  1. 48 hours from now I will no longer have a belly button! :)

  2. Went to get pre-op blood work done and saw a man that was easily over 500 pounds in the waiting room. All I could think was that I hoped he was there as my surgeon's patient to get bariatric surgery to save his life.

  3. "Comparison is the thief of joy"- Theodore Roosevelt. Wise words we'd all do well to remember!

  4. I've decided I'm spending the next couple days doing yard work since I'll be unable to lift for quite awhile after Wednesday. It's beautiful outside and I love working on the yard so it's a good thing :)

  5. 5 days 'til my tummy tuck, skin removal, and hernia repair. I know I should be excited but I'm just dreading this. I just had surgery a month ago and really don't want to do this again so soon- especially since this one is sure to make past surgeries look like a cake walk.

  6. Made it through my Grandma's funeral week without gaining. I didn't lose anything either but I'm just glad I maintained despite the stress and barrage of bad food around me for days.

  7. Thank goodness for mothers. Tomorrow is the wake for my grandma and everything I own is at least 2 sizes too big. Being as I'm having the TT next week, buying new clothes right now would be pointless. So, my mom was able to take in a blouse for me, about 2 inches on each side. It's still big but a lot better and will at least get me through the wake and funeral.

  8. I lost my Grandma today. I was holding her hand and telling her how much I loved her as she took her last breath. I swear if I can make it through this next week without gaining weight it'll be a miracle.

  9. Ignorance isn't bliss when it comes to health. Please, take responsibility and educate yourself about the band BEFORE you leap headfirst into surgery.

  10. My weight is finally moving down again after having my gallbladder removed. Thank God!

  11. I tried on the pants I wore into my band surgery 15 months ago. I can literally fit my whole body in one leg! LOL!

  12. Common sense isn't always so common.

  13. Hernia repair and tummy tuck scheduled for May 1st. I am SO nervous.

  14. The scale says I have finally lost all the fluid retention from surgery, yet my ankles and feet are still really swollen. I think I have just lost fat and am still retaining stupid fluids. This is ridiculous.

  15. I'm addicted to jazzed up chili. 2/3 cup 98% fat free turkey chili with beans, 1 tablespoon low fat cream cheese, and 1/4 cup low fat shredded cheese. Only 257 calories of yummy goodness!

  16. Only 4 more pounds of water to lose yet my ankles and feet are still swollen and huge. Definitely going to be discussing this with my doc next week.

  17. 11 pounds of water weight gone, 5 more to go. My feet and ankles are still ridiculously swollen. Ugh!

  18. I took my daughter prom dress shopping today. As I was lacing up the back of her gown, I saw myself in the mirror and it hit me "wow you're not a fat chic anymore". I'm still very curvy and chubby but it actually shocked me to see my own reflection and not think "ugh so fat!"

  19. I'm feeling about 85% normal again. I even fit back into my smaller pants. Now I just have to get rid of 9 more pounds of fluid.

  20. Happy and Blessed Easter to all!

  21. Just took a much needed walk to enjoy the spring weather. I figure there's no better way to work the dang fluid retention from surgery out. I'm definitely feeling a lot better today.

  22. Home from the hospital and look like a human sausage. Three days of IV fluids and I'm so bloated it's downright painful.

  23. Gallbladder removed and resting comfortably in my hospital room. I'm very excited to go home tomorrow!

  24. Gallbladder is going to be removed tomorrow morning then he wants to fix the hernias and do a tummy tuck next month. It's going to be a long couple weeks.

  25. Well I'm back in the hospital. Not only is the abdominal hernia acting up but apparently I have a gallbladder full of stones, too. My blood pressure keep dropping too. It's currently 90/53 and I have low potassium. I seriously have no idea what's going on and waiting for my doc. Prayers are welcome!
