    Wish Fulfillment!

I am suppossed to get mine tomorrow, but their is a big snow storm coming in and I might not be able to get there. I aven't lost any weight since post-op except mabe a 1 1/2 pounds and I am worried that it won't work either. Crossing my fingers. Congrats to you!
  2. I am having the same problem. Banded January 18th. I won't get my first fill until March 1st, and I heard that I will not feel that much different. I think the trick is to excercise. My surgeon originally told me to wait 6 weeks after surgery before excercising. But at my recent post- op visit two weeks after surgery he said I could start excercising and do anything? My friend tore her port from her fascia four weeks after her surgery and they had to go in and restitch it. She also has the same surgeon as me. All I can think of is he will be paid to do another surgery if I tear it. So I am sticking to walking and light 5lb arm weights. Let me know how your doing. I am feel frustrated with my appetite and no more weight loss as well.

Anyone Experience Anger Soon After Surgery?

Thanks Kristy for your comment. Thank God I am better now. Once I recognized it I made a conscious effort to calm down and not let my hormones get the better of me. Good luck too!
  4. I had surgery on January 18th and I had an early period by two weeks the day after surgery. What I have noticed is I have the anger that I get when i PMS. Anyone else have that happen?

Well Its Food Funeral In Overdrive !!!!!

Wow your lucky. My surgeon makes you do 10 days full liquids before surgery. 5 days clear liquids after surgery, plus 10 additional days full liquids after that. I get to move onto blended food next Wednesday although I have been cheating with a scrambled egg here and there. My last day to eat before the 10 day pre-liquid diet my husband and I were going to the Olive Garden to use a gift card and the wait time to be seated was 2 hours and we had to catch a movie so I never got my meal and boy did I feel jipped. Enjoy the chicken. Sounds delicous! Good luck on your surgery. I am sure you will do great.

Anyone Experience Anger Soon After Surgery?

I hope that is it. I just found a site where a lot of people complained of anger and hormones fluxuating. I am trying not to snap at my poor husband. Thanks for your feedback.
  8. I feel amazing! Had surgery on the 18th and incision sites are healed and can barely see them. Not feeling any pain and never took any pain meds so my digestion is doing well.

  13. Are you being careful at what you eat? The band is not magic. Fast food restaurants are not your friends. If you ate like crap you will feel like crap.

    Post Op Day 5

Today I am back on full liquids and although I am excited, my belly sure isn't. I started the morning out with some Lifeway Rasperry Lowfat Kefir. It is 99% Lactose free and high in probiotics which I figure would help the transition. But alas I still had some unhappy trips to the bathroom. I will not go back to my homemade protein shakes until tomorrow, asI believe it would be a shock to my system after just having clear liquids for 5 days. My stomach incisions are healing nicely, and the pain is almost gone. Thank God for Children's Liquid Tylenol which is the only thing I could take when i got home. It helped me through a very rough patch and an unexpecteded menstrual period. The cramps were insane. The oxycodone elixir made me dry heave and I am going to tkae it back the hospital for them to dispose of properly. My sister-in-law said I would make a bad drug addict. I tend to agree. Yesterday I went to the grocery store for my first outing with my husband and walked around for 30 minutes pushing the cart. Boy was I tired when I got home! I fell asleep on the couch for 2 hours. When I awoke, we watched a movie and then couldn't fall asleep again at bedtime. Bad move on my part. I need to get back to 100% by Wednesday when i have to go back to work which is driving almost an hour each way. Plus it is 150 steps from the front door to my desk and on average I put on 2 miles in the office walking around. It ought to be interesting to see if people look at me and notice I have almost lost 15 pounds since January 8th. Time to look for the smaller clothes in my closet to wear. I have plenty of them. That is the latest update. Hope you all are doing well.

    For Women's Only

I have mine right now and I had after surgery 3 days ago. It is also 11/2 weeks earlier than it was suppossed to be. The cramps are worse then I have ever had. Can't take Midol either, Plus not on any narcotics because they made me sick even with anti-naseau medication. Just waiting for it to be over!

    1 1/2 Days Before Surgery

The day is almost here. I am excited and yes a little scared about going under the scalpel. So far I have been on the pre-op diet full liquids for 9 days and done surprisingly well considering I didn't even think I would make it this far without real food. Surgery in a day and a half. Then it is onto five days of clear liquids, back to two weeks of full liquids. Then a week of blended foods, a week of soft foods and by March real food. Today I was down 18.5 pre-surgery. My doctor wants me to weigh 167 which is 63 pounds away. I have asthma, sleep apnea and degenerative disc disease. I am hoping that these things will get better. I didn't excercise as much I would have liked, but I am prone to injury and I was trying to avoid getting hurt before surgery. I want to enjoy excercise and take dance classes again, but I don't want to be a gym rat or an obsessive fitness nut. So many people I know who are trying to lose weight go on these excercise binges for months, talk about what they have done constantly and in the process lose any personality they ever had. And some quit. I most of all hate the lecturers and the Zumba nuts. Sorry if you like Zumba! I just want to do what I have to do and then move onto other things. I don't talk too much about my weight at work or about the surgery. I figure if people ask me about my weight loss or compliment me. I will just say thank you and move onto other topics. I guess this is because I am afraid of failure, We shall see.

    1 1/2 Days Before Surgery

Thanks! You too! Let me know how your feeling. I only communicate through this site for now. I don't post anything about this on Facebook as only I don't need the hassle from the negative people.
  21. 4 more days until surgery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  22. I am going through the exact same thing and my surgery is one day after yours! It is good to see we are not alone. My co-worker actual said to me that weight loss won't reduce your asthma or sleep apnea symptoms. LOL. When she said that I knew she was jealous and ignorant to boot. Don't let the haters bother you. I also am going to you say to them "You never had an opinion when my weight was 247 pounds. Now your concerned for my health. How noble of you. Let me know how your feeling after surgery! Good luck.
