  2. I was banded on July 18 & although I've only lost 26 lbs....my clothes fit way looser. I'm noticing I'm shrinking in inches and not in pounds. Can anyone relate?
  3. I was banded on July 18 & received my first fill on Sept 10. I only received 3cc & am still able to eat more than a cup. It's definitely a mental thing to stop yourself from eating so much. I just practice Protein first & eat slowly.
  4. I literally force myself to eat because I have NO APPETITE :-( I take my Multivitamin, drink my Protein shakes, take my Calcium but I really don't have taste for anything else. When will my appetite reappear??
  5. I'm feeling much better as the days go on. Most of my pain was caused by the Hernia Repair. I have this On-Q pain pump attached for another day and cannot wait to get it off! I've been drinking a lot of Water, Crystal light, sugar-free Hawaiian punch packets. I've been eating Dannon Light n' Fit vanilla yogurt, strawberry Jello, and chicken broth. Haven't had much of an appetite but I'm forcing myself to eat. I've started my Protein shakes, Multivitamins, and Calcium Citrate pills. I noticed that the Gas-X strips helped a lot with my shoulder pain. The walking and arm windmills helped also. I'm trying to follow everything to maximize my success. Hope I'm doing it right Good luck everyone!!!
  6. I guess the pain is from the port placement.... I'm walking really well. The pain in my shoulder seems to have subsided...I'm using the Gas-X strips and it's helped A LOT! Just scared to make movements with this pain pack attached...and can't wait til it empties so I can sleep comfortably!
  7. If anyone had a hernia repair occur at the same time as their band placement....please share ur recovery tips. I have a medicinal catheter in the skin of my belly & it is pumping a pain reliever for the next couple of days (I have to wear a tacky fanny pack lol)... Anyway...its a tad painful! Just wondering if anyone has any tips to help recover faster....
  8. I was banded two days ago....and now I'm home. Had to stay overnight because of a hernia repair. I've been walking very often & sipping lots of liquids. I am using Gas X strips and although the shoulder pain had subsided...its now back :-( Crushed my Multivitamin & Calcium citrate this morning. I'll be taking my first Protein shake in a couple of hours. Feeling pretty good....just can't shake this shoulder pain
  9. I'm feeling pretty good. Except for this damn shoulder pain.... Thank you all for the well wishes!
  10. I'm in the waiting room...just checked in! So excited (and a tad nervous) to start this lifelong journey. I appreciate all the support on this forum & am beyond thankful for discovering it! I look forward to learning, progressing, and obtaining my goals with the support of you all! Wish me luck...talk to you soon :-)
  11. 1000 EST....I'll check back in this thread after you're done...so we can chat about our experiences! Less nerves..more excitement! Good luck to you
  12. What time is your surgery? You're my July 18 band buddy...I'm a lil nervous but this forum is putting my nerves at east
  13. Good Luck!! I'll be in your shoes tomorrow at 10am EST
  14. I live in Woodbridge and am scheduled to get banded tomorrow....at Fair Oaks Inova....by Dr. Halmi with Bluepoint Surgical
  15. I only shared with a select few also. I really don't care about others opinion because I am doing what's best for ME
  16. I didn't have to do a 2 week pre-op liquid diet either. All that is recommended is clear liquids the day before surgery. So I guess tomorrow I'll be drinking Crystal Light and water & eating a light lunch/dinner....like salmon
  17. I'm hoping to report that. Thanks for the well wishes
  18. Thank you so much for the kind words and well wishes!
  19. I'm scheduled to get banded on 7/18 at 10am. I am having a wide range of emotions right now. Excitement, nervousness, anxiousness, happiness, and a small bit of sadness. I'm determined to follow all the exact guidelines so that I can be success story and fully experience all the positive effects of the band. Wish me luck and I will be checking in this site...often!
  20. From what I've learned....Papaya Tablets help with getting that stuck feeling out of your throat
