    How do you stop losing?

I'd love an update and to hear more in your story. How much did you need to lose to begin with? I would be thrilled to no end to be 35 pounds from goal at only 6 weeks out. But I've set my expectations much more modestly in order to not set myself up for disappointment. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Lap band to sleeve here too, but my band was removed in Feb. And my sleeve surgery is Nov. 1. My biggest band issues were that my port kept (painfully) tearing off of whatever it was attached to. It got to where I was terrified to hardly move let alone exercise. I'm excited and looking forward to this next chapter. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    Going back to work

How did you do getting back to work? Are you feeling better and able to work a full day yet? My Dr. told me recovery could take 4-6 weeks but depending how I feel I can go back at 2-3 weeks if I am up to it. I have a total desk job so I'm keeping my options open. I submitted for 6 weeks on FMLA and applied for short term disability and will take it one day at a time. I hope you are feeling good now. Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app
  4. Wow that's great! Congrats on the accomplishment. Great idea! My surgery will be Nov 1. I'm going to do this too! Sent from my XT1635-01 using BariatricPal mobile app

    I'm upset...

I have heard that people with less to lose will lose it slower than people work a large amount to lose. My friend had her sleeve done Jan 2014 and it took her a full 18 months to slowly lose 120 pounds. I have to lose about 80 pounds so my expectations are set According. I don't think I'll be losing 40-50 pounds in the first month like someone who has 200 to lose might do. I'll be happy at losing 6-10 pounds a month. 6. My doctor won't do the revision without 6 months in between. He said there's too much scarring and chance for complications. Mine was removed Feb 2017 And my sleeve surgery is scheduled for Nov 1.
  7. I was banded in 2009, lost about 80 pounds total, then started to have major issues and had to have surgery to repair it in 2012. It hasn't worked since then and I've gained over 50 pounds back since then. My new doctor does not do the revision in one go so he removed my band in Feb 2017 and I'll get my sleeve surgery on Nov. 1. I'm thrilled that after going through all the hoops my insurance finally approved it.

    "LAST SUPPER"

I'll be seeing my nut in 4 days to get the down and dirty for my pre-op regime. Hopefully she's not too restrictive until about 1 week out. My surgery it's Nov 1. My daughter's wedding is 10 days before my surgery so I will hopefully be enjoying a couple of great last suppers before my big day. I'll have a rehearsal dinner and wedding reception dinner. Then I don't care what she wants me to do. I'll go full on liquid diet if she says.

  10. In my experience, most men are just more private about things in general. My husband doesn't like everyone to know our personal life details. I've learned to time down and share a lot less on social media since we started dating and got married. It's not that we have anything to hide. He is just old school and feels some thing's should stay in the home. He doesn't even talk about vacations until we are back home so that people don't know were not home.
  11. This right here! Nearly identical to my story. My lap band was removed in Feb 2017 after I had it 8 years. My revision to sleeve is on Nov. 1, 2017. My BMI got down to 27 the first 2 years with the lap band but due to many issues including one surgery to repair it 5 years ago my weight crept up about a 10-14 pounds a year. My BMI is now about 37ish. A lot of people would look at me and think I should not need something as drastic as WLS but I don't want to go back to what I was. I have tried everything and just can't do it on my own. Good luck on your journey!

Lost 40 pounds in two weeks

Congrats on such a great start to the new you. You are gorgeous! May I ask what percentage that is of your goal weight loss? I have surgery set for Nov. 1. And have about 80 pounds total to lose. I would be thrilled to be 50% of the way there in only 2 weeks!
  13. Hi. I've just relocated from the West Coast to the East Coast and this month is my 2 year Bandiversary. My band is suddenly too tight and I have been unable to eat or drink regularly for three weeks. Everything I input comes flying back out in less than 3 minutes. I'm sooo Thirsty... I keep drinking water and juice hoping some is being absorbed before I throw up. I think I have been able to eat 4-5 times in the last three weeks where I had NO problems... Its gradually gotten worse to the point now that nothing has stayed down in 4 days. DOES ANYONE know of a lb doctor in the Fall River or surrounding areas? At this point its Saturday, New Years Eve and I may end up in the ER to get an unfill. I'm so thirsty... and I've only been going pee (very little comes out) about 2-3 times a day and I normlly go about 15 times a day/night.
  14. Thank you for the responses! I never saw them until today. On New Years Eve, I ended up at Charlton ER which is two blocks from my house and they couldn't help me. They sent me to Providence hospital where I sat for several hours while they looked for a dr who could help. They gave me a couple bags of IV fluid stuff and at 11:15 pm an Angel named Dr. Roye came in and unfilled me, and he is now my Dr. They had told me he couldn't come in until his wife got home after midnight, but he found a babysitter or his wife came home early or something. He is a wonderful Dr. And I super duper appreciate him!
