I too was taken off my blood pressure medicine the day of surgery. I monitor it every day and it is consistantly 128 / 65. AMAZING!!! Love my sleeve!!

Yep...been there. Good lesson to learn early. It will help to prevent the same mistake later. You are doing great! 31 lbs in 2 months is wonderful! Congrats!!

Great story! Gotta love our sleeves! Congrats!!

Most of the reason we were only able to sip at first is because our stomach was swollen. When the swelling starts to go down, we are able to drink more without it hurting. I miss being able to gulp Water though. Although I don't have to sip, I can only drink about two "gulps" before I have to let it settle where I can drink anymore.
BTW, I hit a stall during my second week, too. I didn't lose one pound that week. Weird, huh? I think it is our bodies saying "what the heck did you just do to me??". I started losing again the next week though.
Keep going! You are doing great!!

Yep, I bet you won't do that again. So in a way it was a good thing to experience! Now it's a new day and a new beginning!

Congrats! That's wonderful! I haven't experienced the social eating yet and I kind of dread it. My wife and kids are the only ones who know that I have had the surgery so when I finally eat with other family or friends, it may be awkward. I guess I will deal with it then.
Great job on the 2.6!! Wooohooo!!!

Well, speaking from a guys point of view, my sex life has increased dramatically. Not to be too graphic here, but there are things we couldn't do before that we are able to do now, kind of like the honeymoon all over again. My wife was very supportive of my surgery, and now we are both working out together so even that has improved our relationship. We encourage each other more now as we support each other in our weight loss goals. It is actually very exciting. I can see how it can be a little nerving though. I am 6 foot tall and actually carry my current 263 pounds fairly well. (Ugh...I hate to say this next part for fear of everyone thinking I'm "all that", because I know I'm not and never will be...lol) I have had a few ladies in the office start with the flirting that I hadn't seen before. While flattering, I am focused on my beautiful wife. She really has been with me through "thick and thin", pun intended. She deserves the very best, and not that I am the very best husband, I just try to be.
Anyways, that is how the sleeve has effected my life with my wife. I wouldn't change it for the world. I have seen a positive change in all phases of my life and I thank God for that!

Hmmmm....I have Texas BCBS and I had a BMI of 42 and was approved fairly quick. I would definately appeal this. It's odd they would deny you for the sleeve but approve bypass. Good luck to you!

Completely normal. I had a stall at 10 days too. I didn't loose anything for a whole week. Your body is just saying "hey...what's going on?!" Then it will get back on board with you and you will be losing weight again before you know it. Hang in there!!

Very nice! Thanks for the perspective!

Anyone tried the 10 Minute Trainer by Beachbody? My wife and I started it last night and it seems pretty good. I just wanted to see if anyone has used this and how was/is your experience with it?

Most of my Vitamins are chewable or sublingual. I do take a fish oil in gel form that I do not crush or chew. It is big and I don't have any problems with it. I am 53 days out.

Praying for you during this difficult time, Irene. Your encouragement on this forum has blessed us all. Please know that we are all thinking of you praying for you. Take your time and love yourself. We appreciate you!

Congrats, Julie! That is awesome!! Thanks for the encouragement!

I am pretty excited today. I just reached the halfway mark to my goal! I started out at 330 (pre-op). Today, 53 days post-op, I have lost 66 lbs and over half way to my goal of 200!! (I do have a secret goal of 175, but don't tell anyone.)
Thanks everyone for your encouragement!
Much love!

Congrats! Sounds like you are doing very well!

Yes! Congrats and welcome! I know you will find this forum to be very informative and helpful. We have all been in your shoes (except for the middle east part). The support here on this forum has helped me tremendously. I imagine any question you have has already been asked here, but feel free to ask away. That is what it is for.
Preparing mentally is probably the best thing to do. Getting my arms around the fact that I will not longer eat the way I used to was a good thing for me to realize and prepare for.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and please keep us updated!
Good luck!!
