actually wore ankle weights in the begining to get me over that 40 BMI hump. Insurance requirements can be a challenge. Keep us posted!!
