  1. This is a great forum!!! N I'm sooo glad to have read ur post. This is EXACTLY what I hope the band will provide for me. I'm soooo afraid of being in constant fear of being stuck, of being completely incapable of having a few bites of the foods I love (breads, rice, etc...). This has given me hope that life will be OKAY, in fact will be GREAT, with the band! Thanks n continued success!!! U have been inspirational!
  2. Well, I'm still on my liquid diet so right now I don't think I can even have A drink. Can't wait till I can. I know it'll make things just a bit less boring.
  3. Yeah, I suppose you're right. It just feels like punishment b/c it's been so long since I could go out to eat n drink!!! Lol Can't wait till I can go out like 'normal'. Thanks!
  4. Yesterday made a week since I was banded. So far so good! I actually lost 20 lbs so far (10 lbs with the pre-op liquid diet and 10 since the surgery). Super happy and excited about that...However, this is when things are getting tough! I am soooo darn hungry right now. Am wishing the days to go by quickly so I can finally progress to the next stage...And the boredom certainly is NOT helping. I tended to be quiet the partyier...N now??? Bored at home. My social life is truly the thing I miss most!

  6. I'm sorry it turned out that way for u mwest! It wasn't too horrible for me besides the expected bouts of gas. But in the end it will DEFINITELY be the best thing that has happened to us n that we have DONE for ourselves! We are here together, if u need any support reach out to us! I THOUGHT I would be able to go back to work 4 days post-op but it'll actually be 10 days.
  7. Lmaoooooo....I totally get what you mean! I really have only been aware of my weight these past 6 mos b/c of doctor's appts. Before then I LITERALLY had not weighed myself in years. N the scale I own now I only have due to a "Biggest Loser" challenge we had a work. (Which I won 2nd place for and that was the price. Lol). So I totally understand! I'm glad you and ur scale are on better terms now! Lol We got this!!!
  8. I went for it and weighed myself!!! Yay!!! Also lost 10 pounds!!! I feel so happy, I thought the scale was lying! LOL! Had everyone weigh themselves to see if it was accurate! Alrighty! Let's keep on pushing!!! We got this!!!
  9. Thank you so much for this VERY helpful advice!!! Just had my surgery last week but have been constantly thinking about the fills. Glad I know now what to more or less expect. N how to avoid anything as traumatic as that. Sorry, u had to experience that! =\
  10. I felt the same way. The only thing that helped the dry mouth was having some warm chicken broth. Maybe some warm tea would do the same?
  11. Happy 1 week everyone!!!! Feeling much better today n yeah, I decided to just go back on Monday. Thanks for the well-wishes everyone! I'm glad the mystery was solved, Nicole!!! Hope u start feeling relief soon, but at least u now know it wasn't anything serious n totally normal. Congrats on ur weight loss!!! Woooo-hoo!!! I have yet to weigh myself. Kinda scared. Hope I'm not dissapointed. N oh, am I a sick n tired of this damn liquid diet stage!!! Can't wait till Monday so I can finally progress to mushies. Enjoy ur new stage mama!!!
  12. Yeah, I can totally see why he would want additional rest now!!! It was definitely a bit scary this morning. I even had to hold back tears. It was such an overpowering feeling n I felt so alone in the midst of all the strangers rushing to work. But thank Goodness, it didn't get any worse n I made sure to stop trying to fight thru. The lack of nutrients definitely played a major role this morning. =\ But thanks for the support Tray! Feeling much better now.
  13. Ughhh...Attempted going back to work this morning. Was feeling good n ready. That is until I started commuting. Went up a flight of stairs to catch the train n I had instant dizziness. And no, I don't believe it was due to my surgery. It was due to the dreaded 'woman monthly visit'. Ughhh....How horrific! It got progressively worse. As I got nearer, I got dizzier n dizzier. Then the nausea kicked in. Haven't even had nausea with the surgery! Finally had to call my supervisor as I was 10 minutes away n tell her I couldn't go in YET AGAIN. I could hardly get the words out I was having coldsweats and feeling completely faint. I tried to avoid scheduling my surgery around this time but I also wanted it ASAP so I couldn't put it off. Sorry if this is TMI, guys!
  14. Phenomenal job!!! Hope we are all as successful! Wish you luck with ur incision n that u are able to return to work as u hope to do on Monday.
  15. Hmmm...No, I haven't tried that. =\ I just use Pure Protein. The ones that come prepared in the cans n the powder to make ur own shakes. Sorry, Hun.
  16. Oh, I see! I guess I'll have to round up the neighborhood kids to help me out! Lol Thanks for the heads up!
  17. Nicole, u got it girl!!! Pastelitos all around--well, no not really! =\ Lol But yes, they are deelish! Can't wait till we get to the point where we can comforatably SHARE one. Lol Glori, Pasta in the mushy/solid phase!!!! Oh please, pleeeease find out if and how that is possible! I think u might have just made my day with that news!!!
  18. Lmboooo...I had a pastelito. It's a Dominican version of an empanada (but MUCH THINNER n NOT as filled with meat or the such). But it being fried n all...Super bad. =\\\ But I couldn't help it! The saddest part is that the reason why I was in the kitchen was to make a Protein shake!!! Lol I stopped dead in my tracks when I came across a COVERED plate where those were being kept for 'others'. Lol! I was trying my hardest to chew, chew, chew! But even tho I was eating way too fast for my own good. It did feel great to have that sensation in my mouth again, I must say! =\
  19. I agree, this thread has helped a lot! Especially meeting others that had their surgeries on the same date. At first I was skeptical of putting myself out there, but having this support n 'going thru this with others' has been a huge help. Nicole, I'm glad u're doing so great n u have found a way to cope with the boredom of the same shakes. I kinda cheated a lil while ago. I had a snack I shouldn't have had n I was SO afraid it would get stuck! Thank God it didn't!!! But at the same time I kinda wish it had, so it would deter me from doing it again. =\ To everyone else, welcome! Glad we are all fairing pretty well! Glad we're here for eachother!
  20. I think removing them bandages really has helped! All of a sudden I'm not as sore. Of course it's still THERE but it isn't a severe when I twist around or get out of bed now. The protein intake probably isn't going as great as it should be. I've had some chicken broth n a protein shake, but I should probably have some more protein throughout. I'm really hungry. I'm trying to pretend I'm not, so I haven't been eating (well, drinking) that much. =\ N u???
