  1. momofthree - Thanks for the message! You will do great! Lean on Him and your family, as well as the others in this group and stay positive. I was a little nervous too but came though just fine. Stay in touch and let us know how it goes!

gmanbat - Good to hear you are doing well. What a great thing to go through with your wife by your side doing the same thing. What an encouragement to each other! Congrats!!

  2. I used Dr. Kim. He was very nice. Like the others, he didn't come see me after the surgery but oh well. His office staff is great! They made the entire process so easy, and they even helped me set up most of out of office appointments (psych/heart/etc). They even set me up with a sleep study (insurance paid for it) to find out that I had sleep apnia. Then, after getting all of my weight history from my primary physician, they submitted my case to the insurance company in which case I was approved fairly quick.

I would highly recommend Dr Kim. They will make it simple for you!

  3. Glad to see you survived. I have a 2007 Ultra Classic that I totalled last July. I faired okay but my wife broke her tailbone. She's okay now but could barely walk for a month. I can only imagine all you have gone though. Hope the sleeve goes well for you and keep us updated on things are going.

  4. Hi Bryan! Welcome and congrats! I am a little over two weeks post op and I haven't had any complications besides the nausea for the first 18 hours or so. Wasn't too bad. Everyone is different, but I feel most people don't have many complications. Best of luck and let us know how it goes!

  5. Hmmmm....Interesting. Do you have an issue with high blood pressure too, because you might want to get that checked. This is a forum where people go to read and listened to like minded people and see and hear their experiences. I wouldn't go to a post menopausal forum to find out about why I am losing my hair. I am new to the forum as I was just sleeved on 12/31. But it was helpful to me to read that others have had these stalls. I stalled my second week and didn't lose one pound even though I was eating 500 calories a day. My Dr didn't warn me about the stalls. If I hadn't read it on these forums, I would have never known and thought "what in the world am I doing wrong?" or "did I make a wrong decision in doing this?"... It is comforting to see others who have gone through these stalls and have picked back up on the other side. Because someone said that they were stalling helped me though my stall. So I agree with the others...If you don't like to read about stalls, dont. Don't complain about the "complainers". It is hypacritical and isn't what these forums are for.

  6. Congrats, Lyra, on making that big decision. It is one of the most important decisions you will ever make. It was for me. I am 42 yrs old andI have 3 boys ages 14, 13, and 10. I had to do something to get healthy and I tried just about everything. I have some years left and I want to actually be able to play with my boys, take them to Six Flags and be able to ride rides with them, all the good things a father should do with their children, yet I could never do before. I was sleeved on Dec 31st. I weighed in at 330 prior to my pre-op diet. 17 days post-op, I am down to 279.5. I feel better, I am already more active. I am a bit tired through out the day, but that is just because I am still on phase 2 of my liquid diets and am not getting in a whole lot of calories. My goal is to be able to take them to Six Flags this summer. They are excited about it...and so am I!

You can do this! If I can, so can you...and you will do great! Keep us posted and best of luck!!
