  1. Welcome back! I really hope you use this tool for all it can do for you before you consider another surgery that will actually change ur internal anatomy!!! Yikes my brother has bypass years ago and needs a huge bag of supplements andhas the most wretched bathroom issues ever. He actually has gained a lot of weight back. Anyway, stay excited about you. No one is here to judge! Start today! Who you are belongs to God and what you've done He has already forgiven! Start livin!

  2. I actually went to five seminars in order to not just get info but get a feel for the surgeons and see how they answered my questions and how they came off. My Doc recommended I lift no more than 10 lbs up to four weeks after surgery but I am a CNA and I went back to work 4 days after surgery and began transfering patients to and from wheelchairs, shower chairs, beds etc. I don't recommend this activity so quick but I did it and I was fine. As for a surgeon in your area search the surgeons and reviews here on this site. Good luck to you.

  3. Hi, I wish you the best of luck on your personal journey. While there is no replacement for the support of friends and family I've been a member here for a few weeks and I've found you can ask for info and experience testimonials on any topic and people are very honest and helpful. I had surgery in California and found that the outpatient surgery departments are kind of loud and frustrating people are in and out a lot but youl be in and out fast too. As long as you feel you have a great doc then keep the faith. Good luck to you and kno you can accomplish your goal!

  4. Hi Malinda, when you are ready for anything you will feel it inside. I too have a family member with gastric bypass and I have to remind myself I will not lose the weight that fast and dramatic but we are all individuals and our bodies know what they need. I congratulate youon taking back your life. I am very candid about my journey in my blog. We are all friends here. Fight what you can and God will be your guide... (And your Doctors too of course) Good Luck to you and stay excited about YOU!

  5. I feel you! Hi, please try to go into this as a wonderful experience for the rest of ur life. I know its scary! I to am the mom of a two year old I went back to work after 3 days off and I'm a CNA in a senior living facility. My husbands support consisited of driving me home from surgery because he was such an emotional wreck in fear of something going wrong. Please reach out here as much as you want. I don't know what you will go through but for me the worst part was the shoulder pain from the gas. GasX meltaway strips were my best friend, and when my baby was restless yo gabba gabba and angry birds while laying on my side in bed with him did the trick along with coloring books and gluing Beans onto shoboxes just to keep him busy.

  6. Hi! I'm new to the forum and just wanted to post a little about who I am. I was banded on December 23, 2011, so like two weeks ago. My surgeon is Dr. Salimitari who is heaven sent! AMAZING! If anyone is considering Surgery in So Cal Dr Sal is the way to go. You'll get extraordinary care! I just had my first post op visit and I've lost 20 pounds. YOWZA! I feel like a million bucks. I have two kids ones 17 the other is 2. I'm a nurse and a make up artist in Los Angeles California. Looking forward to sharing experiences and stories with everyone.
