Hiding The Lap Band From Others And General Advice For A Newbie
A couple things, first, remember this is your choice and don't ever feel bad about hiding it. You don't owe anyone any explanations for your eating habits. Maybe someday you'll be comfortable sharing the fact you're banded, but for now, do what makes you happy. As far as eating with others. Honestly, if you're careful to chew thoroughly and take small bites, you'll be just fine. I eat out rather often and only once have I ever had an issue. It was totally my fault, too. I didn't chew nearly enough and wasn't paying attention to what I was eating all. You'll learn what works best with your band, what gives you trouble, and you can always eat publicly accordingly. It really isn't hard to hide at all. At least I don't think so.

Aggressive Fills?
I've heard of some people getting 4-5cc fills. Some are VERY aggressive. Personally, I prefer conservative fills. It's much easier to ease into the Green Zone than blow past it into too tight and try to back into it.

That's awesome! Congratulations!!!

Bad Breath?
There's a good chance of it being from keotosis due to the lack of calories during the post op diet. It will pass when you're finally able to eat more real food. Best wishes to you.

Popcorn???
I love popcorn, I'm just careful not to eat any unpopped kernels.

First Meal After
Yeah that's another thing that should be standardized. I didn't have a pre-op diet either, but my post op diet was brutal. I was liquids for the first 4 weeks after surgery. I thought I was going to starve to death for sure lol.

First Meal After
I really wish they would. It would make our lives so much easier!! I wish they'd have a set post op diet standard for all Lap Band patients!

When To Start Looking Into This...
My surgeon says I'll lose at least 15 pounds from the tummy tuck I'm getting this spring. Possibly even as much as 20. Yes, I have *that* much gross excess skin. The closer you are to your goal weight the better results you'll have. I'm also desperate to get mine removed, but I'm biding my time until the spring when I'll have lost more. I figure I can live like this awhile longer if doing so means I'll have the best results.

Time To Stop The Chick Sh*t!!!!!
I've never called anyone a b*tch Getting snarky simply because you don't like someone's response to your post is both immature and undignified. This is a forum, if you don't want people to respond to your posts then I suggest you get a blog instead. Otherwise, if you choose to continue to post on a public forum, it's YOU that needs to "suck it up".

First Meal After
Oh well that's cool then! If you're on soft foods, that's a great meal!

Time To Stop The Chick Sh*t!!!!!
Excuse me? Perhaps you should show a little maturity and dignity.

Banded 14/11/12
Oh that's definitely possible. You're only a couple days post op. Give it a few more days and you'll start feeling more like yourself again.

First Meal After
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but fish is not a mushy. It's a soft food, depending on how it's prepared. The only way it could be a mushy is if you put it through a blender. Mushies are just that- mushy. Think baby food consistency.

Time To Stop The Chick Sh*t!!!!!
Meh, I've been bashed countless times because people seem to think their extreme dislike of the truth somehow makes it less true. I just chalk it up to their ignorance. *shrugs*

Post Fill Portions...
A cup of food is fine. In fact, that is the maximum you should be eating per meal, 1 cup of food. You'll do just fine

French Fries?!
Oh for sure. I still have them once in awhile without any problems. I mean...I'm human... I have to sneak a fry once in awhile

Time To Stop The Chick Sh*t!!!!!
EDIT: I found it. Jeez. Sadly, not the first time I've seen there here and I'm sure not the last either.

How Soon After Post Op Can I "focus" On Weight Loss?
Well for starters, "eating as little as possible" isn't the object nor is it wise. Eating healthy, balanced meals within the parameters set for you by your nutritionist is what you should be doing. If you're not getting enough calories, not only will it eventually drastically stall your weight loss but you'll burn muscle rather than fat. Talk to your doctor to make sure he says it's ok, but you should be able to start walking right now. As for other exercise, most are told to weight 4-6 weeks after surgery to allow your body time to heal.

Diurex After Surgery? Thoughts?
Talk to your doctor to make sure it won't mix badly with any other drugs they pumped into your system.

9 Weeks Post Op, Was Doing Great Till Today :-(
Vomiting is never normal, and never good, when you have a Lap Band. Is it possible you have a stomach bug? Go back to liquids for a day or two to let your stomach rest. If it continues, call your doctor immediately.

Carb Cycling- An Experiment Gone Right!
I'm so excited it's working for you girls too!! This TOTALLY makes my day!!!!!!!! The best part is, we're not doing anything unhealthy or extreme. We're just maximizing the use of the food we eat to keep our metabolisms active. Btw, I'm down another pound this morning too!
