  1. I was never told to use laxatives. I was prescribed stool softeners and told to add benefiber. This is all i need. Since starting solids, i havent had a problem and have basically stopped the benefiber and no longer use the stool softener.
  2. I am 5 weeks and have the same feeling in my right side. Update us on what your doc says!
  3. im throwing it out there... i have diarrhea only once after surgery. you may also be highly sensitive to sucrolose(splenda) though. its give diarrhea and bloating to lots of people! not sure if you are ingesting this, but just a thought! (most Protein powders contain this) if not, i hope it clears soon! sorry =(
  4. just humor yourself and get rid of the surcorlose and see if it helps! if it does, then its the surcrolose! for serious! the symptoms are the same!
  5. thank you so much everyone!!! its such a great feeling! next i want to get rid of my heel pain! its slowed down a lot, but isnt completely gone yet. in due time!
  6. Had two days of serious dizziness so i made an appointment to see my doc and he agrees....I was having dizziness from my blood pressure meds so i am officially off of them! yay!!!! my first thing on my list to get rid of as a result of surgery is gone! so happy!
  7. Be aware that you can also have adverse reactions to sucrolose(splenda) that sounds JUST like that! For his very reason i cannot have ANY thing with this sugar substitute. Makes me soooo ill. It is in most protein shakes and supplements. This could be your problem!
  8. Yes, i notice it hurts when i eat too. I saw my surgeon and she thinks its just the food. When i slowed down on my food it started to go away. When i get more full i feel it. Try slowing down and lowering the amounts of food you in take at a time spreading them out more frequently. That has helped me a ton. Our nerves are all connected causing shoulder. that is the explanation i got.
  9. thanks!

  14. Omg. I crave lemons with salt soo badly and i am 3 weeks post op. I have been salting wedges and sucking the juice out. Is this bad for my healing sleeve??? I cant find anything about it!
  15. youre supposed to puree that canned chicken. with chicken broth and make it mushy. its not mushy enough out of the can.
  16. wanted to say that many people think they are lactose intolerant when they arent. they are in fact intolerant to SUCROLOSE. or otherwise known as SPlenda. abotu 99% of things out there for bariactric patients have it in there and it causes me severe diarrhea and gas. I am also in fact lactose intolerant, so it is very hard for me to find products that i can consume. Try not eating sucrolose and see if it helps.
  17. my surgeon prescribed nexium from day one to try to prevent this. im 6 days post off and only deal with sizzling gas that comes up
  18. i have pain because i have been overcompensating for my stomach. so, thus back and neck pain. start to stand straighter and see if it helps! it did for me! =)

  21. Wont get to talk to surgeon again for three weeks. surgery is in four. need to book vacation before then. of course i would ask the surgeon if i could, but i cant before we book, so, i dont want to waste money on a vaca that i wont get to enjoy. its not really a matter of, when can i technically be submerged, its a matter of, im a germ freak and if everyone's scabs arent healed but are given the go, im still not going under nasty Mexico Water, haha! =) i think we will skip international, skip the beach and just stay somewhere around here. thanks everyone! really appreciate your input!
  22. thank you so much everyone! we may just head to vegas or something. i have a huge fear that if we go in a pool or rinse off with outside shower water i may get an infection or something, haha.
  23. My dh and I are planning a vacation and I didn't even think about when it would be safe and OK to swim in a pool or ocean. How long did it take for your incisions to seal up and close? We plan on going on vacation one month after surgery. Should we skip the beach?
