Question About Premiere Shakes
Thanks, that's a good idea. I will try thinning them out with milk. Adds more protein for a bonus

Question About Premiere Shakes
So I have the RTD shakes from costco. Pre-op they were a breeze to get down because I drank them through a straw. Now I'm post-op and I pour them in a cup. They are so thick and clumpy it grosses me out and I can't get them down. They have like these big white flakes in them. Is this normal or did I get a bad batch? Sent from my iPhone using VST

My Mother Is Supportive (Shocking), Dr Not So Much
Congrats! I too am with Kaiser and had a 38 bmi at the time. I went to Mexico 11 days ago. I didn't tell my pcp but will when I have him run my blood work after two months. I was very dissatisfied with them as far as trying to get approved and am going back to bcbs during open season. Sent from my iPhone using VST

How Much Nausea Did You Have The First 2 Weeks?
I only had nausea the night of my surgery. I just started protein shakes (10 days post-op) yesterday and getting those down has made me VERY nauseous.

Lol yes this was a decision that took a lot of thought. I was like look there are stop signs. Look there's a crosswalk. It actually wasn't that bad. Once the cars saw that you were trying to cross they stopped. I had to shuffle across because I didn't want to hold up traffic. I told my friend I survived surgery I can't die in Mexico crossing the street! Sent from my iPhone using VST- My Pcp Is Not Supportive At All & Made Me Worried Now!
Sorry you had to go through that. She sounds ignorant and uninformed. It's sad that doctors take the oath "do no harm" yet refuse to treat you if you have surgery by someone they don't know. I was sleeved by Dr. Kelly last Wednesday. He is an excellent surgeon! I hope you find a supportive PCP that is interested in your overall well being and health.- How Long Did Your Process Take?
Mexico was great! I was sleeved by Dr. Ramos Kelly a week ago today. I did alot of research on these and other boards and websites. If you need a defense for your husband, tell him that the surgeons in Mexico have been doing bariatric surgery longer than the ones in the US, specifically the sleeve. The surgeons in Mexico have done thousands, while the "experienced" ones here have done a few hundred. I'm not knocking US surgeons, I was just VERY confident in my choice of surgeon. Also there are several youtube videos of people that went to Mexico. Everyone raves about how the hospital care is better in Mexico. That was my first hospital stay so I really can't compare it, but I was pleased. I had no pain, just a little nausea. The morning after I just kept telling my friend I can't believe this is an outpatient surgery in the states. In choosing your surgeon, just make sure you look at experience and complication rates. Either way, you have to feel comfortable with your choice. It's already stressful enough going through the surgery, you at least want to be confident that you chose an experienced one. Good luck with whatever you decide.- Week 1 - Weigh In
Hey good job! I was so excited to weigh in this morning. I'm down 6.4 for the week with a total of 16.- How Long Did Your Process Take?

Oh it fits through the incision. If you have a strong stomach here's a video of the whole procedure. There are several on YouTube. Sent from my iPhone using VST- Tujuana Violence
I stayed at the Lucerna hotel. Yes I was given antibiotics, pain meds, and acid reducer omeprazole. I didnt really need the pain meds. I took one before my flight just in case. The stuff I drank was clear. It tasted like nasty cough syrup. It wasn't bad going down but the taste lingered in my mouth. Sent from my iPhone using VST- Tujuana Violence
Ok from what I've read Trish is great and will take you everywhere. I left Saturday morning at 6 am. We were actually lucky we got thru in 45 minutes. Ana said on the weekends it could take up to 3 hours. It was cool looking at all the street vendors (I wanted a burrito soooo bad) and stores right on the border that will bring your merchandise while you wait in line. The guy scanned our passports and looked at our faces to make sure it was us. Then we went on to the airport. Sent from my iPhone using VST- Tujuana Violence
I just got back from Tijuana Saturday. I didn't witness any type of violence or border violence. I felt very safe while I was there the whole time. Once at the hotel, my friend and I walked around and went to Starbucks and a pharmacy. It was just like any other Starbucks I've been to. Which surgeon are you using?- Wls As " A Tool" What Does That Mean?
A tool is anything that helps you. The smaller stomach will help you lose weight, but it is not a magic bullet like you will wake up skinny after your surgery. You still have to do the work (eat right and exercise) but it just makes it physically easier for you to do. I've observed skinny people eat and I would think to myself, man I wish I could be satisfied with only eating half a sandwich for lunch. Now that I am sleeved, one day I will be able to- Diarrhea
Yeah I have them too. I'm 6 days post-op. I didn't start getting them until I got home from Mexico. I am thinking the antibiotic I'm taking is the suspect. I'm pretty grossed out because I'm not eating any food yet still eliminating gunk. Yuck!- Greetings From Tijuana!
Well I'm almost 6 feet tall, I think that's why mine is so long. And it would take A LOT of food to pack it LOL!- Greetings From Tijuana!
Hi everyone. I took today off because I thought I was going to need it. I didn't I feel great! I uploaded my pics from my trip and here's the pic of my stomach. Enjoy!- I Have To Be Vanity Smurf For A Minute...
LOL yes amazeballs is good! I had problem skin, like kinda blotchy just on my left cheek. It's completely gone and my skin is smooth. I met my friend for lunch yesterday and she said it looks like I lost weight. I lost 10 pre-op and I'm not weighing myself until Wednesday (just weekly weigh-ins for me).- Teeth Whitening Part 2, Shopping In Mexico And General Health 5 Days Postop
Thanks for the updates. Yeah I learned myself that the bandages aren't supposed to be pulled off OOPS!. I bought some surgical tape yesterday and attempted to clean off the "goo" and was going to replace the bandages, then I was like ummm this doesn't feel right. I tried using alcohol to get the goo off, it didn't really work. Today I almost scrubbed my skin off in the shower and most of it came off. Yesterday I met my friend at Panera and went to the mall. I feel regular and normal. I took today off because I thought I would need a week off, so I'm enjoying lounging around at home. It's weird, I'm having bowel movements, they are liquid but it's weird because I'm not eating anything. And also my whole digestive system is just very noisy. I'm doing well with water, Gatorade, and popsicles. I could actually do without the broth. I already decorated my April calendar with the days we can start protein shakes, and skim milk, then mushy foods. I've been good and not stepped on the scale. I'm going to commit to only weekly weigh-ins (on Wednesdays). Have you tried PowerAid? You might like it better, it tastes better to me but the Gatorade isn't bad so I'm sticking to it. I hope you have a safe journey home!- I Have To Be Vanity Smurf For A Minute...
