My surgery is on the 22nd and I haven't told anyone besides my parents and by two best friends. I personally don't feel like sharing the fact that I'm going through this surgery because, as you mentioned, I'm very self-conscious about being thought of "taking the easy way out," also because I like to keep things to myself. I am 20 and my parents took me to a dietitian the first time when I was 10, so you can imagine how long I have struggled. I wish you success and keep us posted!

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I'm so glad I stumbled upon this site. I believe it'll help me throughout my journey.
I'm being banded on January 22nd and I'm nervous, but I guess it's only normal. I can't wait for it though.
Lately, my only concern regarding the surgery is whether I'll be able to lose weight as much as a lot of people on this forum have. My current weight is 226 lbs and I want to be somewhere around 155-165 lbs.
I have previously lost 115 lbs, but gained 60 back, which is why I decided to go through with the surgery. I've been morbidly obese my whole life. I was on diets since I was 10 years old - I'm 20 now.
It's about time I fulfilled my dream of being healthy (and looking good).
I hope I can share my "success story" with you guys one day.
(If you're still reading this, thanks.)
